Of course, Linnie did NOT find a way to make it up to Nora. As a matter of fact, when she flew over to the daycare after packing her papers up, she found that the door was locked and that Linnie had already left, some of the toys still lying around the floor.
What a lazy pig..can't even pick up a few toys..and this man thinks he's responsible enough to have children. Bah!
But as annoyed as she was at him, Nora couldn't help but shake off the lonely feeling after walking into her house, the lights turns off and the only noise left is the dripping on the sink. Linnie wasn't around to ask her about her day, or hell, even deal with that bastard baby he made her have, and at that point, Nora began to feel unloved. She grabbed a beer from the fridge and slammed the door, parking herself near the TV in hopes to fill the room with at least some white noise.
After all I do for him..he goes around and tramps with another woman? What's wrong with me? Why doesn't he love me? I'm perfect! I'm a good person. I'm funny, strong, and smart! What the hell's there to not love about me? God, Linnie is so ungrateful..I like him, but I can't stand him. Gah, he pisses me off! Especially after he essentially raped me and gave me a fucking STD. Oh, what I wouldn't give to give him a piece of my mind.
As she kept staring at the screen with apathy, the telephone next to her lied neatly on the small mini-coffee table that sat next to the couch. Looking towards the telephone, she was tempted to reach the phone and call Arthur, or at least that one male prostitute she had got together with after Arthur had left her. But right before she could do anything, the telephone rang, and Linnie's Caller ID went off.
"Linnie! What the hell! Didn't I say you should've made it up to me after the shit you pulled yesterday!?", Nora yelled, "What do you want? Don't you have someone's dick to suck, you pervert?"
"Good to hear from you too, Nora.", Linnie's soft voice was laced with disgust, "I see I had called at the wrong time. I'll call again once I know you haven't been drinking."
"See, this is exactly why we aren't living together! You always got a fucking attitude! What happened to the sweet, meek Linnie I had met almost 1,000 years ago? What's wrong with you?"
"I'm not calling to discuss myself, Nora. I was just wondering if you've checked you mail recently?"
"No, I hadn't had time. If you must know, I've been working overtime since paying for YOUR damn expenses had caused me to run late on the water bill. Hell, I'm damn near lucky I still have water. Any day now it'll cut off, thanks to you."
"Blame me all you want, Nora. I'm really not concerned about that. I asked because the courts should've sent you a note. I've decided after the way you've been treating me and the way you've cheated OUR son, I decided to sue for child support. I've contacted my lawyer and everything."
"W-Wait what? Did you not hear me? I can't even afford my water and you're sucking even more water out of me?!"
"Yes. I was hesitant at first since I wasn't sure if you'd pay child support at all, but I realized if I made sure to hold you accountable, then child support would not be a problem. You don't have to see our son if you don't want, but since YOU failed to wear protection and refuse to help take care of Darren, who by the way keeps asking for his "mommy", I feel that it is only fair that you help support the child financially."
"And why the hell would I do that? I don't even think that child is mine! I bet it was that Delia bitch you were cheating on me with!"
"Darren looks nothing like Delia, sweetheart. I've gotten a DNA test already, and he is indeed your son."
"Well, I didn't want this child! Besides, it's your fault he's even alive."
"It doesn't matter who's fault it is that Darren's alive. What's important here that you refuse to marry or help take care of our child, so I'm requesting child support. It's not even that much anyways, since you claim to earn six figures from your job."
"You're the one that ran off with the fucker!"
"Yes, because I was afraid you were going to hurt him. I don't care what you do to me, but after you called the baby a…I can't even repeat it, I feel like I don't have any support. So now I'm requesting some funds to help me, by myself mind you, to take care of the child."
"Yeah! Not for you! It's not my fault you give a shit about the baby? Don't you realize he's going to leave you after he turns 18,000? Can't you pay for the child with your own job money?"
"I already do. Believe it or not, I make a lot less than you do, Nora. I think you could afford $1000 to help me out from time to time."
"I-I", Nora was dumbfounded for words. Just as if Linnie couldn't get any greedier, there he was, "You've got some nerve talking to me like that! Don't you know who I am? Don't you know what I can do to you or that stupid son of yours!"
"Ours Nora. And Yes, you're a deadbeat mother. Goodbye now. I'll see you in court soon."
Nora screamed and threw the phone down, not believing Linnie's audacity. She didn't think he was the type to go and beg for money, but there she was, having to pay for a child she didn't believe was hers. Linnie was the pervert here. Linnie was the one that decided to get pregnant. Couldn't HE use protection, or tell her his ovulation? At the very least, he could've put himself on birth control before they got together. Why did she have to be held accountable while Linnie got to go scott free. Just because he was cute? Pssh..not how the world works honey.
Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. Nora wasn't willing to pay $1000 for some brat that she didn't even give a shit about. As much as she hated Linnie in the moment (for his greed and attitude), she got up from the TV and went towards her work desk, where the potion ingredient and the engagement ring lied, after no work for about a week. Taking the ring and placing it between the tongs, she carefully dipped the ring into the potion, the gold turning into a more rose gold, and a pink aura surrounding the ring. As much as she wasn't sure she wanted to do this, Nora had decided something needed to happen in order to reverse the charges. If the courts found out, they'd reject Linnie's claim for child support keep Nora's pockets from running dry.
Nora felt that at this time, as soon as she found him, it was time that she proposed to Linnie. If only it was Arthur though..
