Foggy Swamp, Earth Kingdom

Once Sunset Shimmer finally came to, she found herself in wet terrain. She was still a bit groggy after getting kidnapped, though, so it took her a short while to notice Dr. Gross, who was apparently typing something into a machine's computer.

"You!" she exclaimed as soon as she heard Sunset groan. "So you're the one who sent that wasp, or bird, or whatever after me!"

"Oh, good," Dr. Gross said. "You're finally awake."

Sunset tried in vain to get back up, but it was no use. Her whole body felt heavy, like it had fallen asleep.

"I wouldn't bother if I were you," Dr. Gross warned her. "I injected you with a neurotoxin that should keep you paralyzed long enough for me to get my machines running."

"Machines?" Sunset repeated in a panic. "What exactly do you plan on doing with them?"

"Oh, nothing too serious," Dr. Gross nonchalantly explained. "I'm just gonna upgrade every life form on this planet with cybernetic enhancements." Sunset let out a gasp.

"And you're just gonna do this against everyone's will? That sounds terrible!" Dr. Gross' face then scrunched up in anger.

"Why does everyone always say that? You'd think everyone would be grateful that I'm making their lives better."

"Not when you're just forcing everyone to go through with this." Of course, Dr. Gross didn't want to hear any of it. In fact, Sunset's insistence that what she was doing was possibly heinous really got to her.

"Well, then let's just see how much your tune will change," Dr. Gross responded as she pulled out one of her tools, "when you become my first human cyborg!"

"Wait, first?" Sunset panicked as she struggled even more now to break free from her paralysis.

Meanwhile, Rainbow, Danny, Aang, April, Finn, and Jenny were all hiding close by.

"Alright. So, what's the plan?" Rainbow inquired.

"I say we push her into the swamp and hope that it short circuits her robot parts," Finn suggested. He received odd looks from the others.

"That's barely a plan at all," Rainbow commented.

"Well, it worked when Jake and I did it." Finn thought about it for a moment. "Except for the part where her robot helpers replaced her broken bits with more robot parts."

The others gave him even more odd looks.

"What?" Finn asked, looking puzzled.

"There's gotta be something better we could do," Rainbow groaned.

"Maybe I can try and shut down her cybernetic implants," Jenny chimed in. "If you guys can distract her while I access those implants, I think we can take her down."

"Alright, then," Danny said. "In that case, Rainbow, Aang, and I will go and distract Dr. Gross, and while she's focused on us, Finn and April will protect Jenny while she tries to shut down Dr. Gross' system."

"Sounds like a plan," Jenny replied as her pigtails turned into antennae. "I'll get started."

And just like that, Danny, Rainbow, and Aang ran off to fight Dr. Gross, while Finn and April stayed behind to protect Jenny. Just as Dr. Gross got out what looked like a drill, Rainbow zipped in and decked her. Meanwhile, an invisible Danny passed through the machinery and went undetected by any of Dr. Gross' robot minions. He then took control of Sunset's body, freaking her out in the process.

"What the...?" Sunset exclaimed. "What the hell is going on?"

"That is a good question," Dr. Gross halfheartedly responded as she focused primarily on searching for Rainbow. "Come out, come out wherever you."

Her robotic arm expanded to reveal a bludgeoning weapon. She then patiently waited. As soon as she saw a rainbow-colored contrail approach, she swung as hard as she could, knocking Rainbow off course. She then charged towards a now freaked out Sunset Shimmer, but just as she was about to attack, sparks started flying out of her implants. Her intimidating run was now a limp.

"Huh? What the...?" Dr. Gross panicked. She managed to turn her head enough to see the satellite attached to Jenny's head while her eyes seemed to be completely black. "Oh no you don't!"

She then aimed her bludgeoning weapon towards her, but just as she was about to charge toward Jenny, she lost control of her limbs. April had managed to stop her dead in her tracks with her telekinesis.

"You think you can stop me?" Just as she uttered those words, a plethora of wires jutted out from the main console and wrapped themselves around the redhead.

"What the...," April muttered to herself as one of the wires made its way into her ear. "What are you doing?" she panicked. Several other wires then made their way to the other group members.

"Changing the world for the better!" Dr. Gross defended. "And if none of you can see that, then maybe you should be the first to go!"

Meanwhile, more wires stretched out from the main console and beyond the swamp. As soon as Sunset was completely wrapped in wires, Danny emerged from her body.

"Oh, no!" Danny exclaimed. Everyone except for Dr. Gross, Jenny, and himself was one step closer to becoming more machine than person. Now, what was he supposed to do?

"Jenny!" Danny exclaimed to no avail. Jenny was still busy trying to hack into Dr. Gross' cybernetics. Danny approached her to at least see how close she was to succeeding.

All of a sudden, Dr. Gross' cybernetic eyes seemed to change to a teal color. "Alright. I'm in," came Dr. Gross' voice.

"Yes!" Danny sighed. "Let's just hope you can shut everything down."

Just then, Danny was suddenly blindsided by Dr. Gross, whose movements were now twitchy. Sparks were flying from her robotic parts as she wildly swung her bludgeoning weapon around in an attempt to attack Danny.

"What's going on?" Danny fretted. "Are you okay?"

"I...I think...," Jenny stuttered as she struggled to fight against Gross. "She's...too...strong."

"Then you've gotta be stronger," Danny encouraged. "I may not have known you for that long, but I know you can do it."

"How...can you...be...so sure?"

Danny thought about it for a moment. "To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I guess it's just a leap of faith," he shrugged.

More sparks flew from Dr. Gross' body as Jenny keeled over in agony.

"Alright...I'll...try," Jenny struggled. More sparks flew from her head while Dr. Gross' body flailed all over the place. Her arm slowly rose and aimed at Jenny's body. Just as her forearm jutted out toward Jenny's body like a battering ram, Danny threw himself in the way and flew back from the ram's full force.

"Danny!" came Jenny's voice. Dr. Gross' body continued to jerk around as the two consciousnesses fought against each other.

"Face it, robot. With your tech, you and I can both show everyone the future."

"Not like this, Gross," Jenny objected. "I'm not gonna help you force people to become cyborgs."

"Well then I'll have to force you to do it!"

The sparks became larger as Jenny and Dr. Gross fought for control. Dr. Gross' body flailed around as weapons constantly reactivated and deactivated while her optical sensor flickered.

"What...what are you doing?" Dr. Gross worried. "I--I'm shutting down."

"Looks like I managed to hack into your system," Jenny answered. Dr. Gross soon fell to the ground.

"I can't...move." Dr. Gross' optical sensor suddenly shut off. She was still conscious, but couldn't move or see through her optical sensor. Jenny's own body then reactivated.

"Guys! I did it! I--" Jenny then realized that, while the transformation stopped, her friends were still wrapped in and connected to Dr. Gross' wires. "Oh. Right." She plugged into the computer and started breaking into its system. After a few minutes, every single wire started to descend back into the swamp freeing everyone from Dr. Gross' control.

"Is everyone alright?" Jenny asked everyone.

"I think so," Rainbow answered. She then surveyed the area, looking for Sunset. As soon as she spotted her, she immediately ran over to her.

"Sunset!" she exclaimed. "Thank goodness, you're okay!"

"It's great to see you, too," Sunset chuckled.

"Wait, where's Danny?" Jenny asked everyone. She then turned to see Danny lying on the ground with green fluid oozing from the cuts on his skin. She rushed over to him and lifted him over her shoulder. "How fast can we get him to a doctor?" she panicked.

"If Aang can show me the way, he can help me get him and Sunset to a doctor," Rainbow suggested.

"What about Dr. Gross?" April asked, pointing in Gross' direction.

"Jake and I were just gonna take her back to our time," Finn chimed in. "Our princess will want to make sure she's in jail for what she did."

"Right. Now let's get Danny and Sunset back to Ba Sing Se quick," Aang proclaimed. The group then all flew and ran out of the swamp.

"It's thanks to these six heroes that I'm safe and Dr. Henrietta Gross will now be locked away," Sunset announced. An entire crowd stood behind her camera crew as she finished up her news report. "From all of us here at the Canterlot Gazette, this is Sunset Shimmer signing off."

Meanwhile, Rainbow and Pinkie sat together discussing everything that recently happened.

"I can't believe that Dr. Gross almost turned everyone into cyborgs," Pinkie lamented. "If something happened to either one of us, I honestly don't know what I would've done." Pinkie seemed to tear up a bit. "I'm sorry. I just can't stop thinking about--"

Rainbow suddenly planted a kiss on Pinkie's lips.

"What was that?"

"To let you know that I'm never leaving your side," Rainbow assured her. "No matter what." The two of them smiled at each other and continued to kiss each other.

Just outside, Finn, Jake, and Danny were busy saying their goodbyes while Dr. Gross was restrained behind them.

"It was nice meeting you guys," Danny said. "Hopefully, Dr. Gross will be put away for a long time."

"Don't worry," Finn reassured him. "Princess Bubblegum will make sure of it."

Danny slightly gave a confused look while still fascinated by all that he had learned from Finn and Jake about the future.

"And sorry about the mess we left at your place," Jake apologized.

"Don't worry about it. Actually, I got to thinking, and this whole...adventure gave me the inspiration I needed for my board meeting at work."

"Really?" Finn and Jake both asked in unison.

"Yeah. Believe it or not, after this whole fiasco, I realized that my board meeting is small potatoes in comparison," Danny explained. "So, in a weird way, I guess you guys helped me out there. Thanks."

Finn and Jake gave each other odd looks before looking back at Danny.

"I mean, you're welcome, I guess," Jake replied.

"Anyway, we gotta get going," Finn told him. "It was nice meeting all of you guys." The three of them all hugged each other before Finn pulled the Enchiridion out of his backpack. He flipped to a seemingly random page and then directed it towards Dr. Gross, who was suddenly engulfed by a white light. Finn and Jake then put their hands on the page themselves before disappearing.

"I'm really gonna miss those two," Danny muttered to himself. He then turned around to find Rainbow standing behind him. Aang, April, and Jenny soon joined the group.

"Hey guys. What's going on?"

"So, we were all thinking, that maybe we should all hang out more often," Rainbow suggested, "and if there's ever another bad guy that wants to destroy or end the world or whatever, we could all join forces again."

"That sounds great!" Danny elated.

"And I was thinking we could give ourselves a name," Aang chimed in. "Something that tells people that we'll bring goodness back to light."

"Did you have anything in mind," Danny asked.

"Yeah. I was thinking we could call ourselves the Phoenix Fighters."

The five of them all glanced at each other in agreement.

"So then it's settled," Danny said. "Phoenix Fighters it is."

And just like that, a new team was created.
