Chapter 32

Telling the children had gone better than they'd thought it would.

Liir and Priel had been immediately happy, especially Priel who was glad about not having to be 'the baby' anymore. Now his siblings couldn't use that excuse to leave him out of things or to tease him.

Zianna, Nailor, and Mackaeyla had mixed feelings about the pregnancy at first. But after a little talk from their parents, and also the news that they would be moving to a bigger house, their spirits were immediately lifted.

Zianna had many memories of her mom being pregnant, but it was a new experience for her siblings; Priel who had never seen Elphaba pregnant, and Liir and the twins who didn't really remember.

As Elphaba's stomach expanded, Fiyero loved how curious the kids were about the baby, though he refused to explain how it got in there in the first place. His wife had smacked him upside the head when one time he just told Priel that 'Mommy ate it'.

"Really?" She asked.

"It was all I could think of."

"Why does that not surprise me?"

He glared at her.

This baby was just what they needed to complete their family. The months that followed after they announced the pregnancy, Elphaba and Fiyero noticed that the kids seemed closer not just to them, but to each other. The number of fights and arguments had gone down considerably.

Her water broke just a little after New Year's Eve. Elphaba had been kind of glad this pregnancy had taken a little longer than her previous ones, Mackaeyla, Nailor, and Zianna already all had birthdays in December.

Fiyero picked up all the kids from school early and they waited with Galinda and Avaric outside the room. He'd held Elphaba's hand as she gave birth, like he had three times already. After about an hour, all the Tiggular children went inside to meet their new sibling. Or to everyone's surprise, siblings. Two sisters.

One of the babies had hidden behind the other in the ultrasound. Elphaba hadn't realized it either because her belly hadn't been that big, it had been about the same size as when she had been pregnant with Priel, much smaller than when she'd carried Nailor and Mackaeyla.

Everyone was completely enamoured by the tiny babies. Elphaba and Fiyero decided to name them after their mothers. Melena and Baxiana Tiggular.

In that full private hospital room, seven children were sound asleep. Zianna and Mackaeyla comfortably snuggled up together in a chair; Nailor, Liir, and Priel were in what had to be uncomfortable positions, all kinds of limbs on top of each other, on the couch; and the newborn babies in their incubators.

Fiyero was sitting on the hospital bed, Elphaba wrapped up in his arms. He kissed her softly, gently and tenderly.

"Mmm," she pulled away and caressed his cheek. "So, on a scale of one to ten, how freaked out were you when the doctor said 'it looks like she's got company'?"

He laughed. "Honestly? A lot more than ten."

"Yeah, me too," she sighed and laid her head on his chest, "but dear Oz, I already love them so much, even if I had no idea the other one was in there until today."

"Me too," Fiyero rubbed her body softly, allowing Elphaba to relax even more against him.

Her body was tired, but she herself wasn't actually sleepy. She was enjoying this quiet time with him. "We certainly have our hands full, don't we?"

"That we do."

She glanced up at him. "Think we can handle it?"

He kissed her again. "I'm ready for anything so long as it's with you."

"My love," she grinned and pressed their foreheads together. "But we're done. This factory is officially closed for business," she wrapped Fiyero's arms around her abdomen.

He chuckled. "I love you. So much, Fae."

"I love you too, Yero," she intertwined their hands and she turned her head to recieve another soft kiss on her lips.

This was going to be an adventure, but as Fiyero had said, she was ready because he was her partner. As long as he was by her side, she knew she would be ok. They all would.

I have something else in the works, Hurricane, Fiyeraba ofc. The whole thing is drafted. I just need to type it out. So far two chapters are fully typed out. Depending on demand, I might post the first chapter today. Haha jk, I'll see when I have time!
