Hi Everyone! Thanks for clicking on my story to read! I deeply appreciate it. You know with the recent news that Inuyasha is going to continue, I thought about writing a story that might perhaps come before the new one that's going to be following Inuyasha and Sesshomaru's daughters. I know a lot of you are excited, as am I. Keep in mind, this is just an idea I have and not reflective of actual truth, but I'm hoping some of you will like the idea of it possibly happening this way. With that said, please enjoy! Feel free to show some love if you feel like it! Thank you!

The day was dark with clouds gathering after several days of sunshine. The sound of thunder could be heard in the distance. There were many trees everywhere. Some of them even looked scary with the way their razor sharp branches looked further in the forest. The main river that flowed through the land was wild, choppy and flowing fast. It was rather dirty with particles of dirt and debris. It hadn't been swam in for weeks. Everyone was afraid of catching a disease as it had been labeled unsafe by village officials not too long ago. There was a village nearby and the children who lived there would usually gather round the edge of the river, looking for rocks or little creatures. The mothers would rarely watch them as the village they lived in and the surrounding area had been safe from demons for a long time. They were aware of how dangerous demons could be but chose not to worry or rehearse what to do should one ever show up again. Foolish? Perhaps. However, they didn't see them as a threat anymore, or rather they just wanted to live their lives without fear.
Unfortunately, they were in for a rude awakening. Trouble was coming, and it was coming at top speed. Literally.
A loud roar echoed through the peaceful land just then. It came from within the trees in the forest and nobody could see it yet, but a rather large, ugly blue demon with yellow eyes was running fast. It kicked up dirt with its feet and kept making its demonic noises as it got closer. The demon, who was about the size of an elephant, was looking for a tasty lunch and the children were the unlucky choice of the day. The poor children heard it and panicked. They hadn't rehearsed what to do should they ever face one. It had been so long since one had appeared and threatened the people. As the children huddled together, the mothers ran out from the village houses and attempted to shield the kids from any danger that was to come. They could run inside the house but knew that would be pointless as they knew the demon would probably come in after them and tear them all to shreds. Some of the kiddos were crying and the mothers too. What were they to do? As they braced themselves for the worst and watched the opening in the trees where they heard the noise of the demon...nothing. Absolutely nothing was coming. There was no more noise from the demon either. Complete silence. They all exchanged glances but didn't know what to make of it.
A tall individual with golden eyes and long silver hair leaped up high and with his strong hand, pulled out his mighty long sword. He yelled angrily and using his swords special technique, killed the demon with one powerful hit. The once threat of the blue demon was no more. Its arms, legs and other parts were scattered on the ground. The murderer landed gracefully on his feet and stood up straight. He shook his head at how pathetic this lowlife demon was. It didn't even know he had been watching him, let alone that it was the majestic Lord Sesshomaru who had wiped him out. The head rolled and landed at Sesshomaru's feet. It's mouth hung open and drool fell to the ground.
"Worthless." Sesshomaru slammed his feet on the demon's head, destroying it completely.
Much time, close to ten years, had passed since Sesshomaru decided to drop Rin off at the village of Kaede. For the most part, he was fine doing his own thing. However, he missed her now, despite accepting back then it was probably the best decision for her. He knew as well as anyone else that he would only put her life in danger if she were to follow him on his journey. It hadn't been an easy decision and came with much sorrow for he enjoyed having her with him. Much more than Jaken, who he wanted to strangle every time he opened his mouth. Though, in the beginning, he had stopped by to give her new outfits, he no longer did that.
He walked to the edge of the forest and looked to the village which he had just protected.
"They're just weak humans." Sesshomaru's usual strong look of disgust was mild this time. Keeping his eyes open and without blinking, observed how fragile and useless these humans really were. He could smell their fear. He took it in and closed his eyes as he tied it to a memory. A familiar feeling he had only experienced with Rin was overcoming him. He hated feeling it. It had been a new and scary emotion for someone like him to feel. He had almost lost her a couple different times. However, now that she wasn't with him anymore, had he lost her forever? Sesshomaru opened his eyes and the gold in them shone with a promise things with be different in the future.
A rustle in the leaves behind Sesshomaru, interrupted his thoughts. Around fifty or so demons were behind him about a hundred feet away and they were ready for a fight. Sesshomaru raised his eyes. He would have rolled his eyes, but that wasn't his style.
"We saw what you did to our master!" One of them cried out. These demons were all blue too but instead of yellow eyes, they had orange ones.
"Master, you say?" Ha, don't make me laugh." Sesshomaru stood perfectly still. His composure was calm and showed no signs of being afraid. Any other human or demon would be worried what these guys were thinking about doing to him. With Sesshomaru, their efforts would be wasted.
"Get him!" They cried. They were angry and full of hate. They charged with great speed at Sesshomaru who remained motionless.
"What? Are you not going to fight?!" A demon asked with fury. "Think you're too good for us, do you?! I shall enjoy wiping that smug look off your face!" The demon took out what looked to be some type of ax weapon and leaping in front of the others, was about to use it on Sesshomaru. Well, that was the demon's intention. Too bad Sesshomaru had other plans.
"Must you guys be this weak?" Sesshomaru raised his sharp nails and right before the demon could touch him with his weapon, smote him in half. It was beautiful. Blood dripped down on Sesshomaru's hand and a large amount fell on the ground. The rest of the body lay in ruin before Sesshomaru.
The rest of the demons kept running. They were either really brave or really dumb. After witnessing what Sesshomaru just did to two of their members, did they really think they stood a chance at wiping him out?
Sesshomaru wasn't going to give them a chance to get any closer to him. With his hair blowing gentle in the wind, he took out his powerful green whip. This was one of his favorite weapons to use on demons. Releasing a mighty presence, he whirled it around above his head a few times, taunting his prey. A glow shone around Sesshomaru as another massacre was about to go down.
The demons kept coming. Any warning they were going to lose didn't register with them. They were probably more dumb than brave at this point. This is what disgusted Sesshomaru the most. Thinking they had what it takes to overcome someone as powerful as he was.
When will you learn? Sesshomaru's thoughts about his prey echoed through his mind as he effortlessly used his whip and wiped them out one by one. Not much of a fight. The demons never stood a chance and fell down as soon as they were struck by the infamous green whip of Sesshomaru. The ground which was pretty much brown with dirt, was now decorated bright red from the demon's blood. Destroying weak demons still brought Sesshomaru much pleasure. It was a high for him. So much satisfaction came to him from wiping out the weaker class demons. Though, at this point, everyone was pretty much weaker than Sesshomaru.
After Sesshomaru was done, he stood back and surveyed the area. A look of disgust crossed over his face. He almost didn't want to bother killing them anymore. He wished the weaker demons would just die off already. What was the point of them being around? Sesshomaru shook his head. He could not imagine being that weak.
A moment later, a bright light shone from up above. It was so bright that it probably would be hard for a normal human to look at it. Hard for everyone else, yes, but not Sesshomaru. Nothing seemed to be a challenge for him. As Sesshomaru looked up, an image of his father could be seen in the sky. He was watching his son with a proud look on his face.
Sesshomaru bowed his head out of respect. He had learned much from his father.
Including the ability to love a human?
Beaming, the mighty father nodded his head to Sesshomaru. "I am proud of you son. You have made me proud."
Sesshomaru didn't move. He stood still as he stared at his father who he wished was still among the living. Thinking back, he used to detest his father with the whole sword arrangement. However, he had gotten over that. He had to learn a valuable lesson of not being upset over something he had no control over. This had perhaps been one of the hardest lessons he's ever had to learn. To let go of anger and hurt over his father's decision had not been easy for him, yet he was able to do it. He was even starting to despise Inuyasha less, but this doesn't mean he would pass up the opportunity to beat his ass.
His father would have wanted them to get along.
Sesshomaru kicked one of the dead demon's head away from him. He watched it roll up against a tree.
More memories came to him.
Rin.
Speaking of Rin, why had Sesshomaru just saved practically a whole village of humans? Wasn't this way out of character for him?
Sesshomaru stared at the tree. It reminded him of the tree he was up against as he waited to recover from a fight with Inuyasha. That was when he first met Rin. She was so innocent and pathetic as she tried to offer him food. She had no idea who he was but that didn't stop her. She had tried so hard to help him, thinking she could.
Sesshomaru walked over to the tree and put his hand on it.
Is that why I was drawn to her? Because she is a human? She is the opposite of me, weak and powerless. I should loathe her like the rest of them.
This had been a mystery to Sesshomaru as well as everyone else who knew about him and Rin.
Sesshomaru sighed. No more thinking. He needed to get going. These days, much like the past, had been spent wandering around in search of power or foes. However, this time he was going to see Rin who had been with Kaede all this time.
It was going to be her eighteenth birthday tomorrow and he was anxious to see what her decision would be in regards to staying put or being with him again.
To be continued...
