"The generator! It's been activated!" The Professor exclaimed with excitement as the sounds of rumbling from the huge machine echoed through the laboratory.
Fly, Chuck, Stella and Honey's family jumped with joy before they all huddled and hugged each other, pulling the Professor in too.
They celebrated with a cup of tea, all they needed to do now is wait for their safe return from the ocean.
The Professor opened the door to keep an eye out for any sign of the children that once lead to the balcony, but now there was no platform but a huge door that lead to nothing but a huge drop down into the sea.
An hour went by, and they heard noises of dolphins in the distance. Thinking nothing of it, they continued to chat amongst themselves with anticipation.
The dolphins reached the shore, dropping the children off close by so they could wade their way through the shallow water.
"So... I guess this is farewell." Honey said to Shelly, facing her as she petted her head.
"I guess so, but I'll always be around if you ever decide to come to the beach again." She replied.
"We gladly will if it means we can see you again." Chuck smiled.
"Look after her, Fly. She's a keeper." Shelly instructed him as she looked at Honey.
"Don't worry, I intend to." Fly replied as he wrapped his arm around Honey.
Stella went up to Shelly, embracing her into a big hug. "Bye bye Shelly, I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too, little one." Shelly hugged Stella back. "Take care of yourselves, and don't take that potion again! I bet you're sick of the sea now."
"Like you said, it'll always be a part of us. But I doubt we'd step foot into sea as fish again." Chuck chuckled.
"Good choice." Shelly chuckled.
Shelly and the other dolphins turned around and lead the way back into the sea as they all waved goodbye to the kids and they did the same to Shelly and her friends until they were out of sight and vanished into the sea.
The kids waded their way back to shore until their toes finally buried into the sand that lay on the beach. Honey and Fly turned around to look at the sea, admiring it carefully.
"You should be so proud." Honey told Fly.
"I wouldn't of done it without you." He said.
"Well duh, if I didn't nearly plunge to my death we wouldn't of been in there." She chuckled.
He chuckled back softly until he stopped and a faint smile took over his face. "I love you so much."
"And I love you, Fly."
He cupped his large hand under her jaw line, bringing her in to finally kiss him. Fireworks erupted and butterflies filled both of their body's as their hearts fluttered. She wrapped her arms around his neck and went on her tip toes which didn't really make much difference in her height compared to Fly, but they were both happy.
"Kids!" A voice shouted with relief.
They all whipped their heads around to see Anna, Chucks mother, on the stairs of the entrance to the professors lab. She raced down the steps along with Honey, Fly and Stella's parents and the Professor.
Anna ran as fast as she could until she reached Chuck and pulled him into her arms and he wrapped his around his mother tightly. Fly and Stella's parents reached them both, holding them both refusing to let go as they kissed their children over and over again with nothing but relief. Honey's mother and father finally reached her, swooping her up in both of their embrace refusing to let go of their daughter.
"Oh darling, we thought you weren't coming back." Honeys mother sobbed.
"My little girl, oh Honey I'm glad you're safe." Her fathers voice shook with fear and relief.
All of the families were finally reunited, they all huddled together on the beach as the children told the adults about how their time was in the ocean. They were just so relieved that they were safe.
Fly brought Honeys head down to lay on his chest and suddenly both of their families noticed the way they were acting.
"Care to tell us kids?" Bill smirked.
Honey and Fly looked at each other as their parents stared at them with bright smiles. They were both bright red.
"Tell you what?" Honey asked shyly.
"Well, It's not so difficult to see what you may need to share." Honeys mother, Pearl, said.
"I love him." Honey admitted, gripping Flys hand. "I always have."
They all melted at Honeys words.
"Does this mean Honey is your girlfriend now?!" Stella asked excitedly.
Honey and Fly looked at each other, he looked into her eyes as if he was asking and her smile was the answer.
"Of course she is, Stella."
Stella jumped with excitement and hugged the both of them.
"About time!" Honeys father exclaimed, getting home to hug the both of them.
As the night went on, they all waved goodbye to the Professor and went back to Fly and Stella's house. Honey went back home to take a shower and get into her pyjamas whilst Fly, Chuck and Stella did the same before she returned.
Honey stepped through the door in her emerald green pyjamas and damp hair whilst everyone sat in the living room, they all whipped their head around to the sound of the door to be happy to see that Honey had came back. Honey say next to Fly on the sofa, Stella sat on her nap as they all talked to each other about the sea and about their new friend Shelly.
"Honey, could you and Fly tuck me into bed?" Stella yawned.
"Come on then, let's get you to bed. We've had a tiring few days." Fly replied as he scooped her up into her arms.
"Stella wants us to take her to bed." Honey tells Lisa and Bill.
"Yes I bet she's tired, thank my my darlings." Lisa said to Honey, before getting up to kiss Stella on her cheek as her head lay on Flys shoulder. "Goodnight sweetie."
Honey followed Fly up the stairs as she smiled at Stella as her head lay on his shoulder, trying desperately to keep her eyes open. They reached Stella's room, Fly placed Stella gently on to her bed and tucked her in to make her comfortable. With no hassle, she fell into a deep sleep. They both admired her sweetly, before quietly leaving her room.
They stood awkwardly in the hallway in front of each other, before Fly kissed her passionately. He pulled away looking into her eyes.
"I wanted to do that for hours." He chuckled.
"I can tell." She chuckled back.
"So... you'll go to prom with me?" Fly nervously asked.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world... but what about your friends and everyone at school? They'll all laugh at you for being with me."
"Honey, don't you dare think for a second they will be laughing at us. It's jealousy, my friends would be jealous that I'm with such a beautiful girl like you and those girls are jealous of your beauty. Don't put yourself down, you're everything to me and I couldn't care less about what anyone thinks. Promise me from now on, you will NEVER put yourself down."
"I promise... You really do have a way with words."
"All I'm saying is the truth."
Honey smiled at him, before kissing him again.
Fly was over the moon with Honey, he could finally be with her. Even though he didn't enjoy becoming a fish and being in the ocean, he had to thank that experience for getting the girl he's always loved and dreamed of.
She was his safe place.
