Addax Jensen

My stylist stuffed me into a giant beaker. I have no idea what their plan was. They loaded me onto a dolly and wheeled me off to the chariot. I saw that Donnie was dressed the same, but with some blue crumbs in his. I was confused until they poured some in mine as well. It smelled like mold. I liked to showcase how tough I was, but that would be hard in this insane costume. I looked around and saw Aggra and Sanguis being loaded onto the chariot in front of us. It was hard not to stare.

Donald Jensen

Addax was staring. I followed her gaze. Sanguis was a mermaid. He had a sparkly seashell bra, and a scaly tail. I wouldn't judge anyone's choice of fashion, dividing by gender was a centuries-old concept, but I had a feeling Sanguis would prefer something less... shiny. He was laying on the ground, presumably they had to drug him to get his costume on. Aggra was wearing a coconut bra and grass skirt, with a colorful flower necklace. There wasn't enough room in my beaker to turn around, so I could only see the Districts ahead of us. The girl from Three (I hadn't bothered to learn most names) was in a basic LED suit, pretty similar to one our escort wore last year. Her partner was in what looked like a bathrobe? And he had leaves in his hair. That was odd, but it could've been a reference to something I was unfamiliar with. I couldn't see the other careers, and hadn't looked on the way to our chariot.

Myra Borden

They dressed me in black, and poured a mixture of gravel, glue, and black paint on me. I killed the stylist for that. I beat her with a leftover paint can and stuffed the body in that boy from Eight's costume. Cameron's costume was similar. I think that's what it was. A massive bundle of seatbelts sat beside me on the chariot. I contemplated rolling it off, but I decided to wait on Cameron. He was the only one who seemed to see through my sweet exterior, and I wanted him to suffer through fear and paranoia. The stylist was bald, so I extracted a tooth and ground it into a powder. Then I sprinkled the powder over my bracelet. Such things were important.

Pine Treé

Very clever. I was a tree. I didn't care for my basic boring costume, but something else had caught my eye. I pranced past the eyepatch clad pirate Eddie or something and the odd costume of May was it? The blue dress and gold jewelry looked great, but wasn't District Two the Fighting District? Oh well. I walked over to the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Perfecta looked up from her chat with Larry and saw me.

"Hi! I'm Pine! Wanna go out with me?" I asked. She laughed a perfect laugh. "Well, I guess we could give it a try! Meet me after the parade I guess," she said. Her dress was made of sapphires, matching Larry's obsidian suit. But I didn't care. She would be mine.

Splinter Ironwood

I didn't have a shirt. I didn't mind that. I was worried about the leaf pants. I didn't know how they were held together, and I was afraid they would fall apart. The stylist wouldn't let me wear anything underneath. Before the parade started, I looked around for potential allies. I liked the looks of the pair from Five, the boy from Nine, and the boy from Eleven. They looked strong. However, observing the reapings and their behavior in the Capitol, I knew that only one of them was a suitable ally. I'd talk to them during training.

Polly Esther

My costume felt like an insult to my friends in outer space. I was wearing a neon green morphsuit, and a headband with two springy antennae. I said I wanted to be a celestial being, not a stereotype! Usually I was decently calm and collected, but this was too much. I stormed into the bathroom, ripped off the head and middle of my morphsuit, and tied the latter around my forehead. I stabbed my finger with a broken antenna and painted ritualistic designs on my face with my blood. They wanted a warrior, I'd give them a monster.

I saw Cameron's costume and pitied him. Then I learned what I was. At least his legs were separated and he could walk. I was a ball of yarn. Something smelled rotten inside, and I didn't want to know what it was. I figured Cameron would appreciate an ally, but I wasn't sure if I should ask him. I wouldn't be much help, and he seemed like he would want to be alone. I heard faint cheering and realized the parade had started. I had no idea! Then a faint light appeared, and it brightened. Polly looked in at me. "Let's get you out of that awful 'costume' now," she said. I smiled as she pulled me out and I could see. My stylist was reasonable enough to have me wear a nice patchwork suit underneath, so I still had a costume. A tulip landed in front of me. The crowd was throwing flowers, and I got one! I picked it up and grinned. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad. Polly might even want to ally! I didn't know what was on her face though. Maybe paint?

Florence Alabaster, Capitolite

The first eight chariots had passed. I was excited to see the rest. My favorite so far was the hunk from Seven, of course! He might've been 18, but hey, I was 18 as well. That was alright, wasn't it? Anyway, I didn't like that little girl from Six. Was she supposed to be a shadow? I looked in my electronic brochure, and it said she was a blacktop. What was that? District Nine loaded and I looked up. The guy was a scarecrow, and the girl was wearing a dress made of… wheat? Whatever. He wasn't a sexy scarecrow and she wasn't old enough, or my type. I liked men. District Ten had one costume. A horse. My brochure said they were both in there, but I wasn't sure. District Eleven had a pot of soil and a blueberry muffin. I didn't like the guy. He looked sunburned, and his face was mean. District Twelve had a girl sleeping on a pile of coal. She must be tired, but she should be awake. This was important! The boy was wearing rags, but they were covered in gold glitter. That was an interesting choice. He wasn't very cute though.

Heyyyy! Sooo the last chapter was called Part 1 but that was a lie. 1-4 is train rides, 5-8 is parade, and 9-12 will be training. Hope that works. Also hope you like Florence. See y'all soon with the next chapter!
