CHAPTER SIX, PT. 1

Enemy

POV Gray and Juvia

It was definitely something good having her right by his side. He would have to thank Erza later for accepting his request. He peeked at her from the corner of his eyes and found her looking back at him, which made both of them look away in embarassement. -I uh... I hope we can find everything we need!- Juvia said trying to disguise the fact that she was staring at him.

-We will, you don't have to worry-

-You know, Mira is pretty strict with us-

-Oh, really?-

-She said if we don't manage to bring enough things she would remove us from the Scavangers and we would have to go to the Hunter's team- Gray stared at her and kindly smiled.

-You don't have to worry, you'll do fine- she smiled back at him after hearing his words of encouragment. -By the way, do you know where are we going?-

Juvia took out the map from her bag and unfolded it. There was an old picture of an abandoned convenience store with a red cross over it -It says we should go to this convenience store-

-I'm pretty sure there are lots of food and supplies that can help. Specially in the basement-

-You're right-

-Alright, let's get going-

The marked place wasn't that far from the camp, around twenty minutes walking. The forest surrounding the camp came to and end, showing the beggining of a big road and nothing on the other side. This shop might have been constructed for the people travelling that needed something specific on their way. -I guess we will just have to walk down the road-

Luckily for them, this time there were no vehicles around that could hid any of those monsters. Both had their guns in their belts in case something happened. -I think I've never thanked you for shooting the dead one back there at the camp-

-You don't have to though! There was no other choice-

-You could have just ran away-

-Do you really think I could do that after all we have been through? You didn't run when I sprained my ankle and so I said I owed you my life- she sounded so sure of herself, so confident, so attractive. It was nice to see her being like this.

A sound came from in between the trees of the forest next to the road -...-

-...- they both took their guns and pointed on the way the sound came from. A dead one came out slowly walking from in between the bushes. -If we shoot, we will attract more of them- Gray put his gun back and took a knife from his pocket.

-Keep your gun at him just in case I miss- Juvia nodded and kept her position. Gray silently walked towards him, who didn't seem to notice the black-haired guy, and quickly stabbed him on the head. Seeing this Juvia lowered her weapon and sighed with relief. He walked back up to her -Let's go-

They kept on walking until finally arriving to the abandoned place. -Its here- Juvia walked first and looked through the windows to make sure there was no one inside. The door was closed with a lock. Gray put out his gun and Juvia stepped aside. He pointed at the lock and shooted, breaking the lock into pieces.

After being sure it was safe, they both made their way inside and started scavanging. They found bandages, food and hygiene products. They were both im silence when Gray decided to break it -You never told me what Lyon said to you the other day- Juvia stopped moving for a second after the sudden question and then went back to searching.

-Oh, uh... He... just asked me to go on a date with him-

-...- Gray didn't respond for a second -I see. So what did you say?-

-I said that I'm not sure due to the circumstances, but in reality,-

-...- he way paying attention while pretending to search.

-I have someone I like- she said with a tint of pink on her cheeks. Gray's heart skipped a beat.

-Who is it?- he asked without hesitation.

-You cannot ask something like that so simply!- she replied this time with her face being red as a tomato.

-Why not? We are friends after all- he asked teasingly.

-It doesn't really matter because I'm pretty sure he doesn't like me back-

-...- he didn't know how to reply. He was pretty sure she was talking about him. But he didn't... he couldn't fall in love. Not ever again.

-Gray!-

-W-what..?- he was caught off guard.

-Look. The basement...- Gray walked in her direction and was amazed by the amount of boxes full of food and supplies.

-Holly--

-We should take all of this to the camp-

-Yeah, but how? Is too much- both of them remained in silence for a moment. While they were thinking about how to take all of the supplies back to the camp, two unkown voices could be heared outside. -...?!- Gray and Juvia quickly hid in between the boxes and waited for the two man to show up.

-What the hell?! The lock is broken!- one of them said out loud.

-Shit. The supplies..!- They ran towards the basement and saw nobody -Come out!- He shouted while they were both holding their guns.

-Stay hidden- Gray murmured.

-What?! I can't let you go out alone..!- Juvia complained in a low voice.

-I'm the hunter, you're the scavanger. This is my job. Plus I need you to cover for me in case anything goes wrong-

-...-

-Alright, I'm coming out. Please don't shoot- Gray said while slowly showing himself with his hands up. He kept himslef very calm and tried showing them he wasn't dangerous.

-What the hell are you doing here?!- a tall young man with black and white hair asked him aggressively.

-I was hungry so when I found this place I came inside to see if there was any food left-

-Yeah well, this are our supplies- A handsome guy with brown hair -What should we do with him, Totomaru?- he asked his partner.

-He already found our store. If he tells anyone about this place it could make trouble for our camp-

-(camp?)- Gray thought to himself.

-Should we kill him?-

-.?!- Juvia panicked from behind the boxes. She reached out for her gun, but stopped when the other guy started talking.

-Not yet, Hibiki. Lets take him to our camp and ask the lider what he wants-

-I'm not going anywhere with you two-

-You are coming with us- Hibiki walked towards him and pointed the gun at his chest.

-Alright-- Totomaru turned his back and at that moment Gray disarmed Hibiki and grabbed him while holding a knife to his neck.

-Juvia!- She jumped from behind the boxes and pointed at Totomaru's head.

-There was another one?!-

-I wouldn't move if I were you- Juvia said.

-Tsk- Juvia walked towards him, took his gun and tied his hands strongly enough for him not to move. Then she went to Hibiki and did the same.

-Now... how should we take all of this to the camp?- Gray asked.

-I think we should tell Erza so more people can help us-

-Maybe we can take them as well- said while looking at them. Totomaru smiled.

-Are you stupid enough to believe we will go with you two?- Suddenly the door was sent flying and a group of four people came inside.

-Well, well, well... what do we have here?-
