AN: I didn't really feel like going into too much detail about the exam, it's not really that different to canon except for Kei's participation.

Arc Summary: "All things change; all people grow. Including Kei Weilan. The only question is, is that change for better...or for worse?"

Years have passed and the trio of orphans from Hage have grown. Asta, Yuno and Kei are now ready to set off and try their luck at the Magic Knights entrance exam. When Asta is accepted at the last moment by the Black Bulls captain, Kei, of course, follows him. However, the Black Bulls are nothing like what he had expected and Kei's views of the nobles, the commoners and Clover Kingdom at large, begin to shatter, one by one. But before he can truly begin to accept them and be accepted himself, there's one last hurdle to cross...

'DANCE IN THE MOONLIGHT' ARC

the foreign light mage and the anti-magic commoner part one

Finral hadn't expected much from this year's entrance exam. At most, the other squads would recruit the more promising newbies and he would be free to go at the end when nobody caught Yami's eye. Most of the members of the Black Bulls weren't recruited the conventional way after all. But this year's exams were turning to be a bigger spectacle than he had thought, first with the boy with the four-leaf clover, then the one with the odd swords that cut through magic. The third one however...

He was the one that immediately stood out from the crowd, even more so than the other two.

Although this was mostly because he was, beyond a shadow of a doubt, foreign.

The second surprising thing about him became obvious when the combat part of the exam came. The foreign boy was approached by someone, baited into accepting a duel. They split off and began the fight.

It didn't last even five minutes.

Before long, there was a blinding flash of white that briefly lit up the entire stadium. Finral winced and quickly snapped his eyes shut. When it died down and everyone could see again, the light mage was standing over his opponent, who had been thrown into a wall, bound by whips of pure silvery light.

A light mage.

A goddamn light mage at the magic knights entrance exam.

Finral could already tell where this would go.

(And he turned to be completely right too.)
