Kimarhi fought hard and in the end, won. I had a feeling that I hadn't changed too much by being there, but I had to know for sure. So when Kimarhi won, I was glad. And as soon as Yuna and her guardians caught up, we moved on. At each stone Lulu explained a bit more about the stone and what they meant, while Zaon told his brother about the history of the mountain that the Ronso had told him.
"When Zanarkand was destroyed, the trials appeared to test summoners and guardians." Zaon told Sora with pride. And Sora soaked up every word. Ben stayed close to me without saying a word. The climb was trying to say the least, but soon we were about to hit the spot that Seymour would have appeared. This might be a problem, I thought to myself. And I was right.
As soon as we were able to see the overhang, we saw Guado waiting for us. Yuna spotted them first. And when she cried out, her guardians surrounded her. Ben, Sora, and Zaon all surrounded me, at least until I sent them to Yuna.
"Lord Seymour's wishes were that Lady Yuna wed him. Instead, he was sent to the farplane. By you. Now you shall join him!" The one Guado that stepped up yelled. Tidus brandished his sword, and Rikku ran towards the Guado. I screamed that Rikku needed to steal from the Guado before anyone attacked. And they listened. Rikku stole an X-Potion from each of the five Guado that were attacking. Yuna kept Rikku healed, while everyone else defended. Once Rikku called out that she was done stealing, I started barking out orders.
"Sora, Lulu, Yuna, Zaon, and Wakka! Stay behind the others. Everyone else, front line and attack!" I told everyone. Zaon pulled out a spear, and ran to stand beside Kimarhi. After yelling sorry to me, Zaon attacked the nearest Guado. Tidus didn't need to be told twice, and neither did Auron. They followed Zaon, while Sora and Lulu started casting the highest level spells they knew. Wakka protected Yuna and I, mostly because we were the healers. It took about two hours to defeat the Guado and the fiends they had summoned. And we didn't even have to summon an aeon.
After the battle, it was starting to get dark so we decided to rest there for the night. Morning came all too soon, and we were off. Fayth Scar was before the trials, and Tidus would faint. But I was more worried about the Guardian to come. That was going to be troublesome. So when we got to the Fayth Scar, I was ready to catch Tidus as he fell. And fall he did. He touched the Fayth, and down he went. Yuna and Rikku both called out to him, trying to wake him.
He woke up twenty minutes after he fainted. After checking to see if he was alright, we continued to the trials. The first trial was only able to completed by Wakka. Or so I thought. As soon as Wakka hit the center, it changed to a different trial. One that needed magic to complete. Sora stepped up, and cast a powerful spell. It took a couple of tries, But we were able to press on. The second trial was the underwater trial. So the only one I knew might be able to do it was Ben. He agreed, and dived with Wakka, Tidus, and Rikku.
The rest of us waited for them. It took about twenty minutes but when the rumble shook the cave, we knew they had succeeded. They came back a little beat up, so Yuna and I quickly healed them. The path to the summit was open, and we climbed it. Before we made it to the top, I suggested we wait and rest. Yuna quickly agreed, as she looked tired too. Once we were ready and rested, we moved to the last trial before Zanarkand.
As soon as we got to the summit, the guardian appeared. We took our positions, with Yuna and I behind the others. Rikku stole a mega-potion and a farplane wind from the guardian, as the others attacked. I couldn't keep track of how long we were in battle because I was too busy healing everyone with Yuna. But eventually, the guardian fell. Yuna and I were ready to see Zanarkand, so we pressed on. Yuna didn't know, but she lost her sphere that she made for after the defeat of Sin. And Tidus picked it up. Tidus hung back to watch it, while the rest of us moved to take our first look at Zanarkand.
