Dante taking his dog with him to see Metz
Chapter 3
Walk in the woods
"It's good to see you, Dante." Metz smiled widely.
"It's good to see you too." He hugged him.
There was a bark. Dante undid the latch on the crate. A brown, furry dog walked out. Dante grabbed his leash.
"Who's this?" Metz asked, petting the dog.
"Oh, I just got him recently, thanks to Lok. His name is Brownie." Dante took Brownie to a patch of grass. The dog squatted and peed.
"Why don't we take a walk in the woods? It's been awhile since we've done that." Metz stepped off the porch.
They walked to the back side of the house and went into the woods. Metz had a large property with few neighbors so they wouldn't be disturbed by anyone. The woods were nice this time of year. The wind blew through the leafy branches, sun shining through the canopy. They walked on a dirt path. Brownie ran ahead of the men as they caught up. Metz was feeling much since his illness was cured. They came to a stream. Dante remembered it from his childhood. Brownie splashed in the water. Metz laughed. Dante smiled and went after his dog. After that, they went back to the house to dry Brownie off and get something to eat.
