Wheatney Oats
Particleboard could be made with wheat. One might have wheat in their home and not even know it. I thought that was cool. I was sitting at the edible plants station, swiping through a screen of plants, watching the other tributes. They weren't particularly interesting, especially as they had no wheat, but it was odd that the little boy as thin as a stalk of wheat was talking to the guy with the eyepatch. The eyepatch guy nodded and walked away. Strange, but none of my concern. After all, I just got to the wheat.
Power Luis Stores
Splinter came over to me as I swung my axe.
"You're holding it wrong," he said. "Not to be rude, though. Want some help?" I scoffed "Help, yeah, I could've used help a while back, but nobody helped. Whatever, you seem like you mean well. Were you hoping to ally?"
"Er- yes." He stepped closer. "I think you and I can get far if we team up, maybe even win!"
I glanced at him. "You seemed pretty moody during the parade, why are you so happy now?"
He sighed. "I am sad, but I realized moping will get me nowhere, so I'm gonna keep a positive attitude and I can do this!" Yeah, nobody has ever tried that before, I thought to myself. I smiled on the outside though. "That's a good way to go about this. I'm Power Luis, but if we're gonna ally, you can call me Pow. It's what my friends called me, back when I had friends."
Penelope Cannon
Of course I had heard the stories. My dad told them to me, when my mom was out shopping or whatever. She would never want me to hear them. Supposedly, I had an ancient ancestor named Charles Cannon. He was born to a very aristocratic family. He slept with a servant named Maddie, but his parents forbade a relationship. She was devastated. She ran to the massive canyon we to this day live about a mile from, and jumped. Turns out, her mother was a witch. She cursed the family to have a daughter who was as ugly on the outside as Charles' parents were on the inside. For generations, only sons were born. Then I came along. What did I do? It's pretty dumb to place a curse that won't even affect the wrongdoers, if you ask me. Cowgo agreed with me. I was glad I had someone to be my friend for once.
Delvin Devaruda
Everybody was training. Well, not everybody. The pair from 12 were nowhere to be seen. I wandered around the training center, observing, and picking up useful information. The career pack wasn't very close, and would probably break apart quickly and violently. The most dangerous ones were the boy from 4 and the pair from 1. The girl from two struck me as average, and her district partner was unstable. Aggra, the only career who's name I recalled, wasn't as skilled or violent as the rest. If I ran into a career, she was my best bet. Of course, it would help to have an ally. I didn't seem like a threat, so nobody would be scared of me, except maybe that boy from 6. I was pretty smart, so the boy from 3 was an option. I had a feeling he only liked smart people. I didn't really want to ally with him though. Another option was his district partner, Dora Claire. She was smart enough, and would probably want an ally. We'd get far, with a little luck. Maybe I'd ask her. The boys from 7 and 9 were strong, and I knew they were allies. But I'd be the third wheel, as they had already bonded. The girls from 6 and 9 were out of the question, of course. I didn't want Penelope. If I had to betray her, it would look bad to District 10. I noted some other possibilities, and made mental notes about them.
Mara Spelt
"Should I look for allies?" I shook my ball. As I see it, yes. Alright then. I looked around the training center. Should I ally with a boy? Don't count on it. OK, a girl then. Should she already be in an alliance? My sources say no. Hmm, that left Wheatney, Rosemary, Penelope, Polly, Myra, and maybe Piné and Dora Claire. I wasn't sure about them. They'd both been talking to people. Myra's name was close to mine. That would be confusing. Should their name start with a P? Not likely. So not Penelope, Polly, or Piné. Or Perfecta, but she was already out. I'd ask Wheatney and Rosemary. One of them would probably say yes. Or at least think about it.
Strawberry McMuffin
I flexed. The Capitol ladies loved me. They shrieked with delight when I tore my shirt off. They ran away, probably because they couldn't handle my glory. One of them went to touch my face, but she accidentally slapped me. I forgave her, but left. I couldn't be with a girl that was that clumsy. I asked them to sponsor me, though. They stared at me.
Florence Alabaster
That boy was disgusting. He was the mean looking one from the parade. He tried to flirt with me, but I slapped him. Then he had the nerve to ask me to sponsor him? As if! I'd sponsor him a rock to the head.
Mara Spelt
"Hey Rosemary, wanna ally?" I lifted her hand for a thumbs up. "Great! I'll use my eight ball to make a plan. Should I go into the bloodbath?" Outlook not so good. "OK, should Rosemary?" Yes, Absolutely.
Peacekeeper Argos Ferron
Why did they choose me? I had to be Laicao's personal escort in the Capitol. I had to monitor him constantly. He hadn't done much, but the stylist wasn't able to get him in a parade costume, so she just shot him with a glitter cannon. He still glitters. Like beautiful gold dust, but it's a farce, hiding the poor, feral child inside. I used to think he was a monster, but I saw now that he was a victim. Why didn't the people of District 12 do anything? This was why they were so poor. They didn't help each other. Luckily for them, the glorious Capitol gave them a chance every year.
Yay another chapter. Mara has 2 POVs cuz Rosemary is still comatose. Mara's POV basically is for Rosemary. Also we see the return of Florence Alabaster and Argos Ferron. Fun.
