Iron Man Logs: The Setup.

Universe: Earth-9997 (why are universes designated by Earth number?)

Long ago there were powerful aliens who ruled as gods of the primitive humans, but one day they left.

While there were blips, most of the time humans controlled their destiny.

In World War 2, there was a huge surge in Super-Human-Experiments, and one of the greatest successes is Captain America.

But Captain America had to face a powerful alien who grew up in Germany as a farm-boy, Skrib Schneide, The Übermam.

When The Überman faced Captain America, Steve Roger's words opened Überman's eyes to the evils Hitler. Schneide flew over and killed Hitler for treason against the German people. He then declared himself Kaiser of the Constitutional Monarchy of Germany, and took his country out of World War 2.

Überman spent decades founding the United Nations, S.H.I.E.L.D., the X.I.A. (look into), and the Guild of Superheroes to save lives and help people.

But in 1969, Kaiser Überman grew tired of humans never learning; he and his friends retired to Colony Zero which still orbits to this day (where many supers still retire).

Later in 1986, President Ronald Reagan passed the Superhero Registration act, and convinced U.N. members to follow it. "Gifted" individuals were required to serve their country, hide, or be treated as hostile terrorists (kill on sight). This lead to the rise of City Heroes who would help the police and fire departments of their designated hero zone.

With modern advances in forensic science, profiling, and the prevalence of camera it is now nearly impossible for someone with "gifts" to keep them a secret.

A few years ago, the Chitauri invaded New York City, and Nick Fury Jr. assembled The Avengers (including Hawkeye for some reason). Afterwards, The Avengers was classified as a U.N. taskforce.

Just a few months ago the world began to break when a powerful supervillain named Major Warcrime attacked Detroit. The fighting was nasty, and many of the older City Heroes fell. Frustrated, the orange President authorized the army against him. When that failed POTUS shot 100 of "the best" nukes at Detroit. But Major Warcrime remained, unfazed by such weak attacks (there might be other survivors).

The age of quantity is over.

The age of quality has begun.

Presently, The Avengers is on the search for many great and rising heroes to deal with incredible threats like Major Warcrime. There have been significant changes in The Avengers' funding, as well as their hiring standards. What used to be a gathering for mostly straight, upper-class, white, educated, human, Christian, men,... is now becoming diverse and stronger.

In the old days, the Tryout Tribunal would have been Spider-Man applying to join; judged by Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, and Dr. Strange.

Now to send a strong-modern-diverse image to the public, the live-streamed Tryout Tribunal is Iron Man, Black Panther, and The Real Adult Jean Grey (why are there so many Jean Greys?). On Security, we have Drax the Destroyer and his daughter Moondragon. Also, Ms. Marvel volunteered to "help". I wanted a "sane" magic person to help screen magic candidates, but everyone I contacted said they were busy dealing with "holes in reality beyond my understanding" (I hate magic, but it's useful). Black Panther assures me he can screen those candidates for me because he is smarter than me (no one is smarter than me!).

Screening has revealed 36 promising candidates at this time, organized alphabetically by hero name. Some will not work out, some might be assigned asset-roles like Pilot, some will be sent to mega-funder Joe Black's School for the Gifted, some will be Probationary-Intern Avengers, and some amazing candidates might become full Avengers on the spot. One day the Avengers will find and deal with Major Warcrime for his... war-crimes.

Testing will be done by quick Q&A Questions (is that redundant?), a test involving Stark-Ceiling-Turrets shooting at candidates with non-lethal ammo, a test involving saving a doll hidden in a burring building, a test involving "bank robbers" holding "hostages" at gunpoint (Canadian improv actors with great insurance), and finally a 60 second spar against a Hero of the candidate's choice. We will also be taking note of any red flags that come up.

Family members will be processed at the same time (for a lot of smart reasons I don't feel like explaining to a digital recording of myself).

Right now what we need is time. We need as many heroes as possible to be at a quality where they can help against Major Warcrime and those around his power level, or worse. But we can't do something reckless like hand out lots of vibranium bullets or else there will be lots of problems when people like Red Skull steal them and shoot us.

Also while we inherited the Marvel Power-Stat System from Überman's Guild of Superheroes, many Avengers have found it faulty so I will be attempting a better system... "Right Hero, Right Job".

32 promising candidates have appeared.
