A very small drabble for Neighborhood Watch.
Kensi wandered into the den, rubbing at her eyes. She frowned when she found Deeks standing in front of the bay window with his arms crossed and one leg flexed. He didn't seem to notice her presence.
"What are you doing?" she asked quietly, smothering a yawn. The muscles in his back twitching was the only sign that he was surprised. He turned to look at her, gesturing towards the window with his head.
"Looking at the moon; it's bright tonight," he answered, his voice soft in the otherwise silent house. Kensi camee to stand beside him, facing the direction he was looking, but not really seeing it.
"Why aren't you in bed?" He made a face at her question.
"Cause somebody was being a starfish again and hugging all the covers. Plus, you whopped me in the face. Twice." He held up two fingers.
"It's cold without you," Kensi said, definitely speaking as Melissa to maintain their covers. It had nothing to do with the fact that Deeks was warm and solid and much easier to sleep next to than she'd ever imagined.
"Fine, but at this rate, my face is going to be all black and blue," he sighed, jutting out his lower lip.
"Oh, then I guess I'll just have to kiss it all better." She leaned over, kissing his cheek. It was far less than she wanted to do at the moment, but the rush of heat she felt flash across Deeks' skin was gratifying.
"I'm suddenly very tired," he murmured.
