So glad to see that you guys like Josh coming in
I got a review saying that they wish for Josh to be more protective and questioning Lucas's action. How do you expect Josh to question Lucas' actions when the guy doesn't really know Lucas that well? Josh seems like the kind of person who questions people and their actions when knows them well. Since he doesn't really know Lucas, why would he question his actions?
He obviously does not agree with the decisions but he won't really question them.
Also Joshaya fans please be patient because as promised I have put in a small Joshaya moment for you all.
So Cory, Topanga and Auggie are seeing Lucas for the first time since the accident.
Let's see how that goes...
Cory entered the hospital room followed by Auggie and Topanga.
He looked around the room before locking his eyes with Lucas lying on the bed.
He sucked in a breath and moved towards Lucas.
He heard Topanga gasp behind him on seeing Lucas. Auggie looked scared but he braved his way towards the bed.
Once they reached the bed, Cory lifted Auggie onto the plastic chair so that he could see Lucas better.
Auggie frowned on seeing Lucas with all the wires, bruises and bandages.
He turns to Topanga and asks, "Mommy will Lucas be okay? He looks bad and I really don't want anything to happen to him."
Topanga takes her eyes off Lucas to look at Auggie and answers, "Lucas will be just fine. All he needs is some time to heal."
Cory notices that Auggie is not completely convinced so he adds, "Don't you trust Lucas, Bubba? You know that he's strong so he'll pull through. He just needs to rest and he should be up and about in no time. He'll be playing baseball with you in no time. He promised that he'll always be there for you, didn't he? Lucas is a man of his word."
Auggie seems content with this answer and smiles.
Topanga rests her head on Cory's shoulder while Cory pulls her in to give her a side hug.
They stand like that in silence for some time.
Suddenly Auggie asks, "Do you think he can hear me?"
Topanga looks at him smiling and answers, "He probably can. Why don't you talk to him? Some people say it helps speed up the recovery process. It'll help if Lucas knows how much people close to him care about him."
Auggie nods, turning to Lucas and takes a deep breath.
He then starts talking to Lucas, "Hey Lucas it's me Auggie. I'm not sure if you can hear me but mommy said you can and that it'll help you so I'll talk to you. I don't like seeing you like this, you know. I like the big strong Lucas who always takes out time to play with me. Mommy said you need to rest now to get better so I'll leave now. Also I know about what happened at the bakery and I'm not mad at you. I know you promised that you wouldn't hurt Riley and that you feel bad because you think you broke that promise but it's not your fault. Riley will always be my sister but now you're also my brother so I don't want you to get hurt either. Get better soon because I miss my big brother."
Topanga smiles with tears in her eyes while she hears Auggie talk to Lucas.
Auggie gestures to her to go next so she steps forward.
Taking a deep breath, she starts, "Hi Lucas it's Topanga. We came here as soon as we heard about your accident from Pappy Joe. All of us are worried about you so please get better soon. I don't like seeing my babies hurt like this. And yes I called you my baby because you are definitely like a son to me. I want to see my two baby boys up and playing just like they used to. Take all the time you need to get better but don't leave us hanging like this for very long. Everyone misses you here. Cory might not say it out loud but even he considers you his son as well."
Cory rolls his eyes on hearing this, making Auggie laugh.
Topanga then bends down and kisses Lucas on his head.
Cory then says, "I miss my favourite student. Yes I know that I say I like your group of friends the same but I'm very proud of the way you've grown. When I first saw your records, I saw a boy with some anger issues. Eventually when I started teaching you, I realized that you wanted to be better but were lost because you didn't know where to start. Other teachers ignored you because of your record but I decided to give you a chance. I knew that you would make the most of that opportunity and you definitely did not disappoint me. I know I was hard on you especially when it came to your closeness to Riley. We've all watched you grow over the few years that we've known you and I am proud of the person you are today. Get better soon Lucas."
Cory squeezes his hand once and smiles when he feels Lucas squeezing back weakly.
A nurse comes in to tell them that Lucas needs to get his injuries checked so they will have to leave.
Cory leads Topanga and Auggie out following behind them.
They meet with Riley and Josh outside.
Pappy Joe joins them after getting an update about Lucas from the doctor.
Pappy Joe says, "The doctor said he should be waking up soon. He's healing quite fast. Riley, you should go in and talk to him. The doctor said that might really help him. He can probably hear you. I really don't wanna see him like that again today. It was hard enough yesterday"
Riley nods and walks towards Lucas' room.
She decides to be honest about her feelings with him today.
She needs to talk to him just like she used to before.
She is not going to lose the 'love of her life' just because she's scared.
Will Riley finally confess?
