Justice or Revenge part 3

He didn't go straight to the dorms after his talk with Principle Nezu. He had to think, so a walk wouldn't hurt. Principle Nezu had some valid points. That he understood. It was just, it was his mother. How could he have just stood there and watched as his mom was murdered? He just stopped. The heroes just waited, idling, all for someone with the right quirk to be the victor. It didn't make sense. Then they let him get away. How could they call themselves heroes if they're going to stand around doing nothing? How could I call myself a hero? Can I still be a hero? I let my mother die. What if I fail someone else and let a child die? My friends. My family. No, I refuse. I'll be a hero. One that will move, that won't wait around for the right quirk. One that could work in any situation. I won't sit and wait for the right person. I'll move, I'll fight, and I'll win. I will become a hero who will do something that won't fail. I'll study everything I can that could make me a good hero. Anything that I may need.

With Izuku's new resolve born from the sadness that he might not be a worthy hero, he had unknowingly unlocked a new quirk from the 3rd user.

[New quirk

He can remember everything he reads and put into practice after 4 hours of sleep no matter how much he reads he could read 10 books on hacking not remember a lick of anything he sleeps for 4 hours and he can hack with the best of them it doesn't have to be one subject either it could be hacking, engineering and, how to make candles. With 4 hours of sleep, he can hack, build a car and, make a candle.

Weakness: He has to sleep at least 4 hours every night but he has nightmares of his mother (it doesn't have to be consecutive hours. That would just be cruel.)]

After realizing the walk did its job and that he had to pack he headed back to the dorms evading as many people as possible.

New life in a new county. He had to pack light. Last Izuku looked up his father on the internet, he was loaded. Hisashi could get him a new wardrobe. He packed enough clothes for a week and the funeral. The essentials such as deodorant, toothbrush toothpaste, and soap he left out to be placed in a separate bag.

He put all of his All Might merch up for sale. Donated the rest of his clothes and anything else he was leaving behind. By the time he was done his dorm looked just as plain as when he first moved in. All he had left to do was pack the apartment.

Looking at the time it read 6:42 PM in bold red letters. Deciding to get a head start on studying he went to the school library. I'm going to America and I could do better in English. He grabbed an English book and an English dictionary, learned as much as he could. By that point he looked at the time again, it was 11:36. He got through 4 books and went through the dictionary. Going back to the dorm taking a quick shower he went to sleep.

The next morning he woke up to a knock on the door. 7:54 AM flashed in the corner of his eyes. "Yes." The door opened a crack open and Present Mic's head popped in. "Good morning. We're leaving at 8:30 so get ready, little listener." His smile was bright but not enough to better Izuku's mood. Closing the door with a BANG and talking loudly with whoever was in the corridor he left.

Changing his clothes and doing his morning routine he mentally went over what he could remember from yesterday. As he thought about it he realized he remembered all 4 books from cover to cover in English with every little detail. Izuku could probably list all the words in the order in English from the dictionary. How's that possible. I should test it with Mic sensei just in case and figure out what this new ability is. I'll have to talk with All might before I leave maybe it has to do with One for All, cause I've never been able to remember what I've read word for word before. Needing to be sure he was going to have a conversation with Mic sensei in English on the way to the apartment.

Walking out of the dorm room and locking it behind him, he avoided people like the plague. Making sure everyone was out of the room before entering. Through the hallway, down the stairs, into the common room and, out the front door. Taking a long way around to avoid every living soul. Izuku successfully made it to the front gate.

A sleek black car was parked in front of the school. Aizawa rolled down the window. Present Mic was sat in the passenger seat and beamed at him "Get in little listener." Opening the car door and sliding into the back seat he strapped himself in. "Mic sensei, I'm moving to America. Can you test me on some English?" "Sure little listener. How about we have a conversation with some basic English."

They spent the entire day speaking English when they recognized Midoriya was way ahead of the school curriculum. Getting to his old apartment, it was just as he remembered it. Neat and organized. As if he had never moved out, yet so void of life. The apartment was dark, cold, and a bit dusty. No one had been there in over a week.

Aizawa and Mic stayed at the door leaning against the banister outside. "If you need help with anything all you need is to ask."

Izuku gave a stiff nod as he walked to his room. It was pretty bare, clothes in draws, bed made, walls naked. He had already decided he wasn't going to take any more clothes with him so he didn't need anything from his room.

He moved down the hall passing the bathroom to his mother's room. The smell of oranges engulfed him. It was his mother's favorite scent. She said it reminded her of the times before his father left, like their first date. He had taken her to an orange orchard, they had their first kiss there. Her bed was made. Dust gathering on the dresser and nightstand. A picture of the both of them smiling at each other sat steady under the lamp. He picked up the photo.

I promised myself I wouldn't cry.

He pledged to himself yet he already had a tear rolling down his cheek. Drop by drop his tears fell on the dusted glass. Sniffles could be heard echoing in the room.

"I miss you, mom. I know I said I would be a hero who could save everyone with a smile, show the world a better future, but I just don't know if I can do it anymore. Your smile lit up my world and now you're gone. How can I smile without you, at the world knowing you're not in it? I let you down, I got you killed. I can't be a hero like them. I can't be a hero who just stands around anymore. If I'm going to keep fighting for my dream, I'm going to have to change. Mom, I promise you I will be someone who can help in any situation. I swear it."

CRACK

The frame split from such a strained grip. Taking the photo from the broken case he slid the image into his wallet. Wiping his face with the hem of his shirt, he gave the bedroom one last go-around before he walked out seeing nothing he would want to keep. Stepping out of the apartment he looked to his teachers.

"What will happen with everything?" The pros looked up. "Oh, your father will be taking care of everything in the apartment. Are you ready to go? Do you need help with boxes?" Izuku shook his head negatively.

"You sure, you might not have a chance to collect anything in the future little listener?"

"I'm sure" Izuku got into the car.

They drove back to the dorms dropping Izuku off. He had finished packing yesterday so he would continue studying before the funeral tomorrow. He was alone in his room studying for hours before he fell asleep. He was pretty fluent in English by the time he woke up the next morning.
