At last, Nora was released from the hospital after her bones were scanned and her injuries had closed up and healed. It would be a while before Nora could show up in that bar again. Stupid Linnie..always has to ruin my fun.

Surprisingly, Nora didn't feel very sore at all, and it was as if the bar fight never happened, though her wallet certainly disagreed. If only she had gotten the biker's name..she could've had them sued in court for assault. Though still somewhat angered at the biker, she was more focused on getting home, where the dinner she told Linnie to make was waiting...or should be if he did what he was supposed to for once.

Just to be on the safe side, Nora grabbed out her phone and texted Linnie, "On my way home baby doll. Have my dinner ready and wear something nice. Preferably something pink and covers that fat belly of yours ; ) "

For once, despite just getting out of the hospital, Nora didn't feel like complete garbage, but rather found herself strolling back home instead of using her magic to take her home, not to mention she also had somewhere to be. After stopping by Star Liquor to grab herself a Bourbon bottle, she continued down the city center, passing by a rather elegant jewelry store that said, "Sale! 30 % off all products! One in a lifetime opportunity". Curiously, though jewelry hadn't been a priority before, she decided to see what was on display. Eh..I'm in no rush to get home. Besides, I could use a new watch and I got paid not too long ago..eh what the hell? Treat myself to something nice. I work my ass off everyday so I deserve it.

To Nora's shock however, the store seemed somewhat busy compared to most days. There were people gathering around the tables, most staring at the rings while others (though not much) were looking at necklaces and bracelets. There was also a lot of chatter going on at the ring aisle, so instead of looking at watches like initially planned, Nora decided to go see what all the fuss was about.

"H-Hey! Watch it! I work for the academy, you know. Mind your elders!", she snapped, forcing her way towards the salesman at the front, "Hey! What's going on here? What are you selling?"

"Yes ma'am. It's our 30% sale and engagement rings are quite the range this month. Heh, they don't call February the month of love for nothing!"

"Yeah yeah, but why is everyone over here? What's the big deal-woah.", Nora's eyes expanded on a ring that had a large, rose gold ring with little emeralds in an oval shape. "W-wow..that's nice.."

"Yes ma'am. It's our newest in stock. We call it The Blooming Flower, and it's 14k (carat?). Everyone here's just been dying to look at it."

"Well, how many ya got?"

"We've only got the prototype right now, but orders have been placed so we'll be getting shipments soon. Did you want to order?"

Nora paused for a second, unsure of what her answer was. She hadn't intended on coming in for an engagement ring since she wasn't sure if Linnie was deserving of it, especially surely something this nice. She had always wanted to reserve herself for Arthur, and swore up and down that she would never spend as much money on a man again. On one hand, Nora was inclined to just turn the other way and head home.

But on the other hand, they were all 30% off and the ring was beautiful, and it wasn't like she HATED Linnie per say. He did have his charm, even though he annoyed her to death a lot. He never raised his voice at her, and was quite beautiful to look at. She liked the way he looked in pink turtleneck sweaters, and though his little squeaks when intimidated were kinda cute, and he WAS carrying their first child. Although she never wanted the child in the first place, she did still love Linnie enough to want to take care of him, even if he was a spoiled brat sometimes.

He was also one of the only people who Nora thought still have a shit about her, even if they did have their disagreements. She was surprised that Linnie still came over with roses and chocolate even though (Nora had to admit), she had been somewhat rude to him. Though, to be fair, she was having a rough week anyways. He should've been a bit more careful.

"You know what? Yeah, sure I'll place an order, and give me one of those gold watches from that other display.", Nora said, earning a smile from the salesman.

"Ooh, who's the lucky guy? Or lady?"

"Ehh..no one. Just a friend. It's for later on, but I didn't want to miss a good deal."

"Mmm good call miss. Good call. He's very lucky to have you.", the salesman said, walking into the backroom to grab the paperwork.

Nora smirked a bit with pride as she signed the paperwork for the ring, and paying for the watch. Yeah, of course he's lucky to have me. You know what? This actually might be good for him. He ain't shit without me. Sure, he's beautiful and kind, but had very little talent of ambition. Before his pregnancy, Nora hadn't planned on marrying Linnie, but now that they had a child on the way..maybe it was time? It would keep her from having to pay child support or go through DNA tests in the future. The only problem was the possibility of them having another child, if Linnie doesn't tell her about his damn ovulation. She was still angry that he allowed himself to get pregnant, but tried to shake it off, focusing on her new watch now.

"Here you are ma'am. The ring'll be here in about a month or so. I hope you didn't have any last minute plans, haha.", the salesman laughed, before motioning to help someone else.

Though she normally hated spending this much money, Nora was pretty satisfied. She had a new watch, a bottle of her favorite bourbon in her hands, Linnie is (or should be) making lobster tonight, and there was the possibility that Nora wouldn't have to be so lonely anymore. All he had to say was yes..
