When Spinel leaves the Garden, she is horrified by the war and stricken with grief when Pink/Rose gives up her form to create a new life; Steven. Deciding to keep her promise, Spinel swore on her life to love and protect Steven through their many adventures with Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl.
