His business in the county is both legal and illegal. He's known for his line of fashion throughout the country but at the same time is also known to be a smuggler. Reported to have been smuggling a number of rare import cars into the county, providing racers with cars that are supposed to be exclusive to SCPD, including a silver Porsche Boxster Spyder driven by Honoka Kousaka. Under heavy supervision by SCPD.

Reported to have some old feud with racer Honoka Kousaka but she keeps the details confidential. Report : A former street racer originating from Palmont City alongside Darius Flynt. One night during a race PCPD orchestrated a raid on the racer and managed to arrest a number of them including Darius, but Derek managed to escape and fled to Seacrest County for a new start. Two years after he started racing he was arrested by SCPD. Noticing his skills, SCPD offered him a deal to work as an SCPD officer within Speed Enforcement units. Since starting his new career as an SCPD officer, Derek has made an impressive progress earning him his current rank as a Trooper (8). Officer Brown has also sworn to himself that one day he will arrest Darius Flynt with his own hands. SCPD hopes for the best to Officer Derek Brown and will continue providing support he needs in accomplishing his missions.
