PROLOGUE

Konohagakure was the only country in the world where humans could live a peaceful life because the rest of it was filled with bloodthirsty vampires who dominated everything this magnificent world had to offer. Only a few humans got to see the true beauty of the world and live to tell the tale. Konohagakure was filthy and dirty due to overpopulation and famine. The country was full of sin, drugs, sex, and poverty. Very few lived happy lives it was almost a myth to see someone smiling but in that crude country lived a happy family of three Sasuke, Itachi, and their cushion Shisui. They lived on top of a hill, in the countryside. It was once the thriving Uchiha compound but now in ashes except for one small house rebuild from scratch. There was a fire that burned most of the Uchiha's to their deaths. The tragedy made the young Uchiha's cherish what they had left. Even though they lived in a place comparable to hell they were happy. If they had each other they would always be happy.

"Blow out your candles Sasuke before they melt into the cake," Shisui whined wanting a piece of cake Itachi somehow got for Sasuke's eighteenth birthday. It was rare in Konohagakure. Most people couldn't even find a nice pastry in the country. Itachi and Shisui had taken a day off and the three had spent the whole day together for Sasuke's birthday and now they were gathered in the small living room around the cake as Sasuke blew out the three candles.

"Yay!" Shisui sheered while Itachi let out a small chuckle.

"You guys are so embarrassing," Sasuke muttered to himself he was an adult now when were they going to start treating him like one? The pale raven thought

"Oh, my sweet little brother" Itachi called to gain the young man's attention earning him a glare.

"Are you ready for your present?" Itachi then opened one of the kitchen cabinets to get out a shoebox. The question caught Sasuke by surprise. they had all agreed, with money being tight, that the only present they needed was to be with each other.

"W-What we don't have the money 'Tachi please don't tell me you bought something," Sasuke said wide-eyed.

"Lighten up Sassy Itachi and I saved up these couple of months so our money is fine," Shisui stated smiling brightly.

"Shisui's right now open your present," Itachi then put the box in front of the teen. Sasuke took a look at the two before hesitantly opening the box.

His mouth dropped when he saw what was inside.

There was a small book small enough to fit in a pocket but the words inside were something Sasuke had always wanted. The cover read 'My Journeys'. It was Koshilan Lynx journal of her adventures of the world outside of Konohagakure. She was the first human to travel the world and not die from a vampire. Instead, she lived a long fulfilling life and died peacefully in her sleep.

Sasuke could feel his eyes burning from holding back the tears as he jumped up to hug the two. Itachi and Shisui knew how badly Sasuke wanted to venture out into the world and since they couldn't get him that they got him the closest thing to that.

"Thank you, thank you so much you don't know how much this means!" Sasuke Thanked his voice muffled from the clothes of Itachi and Shisui. The three stayed like that, in each other's loving Embrace till the evening sun went down and a starless night arose. When they broke apart Shisui ran straight for the cake while Sasuke sat at the table and started to read.

Itachi looked at the sight of his family and smiled inwardly. Letting a small tear grace the side of his pale cheek. "I swear I'll protect you two with my life" Itachi whispered to himself as he sat down with the two in the living room. They spent the rest of the night in each other's presence before going to bed and going to sleep neither of them knowing what awaited them the next day.

Sasuke woke from his sleep to find Shisui's and Itachi's mattresses empty, which was not unusual for the raven. The two usually felt very early to go to their jobs. They worked as servants for a drug lord. Though the job was sketchy it was a great paying job.

Sasuke got out of bed and started his day as normal making his bed and cleaning the house and then started to make dinner for when Itachi and Shisui came home, only today would be a little different instead of spending the rest of the day in a book he would look for a job. He was eighteen, so he could finally get a job and started helping with finances. Sasuke always wanted to be useful to his family and finally contribute to sustaining the life they had. He finished cooking a bit early, so he would have time to get in and out of the city before Itachi or Shisui came back. He put his new book in his pocket and headed for the city.

The city had a nickname, the Black Hole because most people who went into the city normally fell into prostitution or were forced into becoming slaves It was a city of greed and broken people. But most of all people in the Black Hole were desperate. Desperate to get out of the city, and would do anything to lave. Maybe even desperate enough to hire someone with no experience Sasuke hoped as he looked around.

He walked around until he saw a crowd of people surrounding a stage cheering. Curiosity got the best of him and he got clumped into the sea of people. "Hey, do you know what going on?" Sasuke asked the tall skinny girl with an Afro.

"You haven't heard? About the new candidates being chosen?" The girl asked Shocked.

The candidates were a symbol of peace and understanding between the vampires and humans established in the early 1700s. Every year the vampire king would send his most trusted men to find one hundred people and take them outside of Konohagakure. Therefore, millions of people try to become a candidate, looking their finest when the soldiers showed up. Though there was a catch that made some not want to participate. Out of the one hundred humans, only ten would be chosen to stay with the king and the rest would be sent to their deaths. Well, that's what most people thought since they didn't really know what happens to the unpicked candidates. Though it was cruel the system worked. It kept the vampires from killing off all the humans in this world and gave hope for those who wished for more than a pathetic life in Konohagakure

"No, I thought that wasn't until next month?" Sasuke said back. Sasuke rarely ever left the compound and he didn't know much about the candidates. You'd think he'd want to get chosen so he can fulfill his dream, but the young raven didn't think he would be the 10% that lived. Even more important, he didn't want to leave his family

"No, it's happening now. There changing some rules, so they are sending a message on the stage that's why everyone's here," the woman supplied before facing the stage, as a man with grey hair in and masked covered up most of his face. He went straight to the microphone and gave it a tap making the crowd go quiet. He cleared his throat before speaking

"Hello people of Konohagakure I am Kakashi Hatake and I am here on behalf of the lord of vampires, Naruto Uzumaki, I have been sent here to inform you, people, that this year of candidates will not be chosen by volunteers but by anyone who is alive...even the unwilling. This year we will go to every single house to look for the finest blood this city has to offer. That is all"

the man then casually walked off the stage leaving the people with mixed feelings. Murmurs in the crowd started but Sasuke didn't mind, the notice was for the people in the city, right? Not out in the countryside.

Sasuke got back to the house at around seven with all his high hopes demolished. No one wanted him for anything not even for cleaning toilets. He was truly an utter failure. He couldn't get a job, he couldn't help the two he loved most in any way except cooking and cleaning.

He needed something to take his mind off his depressing thoughts, so he took out his book in his pocket and sat in the bedroom he shared with Itachi and Shisui and read till he heard the door open and Shisui's obnoxious loud laugh echo throughout the house. "We're home Sassy!" Shisui yelled. Itachi said a quiet I'm home and Sasuke entered to greet them.

"How was work you two?" Sasuke asked as he started to set the dinner table.

"The same as always... well the boss hit jackpot and gave everyone a raise," Itachi said with a shrug as he sat down.

"That's great! why do you not seem to care?"

Shisui started bursting out in laughter "Because Tachi was the only one who didn't get a raise since he was at the bathroom while boss said it" Shisui wheezed out. Itachi hit the man irritated.

"It's not funny how was I supposed to know the one time I use the restroom he gives everyone a raise?" Itachi ranted. A small smile played on Sasuke's lips. It wasn't very often he saw his brother get so riled up.

Though the moment was ruined when they heard huge bangs on the door which was strange since hardly anyone visited the Uchiha's. They all were dead silent giving each other questioning looks. Itachi slowly got up and opened the door slightly. There stood two men wearing the royal vampire crest "Sorry to disrupt but we are here to see if any of you are fit to become a candidate," One of them said. Sasuke recognized the one that spoke. He was the same person who gave that speech back in the city Sasuke thought.

"We don't want to be candidates," Itachi cut in. He was about to close the door when a shoe stopped him.

"I hate to inform but it wasn't a request," the grey-haired man said leaning into the almost closed door. Itachi studied the situation then reluctantly backed up inviting them into their home. The three Uchiha's stood defensively in front of the vampires waiting for them to be given orders. "Now this won't take long I just need a drop of your blood as you fill in questions on the sheet I'm about to give you. The process is pretty simple if your blood is suitable for being a candidate we will take you with us if not you live as normal" the masked man said in a bored tone almost as if he was exhausted from this. The three nodded and pricked their first finger and put their blood in small plastic bags the other vampire gave them.

Sasuke was nervous, thinking about every worst-case scenario. The raven was trembling even as he was filling his sheet. But then he felt a hand squeeze his shoulder. He looked to the side and saw Itachi giving him a comforting look. It was going to be fine no matter what the outcome Sasuke said to himself, now he just had to believe it. By the time all three were done the sun had set and chilly night began. The two vampires left their house to 'test' the blood while the Uchiha's waited anxiously.

"What will we do if one or all of us are chosen?" Sasuke questioned quietly to Itachi, but all the man did was stare aimlessly at the ground.

"It's okay Sassy no matter what we'll always be a family," Shisui filled in for Itachi. He put on his best smile but Sasuke could see the tension in his eyes. They froze when they heard the door crack back open.

"Well, it seems one of you make the cut," The grey-haired vampire spoke. "A Sasuke Uchiha? Which one of you is that?" Sasuke was so shaken up he didn't even comprehend anything after his name until he heard Itachi say it was him. Both Shisui's and Sasuke's eyes widened. No, he couldn't just let his brother do this. He has been protecting him all his life now it was his turn to protect.

"He's lying I'm Sasuke take me," Sasuke said as he stepped in front of Itachi who gave him a look like he ruined the world. The two vampires in the room gave each other a look then started to walk up to Sasuke.

"NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING! IM SASUKE PLEASE TAKE ME!" Itachi cried. He ran up to the vampires with a hidden knife and tried to fight them but was quickly knocked out. Then the vampires turned to look at Shisui who just sat in his chair head held low but not low enough to not see tears streaming down his face.

the soldier griped on to Sasuke's arm and was about to head out when Sasuke stopped him. "Can I first say bye to my brother and cousin?" Sasuke gave him a pleading look. the soldier sighed.

"Fine but make it quick I have a lot of other candidates to find,"

Sasuke then ran up to Shisui. "I'll be okay I promise I love you and tell Itachi that I love him too... I'll find a way back," Sasuke whispered into Shisui's ear as Shisui enclosed him with a hug.

"I'm so sorry," Were the only words Shisui could choke up.

"Times up let's go," The grey-haired vampire said annoyed.

"Can't I take some clothes with me?" Sasuke asked hopefully.

"No, you can't bring anything, or it will be thrown away when you get to quarantine," Sasuke nodded and said one last goodbye to Shisui and kissed the top of Itachi's unconscious body the left with the vampires trying his best to keep back the tears.

They walked from the countryside to the Blackhole and the grey-haired soldier called a cab but when it arrived he didn't step in. "Jugo, take the human to the ship then meet me at the capital of this disgusting place if we're lucky we'll find the last few in that city then we can leave," The grey-haired man said with a sigh as he backed away.

"Yes sir," the vampire know as Jugo said as he pushed Sasuke into the back of the car. During the car ride, the unexpected happened when Jugo opened his mouth.

"I'm sorry you were chosen, this is my first time being in the humans land and I thought you guys would be grateful when you're chosen... that's what they told us, but you look anything from that right now,"

Sasuke looked as if he'd just seen a ghost eyes wide and struck still. Did this vampire just say that? Sasuke thought as he took a better look at the guy. He was big and tall with shaggy orange hair. "Well if you're so sorry let me go back to my home," Sasuke shot back, arms crossed.

"I'm under orders so I can't but I am allowed to tell you about where we're going," Jugo said smiling kindly. Sasuke wasn't convinced.

"Why are you being so nice to me?"

Jugo blinked. "I just don't find it right to treat people less than how you treat yourself because maybe in another world things are switched," Sasuke wondered if this guy was actually being a nice person or vampire in this case or just messing with him.

"Yeah, other worlds and shit...look your kind of creeping me out so if you really want to help me face the window and don't say anything," Jugo's smile faltered a little but non the less turned and didn't say a word for the rest of the ride. Sasuke knew he was being rude but he didn't care, this man took him from his family, and right now he was stressed and needed peace and quiet.

When they got to the docks Sasuke couldn't help but look in awe as he saw the shoreline and the massive ocean the moonlight seemed to be hitting the ocean in all the right places making it look so beautiful. He had read in a book about the ocean but seeing it for himself was much more amazing. "You look so fascinated on something so simple why?" Jugo asked in curiosity.

"Well if you must know I've never seen the ocean, hell I haven't seen anything out of the city. Most of us never get the chance" the sadness in Sasuke's voice told Jugo not to pry anymore.

Jugo led Sasuke to the massive ship. It was a dark brown on the outside but when you went in everything was in a fancy green color. Sasuke could see other vampires drinking and laughing together. They walked down a long haul before going down a flight of stairs below the deck leading to where the candidates were. Below the place was horrid. Barely any space to fit one hundred people. It was dark and only one light in the center of the ceiling, though Most everyone seemed happy to be there, they were getting a chance of 'freedom'. "This is where we part you will be down here for a while, so I suggest you get comfortable," Jugo said sweetly. Sasuke nodded still taken back by the man's attitude. Jugo closed and locked Sasuke with the candidates.

Sasuke didn't feel like talking to people who more than half would die when they got to their destination. He found an empty corner and decided that's where he would be for the rest of the ride. He pressed his back against the wooden wall and slid down. He closed his eyes and started to think about Itachi and Shisui he hoped they were fine without him. Then like a light bulb going off in his head he remembered the journal he got for his birthday. Quickly he reached for his pocket and sighed in relief as he felt the small book under his fingertips. He carefully took it out and opened to where he left off making him drown in the entrancing words about the outside world.

A few moments later Sasuke felt a light tap on his shoulder. Sasuke looked up to see a short girl, pale as paper with long green hair and bright hazel eyes. "Hi there, I was wondering if you could read to me?" The girl asked as he knelt now to Sasuke's level.

"You're just a child what are you doing as a candidate?" Sasuke asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"My Mommy wanted me to be with my brother, so she paid someone to make sure that I would become a candidate," She said dreamily.

"...and where is your brother?"

"He's in a place called heaven well that's what my mommy said so now I'm going to heaven too."

Sasuke looked at the girl in complete sorrow for her. "Do you know what candidates do?" Sasuke asked.

"Of course, we are the ones who go to heaven and live happily ever after." She said as if it were a proven fact.

"What's your name?"

"Nezumi"

"Yes, Nezumi I'll read to you"

The girl beamed in happiness and leaned on Sasuke as he started to read aloud. It took exactly twenty days for the ship to reach the royal docks of Embercott. Between that time the candidates had each joined groups and had grown accustomed to the new way of living on the ship. In such a tight space, there wasn't much to do, so the humans came up with games and things to do to pass time. They were fed once a day and there was a bucket filled with water every day. When it was time to sleep people would huddle together to get each other's body heat. Though the circumstances weren't ideal it was much better treatment than what most people got back in Konohagakure.

Sasuke missed Itachi and Shisui dearly but with the spunky girl known as Nezumi, the voyage wasn't as bad. She always asked questions and wanted to play or read. There was never a dull moment with her and Sasuke slowly got attached to the child. "Sasuke! Sasuke! We're here we're finally going to see the world." Nezumi jumped excitedly.

"Calm down you're going to shake the whole ship jumping like that" Sasuke sweatdropped.

"I can't help it! All the things in that book seem so magical!" She squealed.

"Did you forget the reason we're here? We're candidates don't forget that."

During the sailing of the ship, Sasuke had told Nezumi the truth about candidates being only good for the king if you are chosen and told her that her brother was dead but still in heaven, well if you believed in heaven. It took Nezumi a while to process that her whole life had been a lie and that her brother was dead, but she learned how to cope with the help of Sasuke. He also told her the great stories of the world beyond Konohagakure.

"Yeah I guess you're right," Nezumi said her mood darkening. She turned to face him her eyes watering. "...Sasuke will you die? Will I die? Will we ever see each other after this? I don't want to leave you... I-" She was cut off mid-sentence when Sasuke took her in for a hug

"Don't think about all that... we're about to see the world let's just focus on that," Sasuke said as he stroked the green silky hair. Before Nezumi had the time to reply the door opened letting the sunshine from outside fill up the room. A vampire Sasuke didn't recognize stood in front of it.

"Alright, you will come out one by one and will be given a number tag as you exit. You will not speak, switch numbers with anyone or try to escape or you will be killed on spot. Now that everyone understands let's begin." The people started rushing to get to the front pushing and shoving to be number one. Nezumi was about to go to when Sasuke grabbed her hand.

"Let's wait a while okay?" Sasuke asked.

"If you say so..." She sat down and started to play with her hair.

As time went by most people were out of the room and Sasuke thought now would be good to leave. "Come one let's get our tags," Sasuke said as he got up.

She followed and headed toward the line in front of the door. "98," the vampire said as he handed Nezumi her tag. "99" then gave Sasuke his tag. They walked on to the deck of the ship then walked across a small bridge that was connected to the land. Sasuke and Nezumi followed the people in front of them as they went into a tunnel outside of the bridge. Which was quite disappointing because they barely saw anything outside. Suddenly the line stopped, and someone spoke from the speakers installed into the tunnel. "Numbers 90 to 100 will wait five minutes before you will be driven to the palace," everyone sighed impatiently as they waited.

A tourist bus pulled up in front of them and they were ordered to get on. Sasuke sat in between Nezumi and a big buff guy who seemed excited.

The person in the driver's seat was bubbly and cheerful. "Hello, passengers welcome to Embercott. I am your host Ten Ten and will be giving you the exclusive tour of Embercott and will be giving you some background information on how vampires live and what part you humans play in our lives. Feel free to ask any questions," She exclaimed as she started to drive off.

"Embercott is home to the original vampires now known as the royal family. And is full of exotic species and natural plants. The royal family owns every single country outside of Konohagakure and is known for their enormous strength, but the royal family needs human blood in order to be at their strongest, unlike us normal vampires where even with human blood stay at the same strength. Oh! Fun fact vampires don't need human blood to survive it's just a myth but there's something in your blood that's just so addictive we vampires can't stop our selves from getting a taste of your blood, which is why in the early 1700s humans started to become extinct so in 1758 to keep humans alive the royal family put a ban on humans in Konohagakure so that's why every year 100 candidates are sent over here. Ten out of the one hundred stay at the kingdom and the rest of you... well, you'll see. In brighter news, we are about to approach the end of the tunnel and you will see the country of Embercott."

When the tour bus drove out of the tunnel at first Sasuke was blinded by the bright sun since they had been in that bark tunnel for so long. Squinting his eyes Sasuke waited for his eyes to adjust to the change in lighting. When Sasuke could properly see he gasped loudly. his breath was taken away as he saw the magical place called Embercott.

They were driving on a thin road with a cliff next to in showing the deep ocean view which seemed to be sparkling aqua. To the other side of the road was a thick forest filled with wildlife so beautiful you could cry. The sky was a light blue with fluffy white clouds scattered everywhere. You could see the magnificent birds and dragons dancing across the sky with their powerful wings as they gave loud shrieked each one different in their own way. Sasuke has always thought he knew true beauty in life, but he was wrong this was what real beauty looked like. It was better than the books, nothing could ever compare unless you saw the real thing.

Sasuke was afraid to blink in fear it might all go away. He then felt a familiar tap on his shoulder. He looked over to Nezumi who smiled and gave a look before saying. "Sasuke I don't think I've ever been this happy in my life,"

"I know it's even more beautiful than I had imagined," Sasuke agreed as he stared in awe at everything.

"Well candidates, Embercott is known for their beautiful species of dragons but don't get to close their especially dangerous. We won't be in the countryside for long, only about seven minutes then we'll enter the city of gold. Throughout the city, there are pieces of pure gold in the ground's surface quite a great sight. The city holds the most population in Embercott and is very busy so don't mind the traffic. When we get to the palace there will be a man with the royal crest to show what to do next. Any questions?" Everyone shook their heads so she continued to talk about the world and how vampires lived.

When they reached the front of the city there was a big golden gate which through the bars you could see a thriving city. Ten Ten got out of the car and did something Sasuke's eyes couldn't catch but it opened the gate and they set off to the palace. Sasuke could see from his seat vampires living their daily lives and when they stopped at a light the small pieces of beautiful gold in the ground. Everything was clean and neat in this city nothing like the Black Hole and most of the people here seemed happy.

When they got to the palace Sasuke's mouth almost dropped when he saw how massive and tall the place was. The palace colors were whites' greens and golds which seemed to be the theme in Embercott. There were two fountains in front of a beautiful garden filled with all kinds of flowers. There were guards everywhere with the golden royal crest on their chest on top of their green and white uniforms.

"Okay this is where you can step out now I hope you had a wonderful time looking seeing Embercott," She gave everyone a big smile as they exited through the doors. Sasuke saw the hesitant walk of Nezumi so he took her hand and squeezed it as a secret 'it's going to be fine'. The ten candidates were lined up from 90 to 100 as they waited for instructions.

"Listen up after we take you to quarantine we are going to take you to the king and you will respectfully bow to him and say thank you for giving this opportunity and you will then you will wait patiently as he inspects you to see if you're worthy of being a Giver to the king," A royal guard said as he led them into the castle. Sasuke thought the outside of the kingdom was impressive, but it couldn't even compare to the inside. Hell, the outside looked like complete trash compared to the inside. The white marble floor along the golden statues gave it a museum feeling and the ceilings were covered in hand-painted beautiful art. The walls were tall and spotless. There were many doors that led to god knows what.

As they were led to quarantine they were each told to get in a stall and strip putting all their belongings in a bin. Sasuke reluctantly put his small book in the bin. It was like he was losing the only connection with Shisui and Itachi.

The guards then came around handing them clothing. They were told to dress in clothing that probably cost more than their life. Sasuke was given a classic black tuxedo and a white button-up and to top it all off with a black bow on his neck. When Sasuke finished dressing he quickly took his book from the bin and put it into one of his pockets.

"Okay, I will call you guys by number, when you hear your number lineup. ninety...ninety-one." A royal guard shouted to all the candidates as they were in the changing rooms. when Sasuke's number was called he stepped out and saw Nezumi in a fluffy dark red dress with black gloves and flats.

"You look so beautiful," Sasuke whispered to her with a smile.

She blushed from embarrassment but gave a grateful smile. "I'm so glad I met you if I die I won't be sad because you showed me how to be happy Sasuke, we saw the world and I could not ask for more," she said tearily as she gave him a hug. Normally Sasuke would push her off and tell her to quit being emotional but, it felt like they were never going to see each other again. He hugged her back tightly.

"You're so young Nezumi you don't deserve this, I'm so sorry. you've become like the little sister I never had," Sasuke said sadly as she cried into his chest.

"Hey, break it up you two," A royal guard said as he got between Sasuke and Nezumi. The other candidates watched silently as they saw the two being held by guards. "If you two do that again we won't hesitate to kill you." They both nodded and went back in the line.

They waited for the last candidate to leave the dressing room then the doors opened and then walked in to stand in front of the king. "Lord Uzumaki we have the last ten candidates with your blessing we would like you to choose the last three to be Givers." The blonde king just grunted in boredom. Sasuke was a little surprised at how young he looked. No older than 25. He was on top of the thrown wearing his golden crown crooked on his head, his blue eyes shining in contrast to the tan handsome face with three marks that looked like whiskers. The king had a white and gold cape over his royal attire being held together by the royal crest.

The candidates lined down in a row and bowed down in respect as they all said their thanks to the king and waited for the king to speak. Sasuke held his head low in hopes he wouldn't get picked. He would rather die than become a slave to the vampire that took him away from his family. He stared at the ground and froze when he heard the voice of the king. It was a deep and authoritative tone sending shivers down Sasuke's back. "

You...I want you, number 99." The king said as he pointed to Sasuke. Sasuke's heart stopped as he stared wide-eyed at the expensive floor before he regained his composure. 'Calm down' he told himself. He mustered up all the confidence he had and glared at the blue-eyed king.

"No," Sasuke said as loud as he could. Everyone stared at him with wide eyes some even gasped.

At first, the king was just as shocked as everybody else, but that soon turned into amusement. The blonde king gave Sasuke a wicked smirk. "Did you really just say no to me? A king?" The king asked.

"Yes," Sasuke said as he kept his face completely blank but, on the inside, he was freaking out. The king burst out laughing as he slapped his knee.

"Aw man you're funny..." he said as he wiped his eyes. "Guards take him to the Givers house" He then said in an all serious tone. It was kind of scary how fast the king could change emotions so quickly, though on the inside the king was grinning like a mad man 'he'll be fun' the blonde king thought as he watched Sasuke leave.

The guards proceeded to take Sasuke, but he started to fight back. "I said no I'd rather die than become anything for you." Sasuke sneered as he tried to fight off the guards. Sadly, his attempts failed as more the guards outnumbered him and forced him outside the room and started to head to the Givers house.

Sasuke had two guards holding each of his shoulders as he was taken to the Givers house. It felt like forever walking through different buildings throughout the palace to Sasuke, but they eventually made it in front of the gates of the Givers home which Sasuke called bullshit, it was more like a mansion surrounded by a tall fence. The royal guards held a small card before the front gates opened then they went to the front doors. One of the guards opened it and everyone inside stopped what they were doing. "Where is Iruka?" One of the guards asked.

"I'm right here... do we have another Giver?" Iruka questioned.

"Yep here you go." The guards practically threw Sasuke to him and headed out.

"Sorry about them they're never nice to anyone," Iruka smiled Apologetically. Sasuke didn't respond and just continued to stare. "...Well, I'm Iruka and I'm in charge of the house nice to meet you," Iruka gave out his hand to shake but Sasuke didn't return it.

"Sasuke" was the only thing he said back.

"Okay, Sasuke well I'll show you where you will sleep and what it's like to be a giver," Iruka said as he started to walk ignoring the stares the other people in the house gave them.

"As a giver, you can do whatever you like as long as it's in the house only the most trusted Givers are allowed outside the house the exception being if the king asked for your presence then you are also allowed to leave. You must give 5lb of blood to the king each month if you don't meet that requirement you will be taken away. There are two hundred and three Givers living here at the moment so I'm sure you'll find someone who you can befriend." Iruka said as they walked down a haul way. They stopped at door and Iruka pulled out a key and opened it.

"This will be your room that will be shared with your roommate named Suigetsu. If you have any questions just ask for me and I will try my best to help. If you're hungry I'm sure their leftovers from dinner, breakfast starts at seven and ends at ten I'm sure your roommate will tell you all the things you need to adjust," Iruka said as he was about to leave.

"I have a question actually..." Sasuke said quietly. Iruka smile kindly and hummed in encouragement. "How do I stop being a Giver." Iruka was taken back by this question he'd never been asked that before.

"If you break any of the rules which are in the book on your bed you could be taken away, but I wouldn't advise that it doesn't end well for people who break the rules," Iruka explained.

"Oh, okay then," Sasuke shrugged.

"If that's all I'll be on my way," Iruka said as he waved Sasuke off.

When the door shut Sasuke let out a sigh and looked at the new place he would be calling 'home'. There were two king-sized beds on each corner of the room, a tv, and two walk-in bathrooms. Sasuke laid on the bed that had the window right beside it and began to think about his hectic day. He hoped that Nezumi was okay somehow and that his family back in Konohagakure were doing fine.

All Sasuke wanted was to see the people he loved again by any means necessary even if it meant escaping this place. Yes, Sasuke would just escape this place find Nezumi and go back home to Itachi and Shisui... if only it was as easy as it sounded Sasuke thought. But now wasn't the time to be thinking about that, he first needed some rest tomorrow he would start his planning. Sasuke then hugged himself as he closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep. He didn't know how much his life would change after that day. He also didn't know that he just met the love of his life...
