"What's happening?" Cassidy asked trying to get to the one small looking over the barn.
The five kids had been cramped up inside the one roomed tree house for about an hour and thing weren't getting very comforting.
"Nothing...much" Brody said holding the binoculars he brought closer to his eyes.
"They've been in there for 20 minutes it can't be nothing" Cassidy said pushing her way to the window, taking the binoculars from Brody.
Cassidy held the binoculars closer to her eyes, finally able to get a clearer view.
"What's happening?" Dylan asked pushing his way to the window as well.
"Daddy's comforting Bailey, I think" Cassidy said looking down on the scene.
"Are they blushing?" Tuck asked.
"The binoculars ain't that good" Cassidy said.
"Does it matter. All we need to find out is if they have feelings for each other" Chloe said from the back of the treehouse.
"Chloe's right, we can't see if they're blushing, but we can see their actions" Cassidy said.
"Well not all of us have binoculars!" Dylan said.
"Use the camera on your phone!" Cassidy replied as everyone quickly took out their phones and went to camera.
"Hold on then why didn't you?" Dylan asked holding his phone up trying to get a better view.
"Cause she wanted the binoculars!" Chloe said over everyone.
"But how are we all supposed to see out the window, It's hard enough with three" Tuck complained from the back of the tree house.
Cassidy rolled her eyes in response, taking her eyes out of the binoculars to answer her brother.
"there's holes all around the window, look out of one of those" Cassidy answered.
"yeah, it's what I've been doing, Cassidy?" Chloe asked right as Cassidy pulled out her phone and gave it to the six-year-old to use.
"Thank you" Chloe replied as Tuck and Brody came over to the hole, she was using to look out together. Making it not too cramped as it was before.
*Meanwhile with Bailey and Beau*
Beau walked up to the horses and gave them a check down, obviously whoever had tacked up the horses knew their stuff well. No flaws. No dust. Everything was shinny and new looking as if the horses were in some pageant.
Bailey stood back as beau checked over the horses, not feeling very comfortable with the whole riding concept she really just wanted to bolt out of the barn back to the safety of her room. But stood there non the less.
"You okay Bailey?" Beau asked looking over to see her really pale.
"Yeah, I fine, just isn't it a little late to be riding" Bailey answered her voice shaky.
Beau smiled at her remark, he could see she was scared even if she wouldn't admit it.
"here" Beau said taking bailey by the hand. Leading her to the one of the horses.
"Beau what are you doing?" Bailey said wide eyed.
"Relax, they won't hurt" Beau said placing bailey's hand on the shoulder of the horse, making Bailey once tense muscles relax a little.
Smiling now bailey looked up at the mocha-coloured horse, for most of her life she had wanted to ride one, now she just might get the chance.
"I'll teach you" Beau said seeing the gleam in Bailey's eyes as she stroked the horse.
"really" Bailey said looking at Beau.
Beau nodded in response leading both horses to the Arena just outside the barn, with Bailey following behind.
"Look Daddy's teaching Bailey how to ride!" Dylan remarked from the treehouse.
After twenty minutes the kids had taken a break from spying on the adults, but Dylan had been persistent, wanting to keep watching in case any exciting action happened.
Now everyone moved to the window or one of the holes to watch the scene unfold.
Since they were so close to the arenas Binoculars and phones weren't needed making the five of them not be so cramped up and having elbows in faces.
Turns out Dylan was right; Bailey was on the horse with Beau on his next to her teaching her how to ride. It was clear that Bailey had some fear of horses, but it didn't look like she was clueless on how to ride.
"Bailey's a natural" Brody said.
"Na-uh she must have been on a horse at some point, even I can tell that" Chloe said.
"Chloe's right, even though Baileys obviously a bit stiff, her posture's flawless. What new rider has a flawless posture the first time they ride a horse" Tuck explained agreeing with his younger sister.
"She said she'd never ridden" Cassidy said hurt obviously in her voice.
"She may have ridden once or twice when she was little and forgotten" Tuck suggested.
"Yeah maybe" Cassidy mumbled back.
A few hours later
The sun had nearly finished setting while bailey and beau were still out riding.
Beau had secretly been loving that he decided to see what the note was about. Because if he didn't he wouldn't be able to spend this time with the woman who literally saved his crumbling family.
As much as he hated to end the fun they were both having the sun would be completely down in a few minutes.
"Hey Bailey, gonna help me bring the horses in?" Beau asked as he dismounted.
"Sure⦠just how do you get off?" Bailey asked stopping her horse.
Beau chuckled to himself before walking over.
"Swing your leg over to one side and slide down" Beau instructed, standing next to Bailey and the mare.
"I'm not gonna fall, am I?" Bailey asked tightening her grip on the reins.
"I'll catch you if you do" Beau answered.
"So, there is a chance?" Bailey said freaking out more.
"Bailey, do you trust me?" Beau asked.
"Yes" Bailey answered truthfully, Before swinging her leg over and sliding down.
"See not that bad" Beau said.
"I guess so" Bailey answered.
The two adults now both lead the mare's to the stables and brushed them down before heading back inside.
Beau closed the door behind the both of them after putting they both untacked their horses.
"Well, that was defiantly more exciting then what I thought it would be" bailey said leaning on the kitchen counter.
"Yeah, but I think I have an idea of who did it now" Beau said.
"The kids!" They both answered in unison, laughing after.
The two now standing face to face.
Bailey could feel the blush forming in her checks, looking at his lips and back to his eyes as he did the same.
Beau looked her eyes then to her lips and back to her eyes, "KISS HER!" he heard a voice scream in back of his head.
Tilting his head a little he put a hand behind her neck leaning in-
"SHHH!" Brody said opening the door.
Pulling away suddenly Bailey and Beau stood there in the kitchen awkwardly.
"Brody what are you ding?" Beau asked switching his father mode on.
"Um well practice finished and.." Brody stuttered.
"he came in the back door" Chloe said walking in with her siblings.
"Chloe what are you doing, I thought you were at Myah's for a sleepover. I dropped you off at her house!" Bailey said freaking out a little.
"Um well- Dylan's study group ended early and myah had a allergic reaction from peanuts so I called him and he picked me up" Chleoo lied quickly.
"Yeah, and my date finished early her brother was being protective" Tuck lied as well.
"Exactly so we all met up and decided to come in the back since we saw a glow from the barn." Dylan said.
"yeah, and I was telling them off for intruding and making them get upstairs" Cassidy said firmly in an gruff voice.
"Okay well I'll help you guys get ready" Beau said as him and his children went upstairs quickly, all except Cassidy leaving her and Bailey alone in the kitchen.
"Nice plan you guys made with the barn and all" Bailey said sitting down at the table, following with a shocked Cassidy.
"You're not going to ground us are you?" Cassidy said looking at her nanny.
"No, of course not. It was sweet what you did" Bailey answered.
"well it was supposed to be a way for you to learn how to ride, but you already knew" Cassidy answered coldly.
"What do you mean?" Bailey asked a bit shocked at Cassidy's response.
"we saw you, all of us. No beginner is that comfortable in her stance. You lied!" Cassidy accused, tears threating her eyes.
"I don't like when people lie to me Bailey you were the only person I could trust who wouldn't lie to me!"
"I'm sorry Cas" Bailey said quietly.
"Why did you lie? Why didn't you trust me?" Cassidy said tears now streaming down her face.
"Cas it wasn't like I didn't trust you, it's that I didn't trust myself" Bailey said taking Cassidy's hands in hers.
"What?"
"My mum used to ride horses a lot, she would teach me or at least ride with me when I was very young. But she walked out on us multiple times. Making me hate her a lot, and riding. That's why I said I haven't ridden before. And I'm so sorry for lying" Bailey fessed up.
Sniffling Cassidy looked up at Bailey seeing tears even glistening in her eyes.
"I forgive you, and I'm sorry for getting so worked up" Cassidy answered: Bailey then took Cassidy in her arms hugging her tightly.
"You know you're the first person I've told" Bailey told Cassidy, her smiling in response.
"First six" Cassidy corrected pointing to Beau, Tuck, Brody, Dylan and Chloe who were standing in a group together behind them.
"We didn't want to intrude" Chloe said.
"It's okay, Bailey said , opening her arms for Chloe to join the hug, with everyone else soon joining in to form one big, safe family hug.
Hope you enjoyed Part Two!
