Hey guys

So I got a review saying that Lucas should turn Missy in and Riley and her parents should press changes for assault. It sounds like a good idea but Missy wasn't the only one bothering Riley. So simply turning Missy in won't stop the rumors. The rumors have been bothering Lucas all day so he is bound to do something about that as well.

Hope you guys enjoy this chapter.

PS: This is the biggest chapter of the whole book.

Wonder who's handling the situation

'Texas Lucas' or 'New York Lucas'

Lucas had closed his eyes and was taking deep breaths to keep his anger at bay.

He opened his eyes when he felt in better control of his emotions.

Riley had noticed the change in his breathing pattern and was immediately worried about him acting out in rage.

She could also see the crowd forming and even noticed a few teachers showing up.

She knew that if Lucas did anything now when he was blinded by rage, he would end up in a lot of trouble.

She locked eyes with her father who silently told her to calm down and trust her boyfriend.

As much as she trusted Lucas to control his temper, she knew that with her as a target it would not be easy for him.

Despite her worries she decided to trust Lucas to handle this situation calmly.

Lucas kissed Riley's forehead and turned to Maya to find her still struggling in Zay's grip.

He turned to look at Farkle and found him clenching his fists and gritting his teeth.

Lucas says, "Maya stop. Riley is fine."

Maya looked like she was about to protest when he continues, "You don't need to start a fight here. Let me deal with this, please."

Maya finally stops struggling and goes to check up on Riley.

With that he turns to Missy and says, "I'm hoping you have a reasonable explanation as to why I just saw you slam my girlfriend into the lockers. I'd like to hear the reason for you resorting to violence like that instead of using your words."

Missy doesn't say anything so Lucas crosses his arms and continues, "I'm waiting"

Missy then looks him in the eye and says, "I was just showing that nobody her place. She disrespected me and so she needed to be taught a lesson."

Maya tries to go at Missy again but Riley and Zay together manage to hold her back.

Lucas raises an eyebrow and replies, "You're trying to tell me that my girlfriend, Riley Matthews was disrespectful to you? First do you even realise how crazy that sounds? And besides, even if Riley was 'disrespectful' towards you as you say, hurting her just makes you a bully. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the concept but respect is something that is earned and not demanded."

Missy looks at him angrily and says, "Why are you even defending that childish loser? She's a nobody. Also you can drop the whole girlfriend act because I know you're just dating her out of pity. You would never really go out with a loser like her. It's social suicide."

Farkle, Zay and Maya gasp audibly while Smackle has a shocked look on her face.

Riley notices Lucas stiffened on hearing Missy's comment.

Lucas asks in a cold voice pausing at each word, "WHAT. DID. YOU. JUST. SAY?"

Riley winces at the tone with which Lucas spoke.

Missy however doesn't seem to notice and repeats herself, "I asked why you are defending this childish loser? You're even dating her out of pity. You can do so much better if you would just ditch this nobody."

Lucas clenches his fist and even starts shaking a little in rage, which really worries Riley.

Lucas says in a low angry voice, "You think I'm dating her out of pity? I don't know about you but I sure as hell ain't that shallow. Unlike you, I actually care about other people's feelings. And I certainly don't toy with anyone's feelings."

Lucas pauses to take a deep breath, turns to face the crowd gathered around them and continues loudly, "Riley is the most amazing and selfless girl I know. She always puts her friends' needs and wants above her own. Just like she's been doing all day today. You all kept bad mouthing her all day today but, did any of you stop to think how it might be affecting her? Did any of you stop to consider her feelings? You guys just went on gossiping and she never said a word. In fact, you guys should be glad she was present in my classes because trust me I was very tempted to send many of you to the nurse's office. How would you guys feel if someone kept bad mouthing you like you've been doing to Riley all day today? Huh? It would hurt, wouldn't it? How can all of you be so insensitive to a fellow classmate's feelings?"

He turns to Missy before continuing aggressively, "And you. You had the audacity to hit her. You bully her because you're jealous of her for having true friends. Don't you even try to deny it. Riley has friends who will always have her back while you only have followers because they are too afraid to stand up to you. Popularity and social standing has no value in the real world. You think I deserve better than Riley because she's a 'loser' and a 'nobody' according to you. But that's where you're wrong because Riley is the one who deserves better. She deserves someone better but for some weird unexplained reason she chooses to be with me."

Riley interrupts him saying, "Lucas please don't talk about yourself like that."

Lucas turns to Riley and shakes his head, laughing and says, "You see how selfless she is. Even now she's more worried about what I think of myself than what you idiots have been saying about her all day. She's hurting herself but she cares more about her friends than herself. This is why I've always loved her. You all heard me right. I, Lucas Friar, am hopelessly in love with Riley Matthews."

Riley gasps in shock on hearing Lucas confess to all their classmates.

Lucas looks unfazed and firmly continues, "Now I'm politely asking you all to stop the rumors and the gossip about Riley. If I hear about anyone bad mouthing Riley again, y'all better hope to find a good hiding spot. Getting in trouble with the principal or the teachers will be the least of your troubles. All the bullying stops right now. My relationship with Riley is none of your business. I would appreciate you keeping your 'expert comments' to yourself. Who I date is none of your business."

He turns to Missy with a stone cold expression on his face.

Missy gulps nervously, now terrified of Lucas but he ignores her expression and says, "Now Missy, I believe you owe Riley an apology."

Missy immediately turns to Riley and says, "I'm really very sorry Riley."

Riley replies, "I forgive you Missy."

Lucas smiles at Riley for a moment before turning to Missy with a cold expression and says, "I better not hear about you bullying Riley again. AM. I. CLEAR?"

Missy is too frightened to say anything so she quickly nods before running off.

Lucas then turns to Riley and pulls her in for a hug.

Riley softly says, "I'm proud of you. You handled the situation very well. I'll admit for a moment there I thought you would turn into 'Texas Lucas' again. Thank you for not doing that."

Lucas pulls her in closer and replies, "You are my strength Riley. If it weren't for you I really doubt I would have stayed as calm as I was. Thank you for believing in me."

Nobody could hear what the couple was saying but their eyes moistened on seeing the intimate moment between the two lovers.

Cory looked at Lucas and felt extremely proud of how he had grown. He could still remember the lost little boy Lucas was a few years ago.

The boy had so many emotions bottled up inside of him which usually came out in the form of anger.

Cory could see the boy had the desire to work on making himself better but was lost with no one to guide him so he had decided to help the boy out as much as he could.

He could see that he had succeeded in helping the boy with anger issues.

Cory could now see that the lost little boy had matured into a confident young man.

The rest of the day was uneventful and nobody dared to say a word against Riley.

They were all extremely terrified of what Lucas might actually do to them if he heard anything.

The stone cold expressions of the normally friendly boy had rattled them all to their core.

After school, the gang went to Topanga's to complete their homework together. They sit down at their usual hang out spot and take their books out.

Topanga was present at the bakery today and she noticed them to be in high spirits.

She had gotten a call from Cory saying that something big had happened in school and she guessed it had something to do with the nosy and inconsiderate classmates.

If the classmates were involved then it was rarely something good so their high spirits seemed odd to her.

Topanga decided to go over and talk to them to find out what exactly had happened.

Topanga greets them, "Hey guys, how was school today?"

Maya answers, "We had an amazing day. The gossip finally stopped today."

Zay adds, "Yeah. They're too afraid of Lucas to say or do anything. It was epic."

Topanga turns to the others and asks, "Will someone please explain to me what exactly these two are talking about?"

Farkle starts explaining everything from the mean comments about Riley from morning till lunch.

He tells her that all the students were constantly talking trash about her.

Smackle proceeds to tell Topanga about what happened with Missy and how Lucas scared everyone off rather calmly.

Smackle adds, "It was rather unnerving to see him threatening them while he was looking so calm. Everyone was terrified of what Lucas might do to them because no one dared to say anything after lunch."

Topanga looks at Lucas with a smile on her face and says, "I'm proud of you for defending Riley. I know it would have been difficult for you to keep yourself so calm."

Lucas pulls Riley close to himself and replies, "I had to do something because those comments were not only bothering Riley but me as well. I had to stay calm because I wasn't about to ruin all the progress I've made since I've moved to New York just because of some jealous idiots. Besides, I will always try my best to protect Riley."

Riley responds by kissing him on the lips.

Maya jokingly says, "Get a room you two"

Everyone laughs at Maya's comment while the young couple blushes.

The gang soon goes back to completing their homework.

All was finally right in their world.

So in the end it was like a combination of 'Texas Lucas' and 'New York Lucas' handling the situation.

Unfortunately everything that starts has an end because the end is inevitable. This is the end of this story. I really hope you all liked reading this story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
