Chapter 55

Janet had just finished work and was just leaving Al's when she ran into Lily;" Do you have a minute? We need to talk, Janet."

"What about?" asked she suspicious;" If this is about me signing those divorcepapers for Jack then you can save your breath because I'm not signing them! No matter what you or anybody else says."

"You might think differently about that after you have heard what I have to say." answered Lily;" I know your little secret."

"What little secret?" replied her friend's wife with a straight face and began to wonder what she knew or what she had found out;" I don't know what you're talking about, Lily. I don't have a secret."

"Don't lie to me. I know the truth and so does Rosanna!" said she irritated;" We know about your little love affair with Dusty."

"That's a lie!" answered Janet shocked and tried to act all innocent;" There is nothing going on between Dusty and me. All that ever happened between us was one kiss and that didn't mean anything!"

"Oh, really?" asked her husband's friend;" Then why were you up in Dusty's hotelroom the other day,j Janet? What were you two doing there in broadday light?"

"I….." began she with a guilty look;" Did you tell Jack?"

"No, I did't and I'm not going to either." replied Lily with a sigh;" A long as you sign those divorcepapers nobody will hear about this. If you don't then the whole town will know about your dirty little secret!"

"That's blackmail, Lily!" said her friend's wife angry;" You're doing this because of that Lush, aren't you?"

"Don't ever call Carly that again!" warned she her;" I'm doing this because Jack and Carly deserve to be happy, but also because you're only staying married to him out of spite and nothing else!"

"What if I don't sign those papers?" asked Janet;" You wouldn't dare tell everybody because that would hurt Dusty too, He's suppose to be a friend of yours!"

"Try me!" answered her husband's friend;" If you don't sign those papers before tomorrow-night then the whole town will know about the kind of woman you are. Dusty might be a friend of mine, but Jack and Carly are family and there's nothing that I wouldn't do for my family!"

With that being said Lily walked away, leaving Janet behind speechless.

The next morning it was still early when Carly came downstairs and got herself some coffee when Rosanna came downstairs as well;" What are you doing up so early?"

"Did I wake you up?" asked carly worried;" I'm sorry,rosebud. I didn't mean to."

"No, you didn't wake me up." answered she;" Is everything okay?"

"Ofcourse everything's okay." replied her sister with a faint smile;" Everything's fine."

"Are we still on for tomorrow?" said Rosanna;" For our little trip, Carly."

"Yes, we are. I told you I'd come with you and I will." promised she;" Where are we going?"

"That is a surprise." smiled her sister as she got herself some coffee;" But I can promise you that you will love it."

"I've had enough surprises lately, Rosanna. Just tell me where we are going." replied Carly annoyed;" I'm not coming with you unless you tell me."

"You have to come with me. You promised!" laughed she;" You will love it there. I promise!"

"Then what am I suppose to wear for our surprise trip? How long are we going for? What am I suppose to pack?" answered her sister;" Come on, Rosebud. Tell me where we are going."

"No,that is a surprise and I will take care of everything. I will even pack our bags." promised Rosanna;" You don't have to worry about a thing."
