Chapter 59
That afternoon down in Milltown Carly was sitting out on the patio when Molly arrived;" Hey, cuz. What are you doing outhere all alone?"
"Nothing much." said she;" What brings you downhere?"
"I just came to see how my favourite cuz was doing." smiled Molly as she sat down next to her;" Where is Rosanna and where are the kids?"
"Rosanna went out for a while and the kids are all inside." answered her cousin;" Where's Holden, Moll?"
"At the farm, working." replied she;" And where's Jack?"
"Probaly at the policestation or at the farm." said her cousin and saw the look on Molly's face;" Jack is still married to Janet. She isn't gonna give up without a fight."
"But things between you and Jack are a lot better now, aren't they?" asked Molly hesitating;" You do believe that you two are meant to be together now, cuz? Don't you?"
"I know that Jack loves me and I love him too. I'd just wish that Janet would let go off him and sign those papers." sighed she;" I can't wait for him to finally be a free man again."
"Jack will be a free man again, honey. I have no doubt about that and you guys will be together again." answered her cousin;" Janet can't keep hanging on to Jack forever, especially not since he only wants to be with you and not her."
"I hope so, Moll" replied Carly;" I wish that I could spend tomorrow with Jack instead of with Rosanna. It's sweet of her to take me away for a day or two, but it's not the same."
"When is Jack picking up the kids?" asked she;" They are gonna stay with him out at the farm until you and Rosanna get back, aren't they?"
"Ofcourse they are." said her cousin;" I'll miss them, even if it's just for a few days."
"And they will miss you too." smiled Molly as she gave Carly hug;" But you deserve this, cuz. You really do."
Inside Sage was trying to listen in on her mother's conversation with Molly by standing as close to the frontdoor as she could without getting discovered when her brother showed up behind her;" What are you doing?"
"Parker!" said Sage a bit startled as she turned around and quickly moved away from the door, in fear of getting caught by her mother;" Don't sneak up on me like that!"
"What were you doing?" asked he;" Were you listening in on mom and Molly?"
"That is none of your business." answered his little sister;" Leave me alone."
"You shouldn't be trying to listen in on mom's conversation, Sage. That's private!" replied Parker;" It's none of your business!"
"Don't be so hard on Sage!" warned his brother him;" She's just being curious, Parker. It's not like we haven't tried to listen in on mom or dad's conversations before, so give her a break!"
"I was just messing with her a bit." laughed he and looked at Sage;" How much did you hear?"
"They were talking about dad and Janet." answered Sage;" Something about dad wanting mom and Janet not wanting a divorce or something like that. And about mom going away for a few days tomorrow with aunt Rosanna and us having to stay out at the farm with dad."
"I wonder when they are gonna tell us." said her brother;" Maybe when Janet does give dad a divorce."
"That might be never." replied Parker;" Liberty says that her mother is pretty angry at both mom and dad. She's not gonna give dad a divorce just like that, J.J."
"She won't have a choice in the end." responded he;" She can't stop dad from getting a divorce and I'm sure that dad will do whatever he can to get that divorce."
"Mom and dad belong together. Janet should just go away." answered their sister;" Far away. Then dad can take mom out on a valentine's date."
To be continued….
