Epilogue
Lei coughs as he slowly came back into consciousness. He slowly sits up as he no longer sees a garden but a wasteland. All he could smell is smoke as he sees blobs of orange, blue, purple, and yellow surrounding him.
Lei without any control begins screaming hysterically. Everything was a blur as people rushed over to him. He couldn't even see who they were. The voices were muffled as he couldn't understand. In his ears, a distractive ringing noise can be heard. He continued screaming but the ringing noise wouldn't go away.
Lei stands up disoriented as he stumbles over wreckage and branches. He pushes everyone away as he tries to gain his bearings.
"Lei!" A familiar voice shouts. He can feel a gentle warmth on his arm. All he can understand are voices saying, Lei! Lei! LEI!
He looks in the direction of the voice. The figure still blurred but he can figure out it is Iolene. She grabs his arm as he can feel warm glowing energy flowing through his body. His sight and hearing began to clear. The gold blob eventually forms into Iolene.
She gently swipes the hair away from his eyes. Lei checks the back of his head as he notices his hair is no longer tied up. He notices her feeling him everywhere from his head to his feet. She opens his clothes revealing his chest and feels his heartbeat with her hand.
"You have burns on your arms and chest... " She then takes a clear salve out of her bag and smears it all over his body. Iolene then softly kisses his cheek. "I will be back... There are many severely injured. This salve shall prevent infection for a while." She whispers then running through the burnt field.
Lei stands there lost as he didn't know what to think. His mind is a blank slate... He is watching dragons and people rushing around him. He can hear screams and roars of distress. But he cannot process in his mind what is happening.
He notices Aaron carrying a man to Iolene.
"He has died..." She says sadly as she closes the man's eyes. "Place him over there." As Iolene points to an area. Aaron walks there with the corpse. Lei follows Aaron as Iolene rushes off as many people are calling her name.
Aaron places the man down gently as Lei notices that it is a long row of corpses. Aaron turns around sees Lei.
"Lei!" Aaron says as he walks over to him. He grabs his shoulders while Lei felt like a rag doll. "Has Iolene checked you over?"
Lei nods yes in reply.
"I need to help the others. Are you able to walk to the palace?" Aaron says it so gently as if he were speaking to a child.
Lei nods yes.
"Okay! I'll meet you there." And like that Aaron runs off searching the grounds.
Lei looks up at the palace and then up the sky, what was once clear skies now are covered with clouds.
In a daze, Lei wanders around as he sees priest healers tending to the injured and dead.
The roars and screams continued as Lei looked at the destruction around him. He walked over to the royal podium as he sees that it has been blown to bits.
He sees a bundle of blue robes in front of him. Surrounded by the longest navy blue hair all disheveled and tangled. The figure looks up at him. Make-up all smeared and ruined.
"LEI! DON'T LOOK!" She screams in hysteria.
"Mum... Mummy..." That is all he could muster. His own make-up streaked with tears and blood. As he scratches the dry paint.
He sees his mother completely distraught. But what disturbed him the most is what she was holding. It was his father's head. Lei's blood turned cold as he vomited and collapses to the ground in shock.
All he could hear was his mother screaming in grief. As thunder can be heard in the distance.
