Enjoy chapter 3.)

(Metro City, nighttime, third person POV...)

A truck of unknown make was driving through the quiet nighttime streets of Metro City, carrying a big power cell to be delivered to a power company to backup the power for their computer systems.

One of the occupants of the truck yawns as he asks, "Ahhh, these night deliveries are killing me. What's the rush anyway?"

The truck driver replies, "The power company needs this big power cell to backup their computer system."

His companion yawns again as he says, "Well, wake me up when we get there."

The two men drive their truck, completely unaware of the mechanical great white shark following them.

But this ain't just any ordinary mechanical great white shark.

No. It's the Predacon second-in-command known as Sky-Byte, a staunch poet and patriot of the Predacon army whose only mission is to fulfill his duty as Megatron's first lieutenant.

The noise of Sky-Byte smashing through the cement roads to catch up to the truck wakes up the sleeping truck passenger.

He asks, "Huh? What's that?"

He looks in the rearview mirror to see Sky-Byte's shark fin, even though he didn't know who the Predacon sub-commander was yet.

The man mutters, "You must be kidding me."

The passenger says to the driver while pointing outside, "It's a shark!"

The driver replies, "Listen, pal, I think you should go back to sleep; this night shift really is getting to you."

He looks outside to the back, only to be horrified by seeing Sky-Byte burst out of the road in beast mode.

Sky-Byte bursts out of the road with a roar.

Then, he starts chomping apart the back of the truck, leaving nothing but the cab behind as it speeds away, leaving the power cell behind.

Sky-Byte chomps on the power cell, literally siphoning the power from it as gas pours out of it.

Sky-Byte remarks, "I don't know why I'd bother; that was barely enough for a snack! I need more energy, and I believe I know where to find it. MAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The next morning, Optimus calls Koji on his phone and says, "Koji, we have a Predacon alert. I'll pick you up a block north of your residence."

Koji replies while running to the rendezvous point, "One block north of my house. Gotcha, Optimus. I'm on my way there right now."

Koji finishes running and sure enough, Optimus Prime comes into the alleyway in fire truck mode.

Optimus opens his cab door and states, "Hurry, Koji, this is an emergency."

Koji enters Optimus' cab and the Autobot leader starts driving fast while making sure to obey the city's speed limit.

Koji asks, "Whoa, what are you running on, jet fuel? What's all the commotion about, Optimus? Where are we going?"

Optimus replies, "Not far. I'll explain everything when we get there."

Optimus enters a parking building and a part of the bottom road lowers itself like a ramp, revealing itself to be the entrance to Autobot Headquarters.

Optimus stops driving at the center of the base before he comes upon the command center.

Optimus lets Koji out and switches to robot mode.

Koji asks, "Holy cow! What is this place?"

Hookbomber Prime comes up and replies, "This is Autobot Headquarters. This is the secret underground base of the entire squadron of Autobots under Optimus' command while on Earth."

Koji states in awe, "Wow. How many Autobots does it take to run this operation?"

Optimus answers, "Our computer systems here in the base are controlled by a proactive cybernetic interface program. We call it T-Ai, which is short for tactical artificial intelligence."

T-Ai's hologram appears and she notices Koji as she says, "Hello, Optimus. I see you have brought along a visitor."

Optimus replies, "Yes, T-Ai. This is my friend, Koji Onishi, the son of Doctor Kenneth Onishi."

T-Ai states, "Nice to meet you, Koji. Any friend of Optimus is a friend of mine. I'm T-Ai, tactical artificial intelligence system. Daughter of the Teletraan 1 computer program."

Koji replies, "Nice to meet you too, T-Ai."

Koji tries to shake T-Ai's hand, only to phase right through her to the ground, as T-Ai was nothing more than a mere hologram.

Hookbomber Prime says, "Koji, I didn't get to tell you. T-Ai is a hologram, not a solid carbon-based life form like you."

Koji looks astonished at how T-Ai looks like she's made of air and digital pixels.

T-Ai explains further, "Yes, you see, I was invented only to be a proactive self-initializing program that constantly scans the entire planet in order to alert the Autobots if it looks like the Predacons might be causing trouble."

As T-Ai displays photos of demolished Earth vehicles, Optimus adds, "Take a close look at the monitors, Koji. In the past few days, there have been reports of over two hundred vehicles being attacked on the road. In each and every case of the attacks, the vehicles' batteries were stolen."

Hookbomber adds, "And that's not all. They've also been stealing lots of coal, solar panels and hydropower-based turbines to power their mobile command center and space ship."

Koji asks, "But who would want to steal car batteries, coal, solar panels and hydropower turbines?"

Hookbomber replies, "The Predacons. Batteries contain energy, and they literally want as much energy as they can get from any source on Earth. On top of that, the hydropower turbines are used by hydro-electric dams to utilize flowing water to produce massive amounts of electricity to power any mechanical invention that runs on electricity. Such as television sets, laptop computers, food processors, blenders, refrigerators, electric stoves, alarm clocks, stone tablets, cellular telephones, the cables needed to recharge phones, traffic lights, film cameras, large news cameras utilized by news reporters, and the light bulbs needed to provide light for one's own residence if there's no natural light from the sun beaming in from the windows. In addition to that, Koji, the solar panels that the Predacons stole, my guess is that they want to harness the energy from the sun to also convert to Energon cubes to power up their command center. And on top of that, coal contains excessive amounts of heat, and the Predacons won't even hesitate to steal any natural and unnatural sources of heat to convert to Energon, the primary source of fuel for all Transformers, no matter their allegiances. However, despite the fact that the Predacons' real mission is none other than locating Fortress Maximus, the Predacons' space ship and command center is nearly depleted of energy since the voyage to Earth drained almost all of the Energon needed to power the transwarp fuel cells of the ship, appropriately named the Megastar. Hence, that is why Megatron sent his Predacon troops to various locations around the world to steal massive quantities of any energy source they can find. However, I sincerely doubt that Megatron would actually accept small car batteries as a means of powering up the Megastar."

Koji asks, "Even still, they're putting people in danger. Can't you guys stop them?"

Optimus replies, "We've tried, but no matter how quickly we respond, the attackers are long gone by the time we manage to get there."

The Autobot Brothers are shown on the monitors as T-Ai explains, "The Autobot Brothers are patrolling the highways right now. They've been working for mega cycles trying to locate and intercept the Predacons."

Hookbomber turns on the commlink patch to Sideburn's commlink and says, "Hey, Sideburn. I know you're chasing after red sports cars every time you see them, and I'm only gonna tell you this once because I hate repeating myself: the sports cars on Earth are not – I repeat – ARE NOT SENTIENT MACHINES WHATSOEVER. So, focus on your assignments, or I'll have no choice but to strip you of your sentience PERMANENTLY, thereby reducing you to nothing more than a mere drone."

Sideburn shivers as he replies, "I never pegged you for being as scary as Megatron."

Hookbomber sneered, "Oh, you have no idea how scary I can get, little mechling. Now stop chasing after every red sports car you see, or else I'll have not a choice but to follow up on my warning of stripping you of your sentience."

Sideburn shivers again as he replies, "Okay, okay. I'll try my hardest to stop chasing after every red sports car I see."

Hookbomber hangs up and contacts X-Brawn as he asks politely, "X-Brawn, what's your status?"

X-Brawn replies in pain, "Climbing all the way to the top of this radio tower to spot the Predacons is very painful. You'd think that the humans who built this five hundred feet tall beast of a building would've afforded to build in a freight elevator. When I get down from here, Prowl is gonna owe me a new set of shocks. Uggh."

Hookbomber sighs as he replies, "Don't worry, pal. I'll get you a new set of shocks. Just gotta get the right amount of money for it. Besides, even I have no idea how expensive a set of shocks for a 2001 Mercedes-Benz ML320 SUV is supposed to be, especially here in Metro City."

Hookbomber hangs up and makes his way to his base.

Meanwhile, in the waters off the shore of Metro City, Megatron is monologuing, presumably to the Predacon Council.

Megatron says, "We must find a new source of energy; our mobile command center has been stuck here in the same spot for far too long. The only way we can keep its existence a secret from the Autobots is by constantly changing its location, but our voyage to Earth used up almost all of our Energon to power our transwarp fuel cells. If it weren't for those blasted Autobots, we could easily force the pathetic humans who inhabit this planet to turn all of their energy over to us! And then, I would rule this galaxy and soon the entire universe! Somehow, I'll find a way to get rid of those Autobots and their new '"Aerialbots"' so that no one can stop me."

Slapper calls out, "Megatron! We brought back lots of energy, boss."

Megatron replies, "Excellent. Good work, Slapper. Convert it to Energon cubes and recharge the transwarp fuel cells. After that, we'll move the base to a new location. How is this energy being stored, and how long will it take to convert?"

Dark Scream replies, "These panels we stole are called solar panels."

Gas Skunk adds, "They're used in gathering energy from the sun as long as they're used on the surface."

Slapper adds as well, "And these turbines we stole are called hydropower turbines. They're used in creating electricity using flowing water. We believe that we can use these two inventions to create enough sunlight and electricity to convert to Energon."

Doomtrack adds, "And these black rocks are called coal, a fossil fuel invented by ancient animal skeletons being melted into liquid while being buried far below the Earth's surface. These coals will serve as a great heat source to also convert to Energon."

Megatron replies, "Hmm. I see. How long will each of them take to convert to Energon?"

Doomtrack replies, "As long as we're careful, converting the coals to Energon will definitely take at least two and a half minutes."

Slapper replies, "For the hydropower turbines to convert water into Energon, I'd say no less than five minutes."

Gas Skunk adds, "And as for the solar panels being retrofitted to convert sunlight into Energon, I'd say no more than ten minutes."

Megatron asks, "Is there anything else that needs to be converted to Energon?"

Dark Scream replies, "Yes. The only other energy source is stored in little round canisters."

Gas Skunk adds, "They're stored in something called flashlights, and we got thousands of them!"

The Predacon trios laugh maniacally as they dump all of the stolen batteries out of their large bag, causing Megatron to frown.

Slapper says, "Great score, huh? Of course, we'll have to convert it to Energon, and it may take a little while."

Dark Scream replies, "I don't think it'll take more than a week or two."

Gas Skunk replies, "Well, three at the most."

Megatron shouts, "Silence!"

Megatron continues calmly, "We need massive quantities of energy to convert to Energon, and these little batteries won't be enough to run the base. But the amount of coal, the hydropower turbines and the solar panels, on the other hand, will serve quite nicely."

Just then, Sky-Byte's voice rings out as he says, "You've spent your time wisely, Lord Megatron. I, on the other servo, have found a powerful battery that can be used as a power booster."

Megatron says in response, "Show yourself, Sky-Byte!"

Sky-Byte decloaks as he replies, "Certainly."

Just then, sixty-five more Predacons decloak and are shown all over the command center, thankful that the command center was large enough for such a large gathering of troops.

Megatron remarks, "So, you brought lots of help, Sky-Byte."

The Predacon lieutenant replies, "Yes, and the good news is I've brought you the most powerful battery the humans were capable of manufacturing." He brings out a glowing ball of energy as he continues "But the bad news is even this one isn't strong enough to help run the command center."

Megatron states, "If our fuel cells aren't recharged soon, the Autobots will discover our location."

Sky-Byte replies, "You don't need to worry about that, Megatron. Based on the reports I've been monitoring, I believe I know how to solve our problem. Listen to this latest news report."

The monitor turns on the news as Dorie Dutton explains, "All the terrorists have been placed under arrest. However, the terrorists' ultra high-energy explosive device has not yet been found. The bomb is hidden inside the engine of a red sports car, one of the new XZ-12 models. All XZ-12 models have been recalled and are being thoroughly searched."

Megatron asks, "High-energy?"

Sky-Byte replies, "Exactly. If we can get our hands on this device, we can dismantle it, extract the energy, and convert it into Energon to recharge our fuel cells. As long as we can prevent the device from detonating, it'll give us all the energy we need."

Megatron replies back, "Then finding the bomb in that red sports car is now our top priority."

Sky-Byte points out, "The only one left that hasn't been searched is being shipped and delivered to Metro City."

Megatron responds, "Yes, I see. And what is its exact location?"

Sky-Byte answers, "Right now, it's being off-loaded from a ship at the Metro City Docks."

A dot on the map shows the Metro City Docks.

Slapper asks, "What if this device is rigged to go off if you try to take it out of the car?"

Dark Scream adds, "Yeah, there's no telling what might happen. Sounds awfully dangerous."

Gas Skunk adds, "And if we get damaged by the explosion, the band-aids on Earth aren't big enough for Predacons."

Megatron rebukes them as he snarls, "Silence, you sniveling cowards!"

Megatron continues calmly, "Sky-Byte, I'm putting you in charge of this mission. Use whatever means necessary to obtain that bomb."

Sky-Byte replies, "Your wish is my command, mighty Megatron." Sky-Byte turns to the entire Predacon squadron and continues, "Slapper, Doomtrack, Gas Skunk, Wildember, Dark Scream, Flinchrunner and Gelshark, come with me. The rest of you, stay behind and be ready to mobilize in case we need additional reinforcements."

The eight Predacons leave the Megastar.

Meanwhile, at the Metro City Docks, the XZ-12 sports car with the bomb in the engine is being carefully placed onto the road where Kelly, the human who's always at the wrong place and the wrong time, is waiting as she paid for the car.

As soon as the bombed car is set down, Kelly runs over and says, "Oh, just what I've always wanted! A red XZ-12 with a leather interior and a CD player too!"

She enters the car and turns on the car.

Then Kelly drives the car out of the docks.

Kelly is seen by Hookbomber Prime as he is invisible and flying over the city without causing any damage or attracting any attention.

Hookbomber mentally grumbles, "I'm not gonna be able to get that bomb before Sky-Byte does, but at least I managed to warn my new Autobot friends in time. I hope they can handle the situation without me, and if not, then it'll be time for the big guns."

On the highway, Kelly remarks, "Talk about a smooth ride; this baby handles like she was glued to the road! Okay, now let's see what kind of power she's got!"

Kelly increases the speed of the car.

As Kelly drives onto the empty freeway, underneath the overpass, Sky-Byte is following close behind.

Sky-Byte mutters to Gelshark, "That human could ruin everything. At that speed, one bump off the road could cause the bomb to detonate, and the energy it contains will be lost forever."

Gelshark replies, "The car is probably booby-trapped from what I can see. Sky-Byte, you and I can't rip out the bomb, or it'll blow."

Sky-Byte suggests, "Okay. Either you or myself will have to tear the rest of the car apart, bit by bit, until there's nothing left but the device. Then, a gentle grab and its ours."

Gelshark smiles evilly in beast mode.

Just then, Sideburn turns up and decides to leave the car alone, having remembered Hookbomber Prime's earlier threat.

Sky-Byte remarks, "I didn't think that the Autobots would show up so quickly."

Gelshark replies, "Me neither. We'll have to put our plan into action right now."

Meanwhile, Prowl remarks, "Nice to see you doing your duty for once, Sideburn."

Sideburn replies, "Well, I gotta tell you, Hookbomber Prime is very scary. Scary enough to be easily compared to Megatron."

Prowl asks, "How so?"

Sideburn answers, "Well, apparently, Hookbomber Prime has the ability to strip Cybertronians of their sentience, reducing them to mere drones."

Prowl replies, "I'm sure Hookbomber didn't mean to scare you, little brother, but Hookbomber does have a point about you chasing red sports cars."

Sideburn doesn't say a word, knowing the lecture that's coming.

Up ahead, Sky-Byte and Gelshark emerge from underneath the freeway with a roar of anger.

Kelly notices the two Predacon sharks and screams in terror.

Prowl notices and exclaims, "It's Sky-Byte and Gelshark, two of the Predacons!"

Sideburn replies, "Oh, yes, I see them!"

Kelly calls out, "Please don't hurt my new car!"

Sky-Byte and Gelshark continuously try to bite into the car, only to miss without hitting each other.

Sideburn points out, "Oh, no. Hookbomber Prime was right about the bomb in that car after all."

Prowl replies, "Even if it weren't for the bomb, I'm gonna have to admit that this is the worst case of road rage I've ever seen. Predacons! You're under arrest!"

Sky-Byte and Gelshark ignore the remark and continue trying to bite into the car, only to continue missing.

Prowl activates his jet boosters as he calls out, "Prowl, jet boosters!"

Prowl's jet boosters enable him to fly ahead of the two Predacon sharks.

Prowl remarks, "Halt, Predacons!"

As Prowl continues speeding in front of the two sharks, Sky-Byte snarls, "Autobot, I warn you, if you try to interfere with my mission, you'll suffer the consequences."

Prowl switches to robot mode and stops in front of the two Predacon sharks.

Gelshark snarls, "Here's a little tip for you: never ignore a warning from even two sharks! Now, get out of our way, Autobot."

Sideburn catches up, switches to robot mode and lands next to his brother.

Sky-Byte states, "You chose to ignore our warnings?! Such insolence and disrespect will not be tolerated!"

Noticing the car speeding away, Gelshark says, "We'll deal with you two later."

Prowl replies, "No way, Gelshark! We do this now! Jet booster power fist!"

Prowl activates his arm-mounted jet boosters and tries to punch Gelshark with the flames on, only for the Predacon shark to block it with his tail with each strike.

Sideburn brings out his battle blade and tries to hit Sky-Byte with it, only for the other Predacon shark to continuously block the attacks.

This went on for a few seconds before Sky-Byte remarks, "Well, it's been fun playing with you two, but recess is over! Shark Missiles!"

Sky-Byte fires two missiles from his mouth at the two Autobots, causing them to revert to vehicle mode as the two Predacons pass them while remarking in unison, "Happy motoring." "Happy motoring."

Sideburn growls, "Come back here!"

The remaining six Predacons chase after the car.

Dark Scream calls out, "That's the car, Slapper! We found it!"

Kelly remarks, "I must be dreaming. Either that, or I should be put in the nearest nuthouse."

Kelly's rant is cut short when the Predacons exclaim in unison, "Gotcha!" "Gotcha!" "Gotcha!" "Gotcha!" "Gotcha!" "Gotcha!" to signify that they managed to get a hold of the ticking time bomb.

Slapper exclaims, "We did it! We got the car!"

Sky-Byte calls out, "Careful, you clumsy fools! One false move, and that bomb will detonate, and blow all of you into oblivion! Gelshark and I shall take it to Megatron. Now, hand it over to us."

Doomtrack replies, "Of course."

Slapper interjects, "It's ours. We found it, and we're taking it in. Get going, guys."

The other Predacons get moving, causing Gelshark and Sky-Byte to roar in anger as they fly after the others.

Along the way, Sky-Byte pushes Slapper out of the way as he says, "Get out of my way!"

Kelly starts screaming in terror as Gas Skunk runs with the car in hand, but his running causes the car to shake.

Gelshark points out, "That's no way to carry a bomb! Shaking it like that could cause it to detonate!"

Sky-Byte adds, "Yes, so hand it over, and we'll fly it to the command center."

Gas Skunk replies, "Hey, you two are not the only ones that can fly, tuna breath. Take it, Dark Scream."

Dark Scream replies, "Good thinking, Gas Skunk! Adios, Overbite!"

Dark Scream starts to fly away with the car in tow.

Sky-Byte sneers, "Try to get this through your thick skulls; neither of you is taking that car anywhere!"

Sky-Byte bites into the car, and starts biting through it, tearing it apart bit by bit until there's nothing left but the high-energy bomb.

Kelly says fretfully, "I just know I'll wake up any second."

Sky-Byte gently grabs the bomb in his jaw as he says with his mouth full, "I've got the bomb!"

Kelly starts plummeting to the highway with a high-pitched scream of fear.

Sideburn calls out, "Hold on, madam! I'll save ya!"

Sky-Byte chortles, "Now that I've got the device, I'll have to deliver it to Megatron."

Sideburn catches Kelly in his hand, thanks to the fact that he can make his left hand extend in vehicle mode.

Prowl comes up to Sideburn and says to Kelly, "Sorry, ma'am. I do apologize for the inconvenience. Are you all right?"

Kelly replies, "For someone who was just attacked by two giant flying squirrels, two huge toads, two flying maniacal sharks and two monstrous skunks, sure, I'm just fine."

Meanwhile, Sky-Byte says while flying and with his mouth full, "Hahahahahaha! This device contains enough energy to help recharge all our transwarp fuel cells. We'll convert it's energy as soon as I reach the command center."

Hookbomber Prime's voice says as his grappling iron grabs the bomb, "Think again, scumbag. This little chunk of energy is going with me."

He carefully loads the bomb in his hand, thankful that he didn't handle it so roughly, and teleports into space.

Hookbomber uses the time borrowed to defuse the bomb and teleports to his base to put the bomb in his energy converting conveyer belt.

Hookbomber successfully converts the high energy into massive quantities of Energon for the two Autobot bases.

Meanwhile, Sky-Byte is fuming about how Hookbomber Prime stole "his victory" from him, even though he didn't know who the Aerialbot commander was just yet.

Koji and T-Ai are cheering about Hookbomber Prime's victory, and Koji attempts to hug T-Ai, only to fall through the hologram, completely forgetting what he was told earlier.

In the Predacon base, Dark Scream says, "Sky-Byte must've shaken a bolt loose in his tantrum. Now he's reading books."

Slapper asks, "What for?"

Dark Scream replies, "He says once we understand humans, we can trick them into giving us their energy."

Sky-Byte says while reading, "What sort of nonsense is this? '"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times"'? Best or worst, make up your mind!"

Slapper asks, "Does Sky-Byte really think he's gonna understand humans by reading that stuff?"

Sky-Byte continues reading, "What's this? '"To be or not to be?"' This guy can't make up his mind either! Ugh..."

Slapper states, "It's not gonna work."

Dark Scream adds, "Of course not."

Gas Skunk adds, "Humans are all crazy."

The Predacon trio starts laughing maniacally and hysterically.

Sky-Byte just stews in his own anger, too heavily damaged by Megatron's earlier beating to do a thing about the bumbling oafs laughing at him.

A few days later, T-Ai detects a large Autobot ship entering Earth's atmosphere.

Optimus Prime and Hookbomber Prime walk into the command center as Optimus asks, "T-Ai, what's going on?"

T-Ai answers, "Optimus, there's an Autobot ship entering Earth's atmosphere."

Hookbomber remarks, "I didn't think we'd be getting more reinforcements this soon."

T-Ai continues, "It looks like the ship is gonna touch down at the Amazon rainforest."

Optimus states, "T-Ai, contact the Autobot Brothers. Hookbomber, call in your Aerialbots."

The two Autobots reply in unison, "Yes sir!" "Yes sir!"

At the Amazon rainforest, the eighteen Autobots bore witness to a large battle cruiser touching down in a section of the forest with little trees that won't get in the way.

The Autobot leaders took the new recruits to the base and gave them a huge line up of vehicles to choose to scan.

In particular, the Aerialbots were given military aircraft to choose from.

Soon, the new recruits were given the rundown about Hookbomber Prime and his troops.

Grimraid's crew were shocked when the explanation finished, but then Hookbomber revealed that because of his presence in their dimension, certain things are going out of chronological order.

But eventually, Grimraid and his team got along with Optimus Prime's protégé. Especially because Optimus decided to make Hookbomber Prime the leader of the Aerialbots of the Viron cluster.

Everyone cheered.

The End.
