Chapter 14: Accidents Happen

Sighing, I step out of my car and make my way towards my house- I mean, mine and Jungkook's house. As I open the door I am greeted with a mess that only men in their 20s were capable of making. All of the members were missing except for one.

"JEON JUNGKOOK!" I yell and he immediately wakes up. He stumbles over and falls face first on the floor.

"What was that for?!" he asked and I just shook my head at him while pointing at the mess in the house.

"How do you manage to make this big of a mess in a house like this?!"

"I-I swear I don't know what even happened!"

"Really? Well if you don't know what happened then explain why you're holding an empty bottle on soju." he looks down at the glass bottle he's holding and looks at me with guilt in his eyes.

"I-I, Uh-"

"Get the members and all of you clean this up!" he quickly nods and rushes to get upstairs towards the bedrooms.

A few minutes later I heard the sound of heavy steps rushing down the stairs and all I could do was glare at them while they stood in front of me with their bed hair and guilty looks.

"Do you guys realize how big of a mess this is? All of you are cleaning this up right now! You too Namjoon,"

"Yes ma'am,"

"I'll get the chef to make you guys hangover soup after you clean this mess up and if you don't clean it you'll be dead-" the sound of my phone ringing cut me off and I quickly take it out while signaling the guys to start cleaning.

"Is there a problem at the hospital?" I ask worriedly. I've been away for too long and by the sounds of it, everything was out of order.

"We don't want to worry you Miss, but yes, there are big problems at the hospital right now. I know this is out of line because you are still recovering but we need you here Doctor Kim."

"Don't worry I'm on my way." I quickly run upstairs and change my clothes after hanging up and proceed to rush towards the front door to get outside.

"Jee! Are you okay? Is there something wrong?" Namjoon asked me.

"Everything's okay, I just have to fix some things at the hospital, but it's not a big deal."

"Hey, I'm your brother, I know where something is wrong. I'll call mom and dad and I'll tell them to go over there now. Be careful of your wound and please stay safe."

"Thank you Namjoon, I'll stay safe don't worry." he smiled at me and I quickly rushed towards my car and made my way towards the hospital.

Third person POV

Jungkook notices the conversation between the siblings and he couldn't help but worry himself. He makes his way towards Namjoon after seeing Jee leave in a rush, worry and guilt written all over his face.

"Hyung, is everything okay?"

"No, but she'll be able to fix it," the younger boy looks at his brother-in-law confused.

"What? What do you mean?"

"Family business things, the usual."

"But don't your parents handle your hospital?" Namjoon shook his head at Jungkook's question with his eyes filled with sadness.

"As you know, we both come from families of doctors and they own their own hospitals. I was supposed to inherit the family hospital, but since I pursued music Jee was the next one in line. In our grandfather's will he wrote that after he died, Jee would take over the family business as soon as she got married and it was sooner than we expected it to be." the older boy explained and Jungkook finally knew why Jee had been going through so much stress and why everyone at that hospital knew the Kim siblings.

"So you're saying, she's been handling your family's hospital ever since our wedding?"

"You can put it that way, yes. That's why I'm asking you Jungkook, as my best friend and as Jee's husband, promise me you'll take care of her. I know she's hard headed, but she's been through a lot and I don't want her going through any more problems. I just want my sister to be happy, and I know it may not seem like it but she cares about you too."

"I promise hyung."

"Thank you."

"But will she need help? I am a doctor too, maybe I can help her while I'm still on vacation."

"She might need some help, so if you want to, you can go to the hospital right now and I'll meet you there once I get ahold of my parents. I'll get someone to clean this mess up so Jee doesn't kill us later." Jungkook chuckled and nodded. He rushed towards his room and got changed into more presentable clothes.

While making his way downstairs he stopped in front of Jee's room and noticed a red envelope sitting on her desk. He knew it was wrong to invade her privacy but curiosity got the best of him and he headed inside to get the envelope.

KIM AE JEE was written in bold white letters and there were parts of the envelope that were damp. He touched the damp spots and noticed it was blood by the red stain that was now on his fingertips. He quickly opened the envelope and found a card with droplets of blood seeping through the thick cardstock. He opened it and saw a picture of a young woman in her early 20s walking towards a restaurant. He thought nothing of it until he saw the note that came along with it that read "ah the good old days, I think you still remember exactly what happened on this day my dear Jee." MX

"Who the hell is MX?" Jungkook mumbled to himself. He put the card back inside the envelope after hearing footsteps from the staircase.

"Hey Kook, I thought you were going to the hospital? Namjoon hyung already left." Jimin said while leaning against the doorframe.

"Oh- right, I'm on my way right now." Jungkook said trying his best to keep himself calm. He stuffed his hands in his pocket to hide the blood and started making his way towards the door when Jimin's question suddenly caused him to stop.

"But, what are you doing in Jee's room?"

"I thought I left something here last night, but it turns out I didn't. I'll see you later." Jimin nodded and Jungkook made his way out of Jee's room and rushed towards his car.

"Does she know about this?" he mumbled to himself.

Jee's POV

I rush inside the hospital and immediately go into the emergency elevator to get to my office faster. I couldn't stop thinking about the situation I had witnessed at the first floor of the hospital. Everything was a mess and there were a lot of patients who needed immediate care from the doctors. Apparently there had been a building that collapsed in the nearby area and many patients needed to be rushed to the hospital, but we could only handle so many at a time.

After arriving at my office I contacted the vice president of the hospital and told him to send a medical team and supplies to the site of the accident for those patients who can be treated at the scene and be transferred after the amount of severely injured patients had decreased. The cause of the collapse was still unknown, but it wasn't a natural disaster like an earthquake because the whole city would've been affected.

After putting on my doctor's coat, I quickly rushed towards the emergency rooms area that contained the most patients.

"What's the situation with this patient?" I ask one of the nurses and quickly get my stethoscope out to check his pulse.

"He fractured his shoulder and there are signs of possible paraplegia, he needs to be treated this instant so there will be no further damage." I nodded and rushed him inside one of the operating rooms available.

Third Person POV

Jungkook quickly rushes inside the hospital and is greeted with such chaos. There were injured patients being rushed inside the hospital, doctors and nurses running around trying to mend the situation as best as they can and there were families rushing inside trying to get information from the doctors. He ran a hand through his hair and quickly rushed towards the vice president that was walking out of an elevator.

"Excuse me! I'm Dr. Jeon, Dr. Kim's husband. I'm here to provide any assistance that's needed." Jungkook said to the vice president and he nodded.

"The current situation is not good, a building nearby collapsed and nobody knows the cause. There are many injured people, but no other building went down with it. The fall was a bit strange, but they're investigating the scene as we speak."

"What can I do to help?"

"We need doctors at the site to treat patients who have more minor injuries and can be taken to the hospital later. There are hospitals being contacted throughout the city, but right now we need all the help we can get on the site."

"Okay, I'll go there right now."

"Thank you for your help Dr. Jeon, the police and military are being contacted to help with the rescue mission." Jungkook nodded and rushed towards his car. The supplies would've been sent to the site already so he didn't bother getting anything else.

Upon arriving at the scene he couldn't help but gasp. There were workers helping their colleagues who were injured and tried to get them out of the dangerous spots. The police and soldiers were frantically running around trying to save as many people as they could, carrying patients on stretchers and getting them out of the dangerous spaces. The bottom of the building had been completely crushed by the top and it looked as if it just crumbled until it was small enough to fall over without damaging the other buildings around it. Dust flew everywhere, the machinery and supplies had been completely destroyed by the impact and the whole situation was just very tragic overall. There were medics and ambulances parked all over the area and the patients were immediately taken to hospitals all over the city.

Jungkook ran towards two medics carrying a patient towards the tents set up for treating patients and quickly inspected the injured man. He was unconscious and blood started to trickle down his head, staining his clothes with blood.

"He is in shock and is severely concussed. He needs to get operated on immediately before the situation gets worse, get him to Jeon hospital right now and tell them to get the patient in the OR immediately and it is a strict order from Dr. Jeon, hurry, there's not much time!" the medics nodded and immediately got inside an ambulance with the patient.

"Hello? Yes, this is Dr. Jeon, please organize the hospital for injured patients who are arriving in a short while. Contact every doctor we have and tell them to immediately go to the hospital. I don't care if they're doing something else. Their jobs are to save people and they took an oath, no excuses. Understood?" he quickly hung up the phone and rushed towards the other injured patients.

In another hospital in the city, Jee was busy operating patient after patient. Her wound was starting to open up due to the amount of work she was doing with her arm, but she couldn't just drop the knife and let the patient die. She was exhausted to say the least, but she couldn't give up. There were many doctors and hospitals all over the city that were helping, but there were also many patients that needed to be treated.

"Contact Dr. Kim Namjoon after this patient, and tell him to come to the OR if he doesn't have a patient. I need to speak with him about the current situation." the nurse beside her nodded and they finished up operating on the patient and sent him to one of the recovery rooms.

"Dr. Kim, he is on his way here."

"Okay, thank you."

"Ma'am, you're bleeding, are you alright? I can contact someone to treat you."

"I'm alright, I'll get treated later after I speak with Dr. Kim Namjoon."

"I'm already here, so get your wound treated before it causes dangers to you and your patients." Namjoon's voice startled Jee which caused her to jump slightly. The nurse bowed at the two doctors before hurriedly rushing towards another patient that came in. They started making their way towards one of the rooms that were being unused for now and Namjoon quickly got the things he needed to fix Jee's wound.

"Come with me, you need stitches and you can't do any more operations today. You're tired and you are hurt, so let us handle it okay?" Jee could only look at her brother in disbelief because she knew there was no point in arguing with him.

"Joon, I need to help patients, I took an oath and I will not go against that."

"Yes you took an oath, but part of it wasn't to endanger yourself and your patient. You need to think this through, because if you get hurt even more then you won't be able to save your patients."

"Yes I understand, but-"

"Jee, almost every hospital in the city is here to help, there are also medics on the site to treat patients that aren't severely injured and can be treated there."

"You're right, but Joon, there were over one hundred people at that construction site, maybe even almost two hundred. There are many who are severely injured and many that may potentially die. I want to help, even if I do minor things, I will help. I can go to the site and treat patients there after this. Just please- let me help." Namjoon looked at his sister and sighed.

"No, Jee, you stay here and help patients with minor injuries, besides, Jungkook is already at the site helping patients as we speak, don't worry. He's a very good doctor, just like you."

"Okay fine- wait, who did you just say was at the site?"
