Naruto's Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Gold Kunai Run
Chapter 1: The Gold Kunai Run and Muddy Moon Part 1
December 1991, in the elusive lands known as the Elemental Nations. An event known as the Gold Kunai Run was being born. The five political heads known as the Kage were putting together the idea of the Gold Kunai Run Race. The race was simply to officially declare which Hidden Village was superior to the others. In the land of Iron, where Five Kage Summit was taking place, the Third Tsuchikage was the one who brought up the idea of a race.
"Only genin will be permitted to take part in this race. It will start in the outskirts of the Tsuchi no Kuni. The Genin will then go through the Hidden Stone, then onto Kaze no Kuni. Then through the Hidden River and so on and so forth. Until somebody crosses the finish line near the border between Tsuchi no Kuni and the Hidden Waterfall." Onoki proposed.
"I like the idea. It seems like a fun little way to show that the Hidden Mist is a force to be reckoned with." Mei, the Fifth Mizukage added.
"Honestly, I see this whole thing as pointless." the Fourth Raikage Ay, said. "It's obvious that one of my genin will win, so why bother organizing the whole thing?" he questioned cockily.
"Aww, is the mighty Raikage scared of a little friendly competition?" Tsunade mocked.
"I FEAR NO ONE!" Ay snapped back.
"If so, agree." Onoki replied.
"What about the cost?" Gaara, the acting Fifth Kazekage asked. "Such an event will require quite a lot of cash." he added
"I already have my Daimyo's backing." Onoki answered. "This will also be set up like a gamble of sorts." he continued while sneaking a glance at Tsunade. "We each have more genin in our village than we can count. There will be a check point at each Hidden Village, their respective Kage will be there waiting. We can put bets on who will arrive at each checkpoint first. With so much money being put in, we can split the rations between our villages. Battles will also be a major part of this race. The genin will obviously come across each other at some point. So, in battle, anything and everything will be allowed with the exception of lethal force."
"I see..." was all that Gaara said, before returning to his previous quiet demeanor.
"So, do I have everyone's agreement?" Onoki questioned, turning to the rest of the Kage.
"You have mine." Tsunade replied
"As well as mine." Mei added.
"Same here." said Gaara.
"I don't appreciate that earlier comment Tsunade. I'll enter for two reasons. To shows that the Hidden Cloud is superior-" Tsunade snorted at this. "And if by some crazy impossible way the Hidden Cloud can't win, my second reason will be to make sure the Hidden Leaf can't either." Ay said while looking dead into Tsunade's eyes.
"I think it should be brought to attention that I will be participating in the race." Gaara said.
"Wait a moment, how is that fair?!" Ay snapped. "Don't forget I am not Kazekage yet, and even if I was, I am still a genin. I do not have Kage Level skill and even though I am a Jinchuriki, the amount of chakra I have isn't that far above any of yours." Gaara replied, all while keeping his calm composure.
"He's correct Ay." Tsunade said. Ay just grunted in response.
"Now that all this is out of the way, what should we call the race?" Mifune, the organizer of the Summit and the General of the Land of Iron asked Onoki.
Onoki smirked in response, and replied "The Gold Kunai Run."

A few days after the Summit, each jonin sensei across the Elemental Nations was asked to register there teams for the race.
In Konoha, Team 7 was currently discussing the topic.
"This race, is going to be epic!" Konoha's very own Naruto Uzumaki exclaimed. "I couldn't agree with you more, but what kind of lame name is 'the Gold Kunai Run'?" Sasuke Uchiha, one of Naruto's teammates questioned. "What do you mean? That name is epic!" Naruto shot back.
"Not so loud Naruto!" his other teammate, Sakura Haruno scolded him, giving him a light punch on the top of his head. In the recent months, Sakura had grown to like Naruto much more than she previously did. However, that's not to say he didn't still annoy her. And he was nothing compared to 'her Sasuke-kun'.
Naruto bounced right back from that punch. "After I win the race, everybody will see how awesome I am, and then, I will be recognized throughout the nations! Everybody will know my name! Naruto Uzumaki! The greatest Hokage Konoha has ever seen!"
"Don't get too arrogant Naruto. There are a lot of genin out there. Some who have skills that far outclass yours. It's not too farfetched to believe that there's a genin out there who can keep up with me!" Kakashi told his student.
"Whatever! When's the race Kakashi-sensei?" Naruto asked.
"Friday in Tsuchi no Kuni. This means all the Konoha genins that are participating will have to leave tomorrow." Kakashi replied.
As they continued discussing the race, a person was currently heading towards Konoha. He was wearing a cowboy styled hat with goggles on top. He had a purple top on, covered in small green balls. He also had three purple armbands around each of his biceps. He had a gold cape on, which were connected to two small kunai pouches. His pants and shoes were also gold, and he had a silver belt with a green belt buckle. He also had lime green lipstick on.
As he approached Konoha, he was stopped by one of the guards, Izumo.
"Halt! State your business here!" Izumo commanded.
"I would like to join Konoha in order to register for the Gold Kunai Run race." the man replied.
"Tell us your village/country of origin and your name please." Kotetsu replied.
The man said "I come from the far east of the Elemental Nations, from across the sea. And my name, is Gyro Zeppeli."

It was finally the day of the race, December 12, 1991.
Naruto was expecting a lot of people to be there, but he wasn't expecting this many. First off, there were a lot more genin in Konoha than he remembered, about twice as many that were in the Chunin Exams, and the total amount from all across the nations was like that, times five! Naruto had come totally prepared, today for breakfast, he ate his Ultra Uber Miso Pork Ramen, a ramen he only saves for the most special occasions. He looked around and saw Gaara and his siblings standing a few feet away from him. He grinned, Gaara may have been recognized as the Kazekage in his village, but this time, Naruto was coming in first! Gaara will have to settle for second. Onoki flew up to a podium and started his announcement. Hello, and welcome to all the genin that have come here prepared to race in the Gold Kunai Run!" he started. A deafening roar was heard from the genin, fortunately for Onoki, his hearing was starting to deteriorate.
"The rules are fairly simple, you are to race from village to village, receiving a scroll in each of the Five Great Villages. There is a hotel in every hidden village for you to rest in when you are tired. After receiving a scroll from a village, you will travel to the next hidden village. The race starts here and ends in the Hidden Waterfall Village. Up on this podium, there are scrolls which have a map of the Elemental Nations. You are not to steal another person or teams scroll. If you show up with more than one scroll in your hand, it will be assumed that it belongs to another team and you will be disqualified. You are allowed to stop and give up in any of the villages. If you choose to do so, you will be escorted back to your village by jonin from your respective village. You are allowed to battle with each other, but killing is strictly prohibited. Teams are allowed. It doesn't matter who you team up with, as long as your group of shinobi does not exceed seven. You are also allowed to go solo if you wish. You will have ten minutes to gather up your team. Starting now." Onoki stated, as he flew down from the podium.
Naruto turned to look at his team. "So, what's our strategy guys?" Naruto asked with a wide grin.
"Sorry dobe, but I'm doing this by myself. If I ever want to have a prayer of killing Itachi, then I need to prove to myself that I can overcome obstacles this large without any outside help" Sasuke said as he started walking off. Naruto smile faltered. Then turned to Sakura, who had seemingly read his mind, and said "Sorry Naruto, but Sasuke-kun might need my help." before taking off after him. Ino apparently overheard what happened, and rushed after Sasuke as well. Naruto looked ahead of him, shocked, before lowering his head. He was clearly hurt by the abandonment of his teammates. He couldn't believe that they'd leave him just like that! Did Kakashi-sensei's teachings mean that little to them?
A few of the genin surrounding him started to laugh and tease him.
"Is the little tree-hugger gonna cry now that his team left him?" a girl from the Hidden Rock mocked.
"Honestly, Konoha-nin are so soft" said a boy from the Hidden Mist.
Even Kiba teased Naruto a bit, telling him 'Toughen up' and 'If you're a real man, you can do this by yourself'
Naruto was ready to retort, when he heard a voice in front of him.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to join forces with you."
Naruto looked up to see a young man, maybe in his early twenties, looking at him. He was wearing a cowboy hat, with a purple top, and gold pants. He had long blonde hair, and was wearing lime lipstick.
"Who are you?" Naruto asked curiously.
The man just broke out into a grin and replied "The name's Gyro. Gyro Zeppeli." Naruto could see that Gyro's teeth were gold, and had the message 'GO! GO! ZEPPELI!' chiseled into them.
"Ok Gyro, why would you want to team up with me of all people?" Naruto asked suspiciously.
"Because, you were just abandoned by your teammates, leaving you by yourself. I am also by myself so I found it logical to team up with you. On a related note, I don't see anyone else trying to join you" Gyro pointed out.
"Good point...I guess." Naruto replied.
Naruto was disappointed by the fact that he was left alone, and had to join up with somebody he just met. This kind of stuff was to be expected by Sasuke, but from Sakura? Was she really that attached to Sasuke? How could she do that to him after everything they've been through?
He was interrupted from his thoughts by Gyro telling him "Naruto let's get a move on! The race just started!" and Gyro taking off. "Wait for me Gyro!" Naruto shouted after him.

The race started about three minutes ago, and it was already a war zone. Jutsu and weapons were flying everywhere. Team 8 was currently making good progress. "Alright guys! We're already ahead of most of the other teams!" Kiba told his teammates, with Akamaru yipping in agreement. While Shino and Kiba were thinking about the race, Hinata couldn't help but feel sad for her crush. She should've offered to join him, or at least invited him to her team, but at the same time, she felt like that would be betraying her team, so she didn't.
Speaking of Naruto, him and Gyro were one of the only teams in front of Team 8. The other teams were Team 9 and a group of genin from the Hidden Cloud. Naruto used the Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu to swarm the other teams, so him and Gyro were doing pretty good. Gyro on the other hand was setting up traps everywhere. Eventually, they lost track of the other teams.
"Crap! We lost the other teams! We can't lose!" Naruto panicked.
"What are you panicking for Naruto? The race hasn't even went on for half an hour yet!" Gyro reminded him. Naruto stopped panicking, and turned to his partner. "Yea, you're right. Come on, let's pick up the pace!" Naruto said before he was knocked down to the ground. Gyro looked at what hit his fallen teammate. It was one of the Hidden Cloud shinobi from earlier, and she had a wicked grin on her face. She was wearing a standard Hidden Cloud uniform and had short brown hair. "You're Gyro Zeppeli correct?" she asked.
"What's it to you?" he replied, pulling out a kunai. In turn, the kunoichi just laughed and threw a couple of kunai with paper tags attached to them. "You'll see soon enough!" she replied to him with a crazed look in her eyes. Gyro tried backing out of the way, but got caught up in one of the explosions. He got knocked onto his back, and looked up to see the kunoichi shoot Naruto with some sort of golden arrow.
"Naruto!" Gyro called out to him, seeing his partner pass out. "I'll be taking Uzumaki-san now Mr. Gyro." she said as she picked him up and started to retreat. Gyro quickly got up and gave chase. 'Looks like I'll have to use it' Gyro thought to himself. "Ball Breaker!" he called out, as his stand manifested and hit the girl in her back. (We're gonna pretend that Ball Breaker is a regular-sized stand) She fell over, releasing Naruto from her grip. Gyro quickly ran over to Naruto, and carried him to shelter. The kunoichi was about to get back up when she noticed she felt significantly weaker. She looked down at herself only to see that she had aged quite a bit. Her arms and legs resembled that of a skeleton now, and her skin was all wrinkly.
She cursed to herself and muttered "He isn't gonna be happy about this." before slowly, but surely making her way back to where her teammates were waiting for her.

When Naruto woke up, he saw that he was in a cave of sorts. He sat up and looked around to find Gyro walking up next to him. "Did ya sleep good?" he asked Naruto with a grin on his face. Naruto just stuck his tongue out in response. "You've been out for a few hours. There's no doubt about it, we fell behind quite a lot." Gyro sad while sighing. "Well then let's get going!" Naruto said springing up and running out of the cave.
Gyro's eyes widened as he got up and rushed towards Naruto. "Naruto wait! I set up traps all around the entrance!" Gyro shouted, however, it was too late. A volley of kunai came whizzing towards Naruto. Naruto tried to back up, before realizing that he was stuck in place. The kunai were now too close for Naruto to avoid, and he just waited for the kunai to embed themselves in his flesh. That moment never came however, as two whitish transparent arms came out of Naruto and knocked all the kunai away with a barrage if punches. Gyro stopped running a few feet away from Naruto. "What the hell was that!?" Naruto exclaimed. 'Was that...?' Gyro thought, before grinning. 'Nyo ho ho ho. If that's what I think that is, then we might be able to get our spot back rather quickly' Gyro thought to himself.
Naruto was trying to figure out what just happened. A bunch of kunai were aiming for him one minute, and the next, a pair of ghostlike arms punch all of them away? "Hey Naruto." said a voice behind him. He turned his head to see Gyro with his fist cocked back and aiming for his face. "G-gyro?" Naruto could only question before Gyro's fist was caught by the white arm. This time however, more of whatever the hell that thing was came out. Naruto just looked at it. It was a humanoid wearing white armor with a golden sun symbol on it's chest. It also had white gloves on it's hands and wings were protruding out of his back. The thing cocked it's left arm back, and decked Gyro in the face.
"Gyro! Are you ok?" Naruto asked him. "I'm fine." he replied. "It seems my hypothesis was correct." Gyro added. "Hypothesis? What hypothesis?" Naruto asked with curiosity.
"That being beside you is known as a Stand. They are entities generated by it's owners life energy. The owners of stands are called Stand Users."
"How do you know about them?" Naruto questioned. "I have a stand of my own. It's named Ball Breaker."
Naruto got excited. "I can't wait to show my friends my Stand! They're gonna be so jealous!" Naruto said. "That's highly unlikely." Gyro informed Naruto while proceeding to free him from his trap. "What do ya mean 'highly unlikely'!?" Naruto exclaimed as he was finally freed.
Gyro continued to tell Naruto about stands. Little did they know, they were being watched by two shadowy figures. The first one said "Looks like the runt has acquired a Stand." The second then said "Mission accomplished. Let's head back to base".

Sasuke hated his life at the moment. Despite his wishes, Ino and Sakura joined up with him. Now, he was currently defending the two from a group of four shinobi; two from the Hidden Rock and two from the Hidden Sand. He was contemplating whether or not to just bail and leave them to fight the shinobi.

In some sort of hidden lair, a shadowy figure was sitting in a throne. "You say you've successfully given the Uzumaki a stand?" he asked. "Y-yes master." one of the three Hidden Cloud shinobi replied.
"Good. Now bring him to me without failure. Surely you didn't forget what happened to the last group that failed?" the figure asked.
"No sire. Of course not." the female Cloud shinobi said.
"Well? Off you go then." the figure said as the three shinobi hightailed it out of there, tripping over they're own feet. "Naruto Uzumaki. You will be the one that helps me acquire what I so rightfully deserve."
"You!" he said pointing to one of his henchmen, who immediately tensed up. "Go get Gojira. I have a mission for him."

"Alright Naruto. How did you feel when you brought out your Stand earlier?" Gyro asked him. "Well, my body tightened up. It felt like there was just this...force in my body that I needed to pull." Naruto answered.
"Well then that's what you need to feel each time you're bringing out your Stand. We need to catch up in this race, and that stand of yours could be our trump card." Gyro told him. "Now, I'm going to attack you again. Try to bring out your Stand." he instructed as he ran towards Naruto, brining out Ball Breaker this time to attack.
Naruto nodded his head, before he was enveloped in a white aura. Just as Ball Breaker was about to punch Naruto, Naruto's Stand was manifested and it blocked the punch with it's left arm. Then, it punched Ball Breaker with extreme speed with it's right. Ball Breaker just barely ducked before he got kicked on the right side of his head. Naruto noticed that Gyro's head also jerked left, as if he was the one getting kicked. "Uh Gyro? What did you jerk your head like that for?" Naruto asked him, pausing his assault.
"I thought I mentioned this already, but any damage inflicted on the Stand is also inflicted on the user, and vice versa. This means that you have to be extremely careful when handling your Stand. If that golden arrow you got shot with was able to give you a Stand, it's safe to assume that there are other stand users in this race, which isn't good for us at all." Gyro said while getting up. "Anyway enough talk. Let's hurry and get to the Hidden Sand." Gyro said already running away.
"Why does he always leave me?" Naruto questioned himself as his Stand dissipated and he followed his partner.
In a different part of the race, a reformed Team 10 were making good time. After escaping the opposing shinobi, Sasuke tracked down Shikamaru and Choji and dropped her off while she was unconscious. Ino was feeling a bit sad that Sasuke just up an abandoned her like that. Was this how Naruto felt? "Oi! Ino! Look alive, we've made it to the Hidden Stone!" Shikamaru informed her. At he and Choji came to a halt at the gates.
"Excuse me sir, how many teams have made it here already?" Choji politely asked. "Only four." he replied. That was good news. If they were in fifth place and they were already nearing the first checkpoint, they still had a strong chance of winning this.
"Follow us, we'll direct you to the hotel you'll be staying at." the other Guard said before walking away.
The hotel was nothing too special. It had six stories and looked a few decades old. "Ino, you'll get your own room, Choji and I can share." Shikamaru told her. "Although we are one of the first teams to make it here, we are far from winning the race. We need to think of a strategy." he told his teammates.
Back with Naruto, he and Gyro could see the gates of the Hidden Stone a few hundred feet in front of them. "Whew, we finally made it!" Naruto said exasperated.
"How many teams have made it this far sir?" Gyro asked one of the guards once they arrived at the gate.
"Eight of them." he replied.
"Nyo ho ho ho, so we made even better time than I thought! Come on Naruto, lets get checked in to he hotel, we need a place to sleep for the night." Gyro said while grinning like a madman. He and Naruto took off for the village, clearly joyful at the fact that they weren't as far back as they thought.
"We didn't even tell them where the hotel is..." one of the guards said.
"Meh. Let them figure it out." replied the other.

"So Naruto, what did you name your Stand?" Gyro asked his companion. "Huh, I haven't thought up a name yet." he answered as he brought out his Stand. It truly did have an angel-like appearance. The wings, the white attire, the golden sun on it's chest. After a few more seconds of thinking he replied "Angel Dust."
"Angel Dust huh? Not a bad name." Gyro said while climbing in his bed. "We should get to bed. Losing this race is not an option and we need to wake up early if we want to get a jump on some of the other teams." Gyro said.
"Give me ten minutes. I'm going to get some fresh air." Naruto said before exiting his hotel room and making his way to the roof.
What Naruto hadn't realized, was that somebody had followed him up there. As he was stargazing, he heard a voice behind him ask "They're beautiful aren't they?"
He quickly turned around and got into a fighting position. It was a teenager around 17 years old. He had black, curly hair and a few strands were curled up on his forehead (Like Superman). He was wearing a white top that had an large 'X' shaped rip in the center of it, where it was showing his bare chest. He had regular black shinobi pants on and an earring on his left ear with what looked like an exploding tag attached to it. He also had a red Hidden Mist forehead protector around his right bicep.
"Who are you?" Naruto asked with a frown on his face.
"Woah there! No need to get violent, I just wanted to talk. My names Gojira. No surname." the man, now dubbed Gojira answered.
Naruto's stance faltered a little bit, before he dropped it completely. "Ok Gojira, what is it you wanted to talk about?" Naruto demanded. "My boss would like your assistance in plan of his." Naruto looked baffled. "What does he need me for?" he asked curiously
"You have a Stand correct?" Gojira asked. Naruto slowly nodded. "Well then, that means you can be of assistance to him." Gojira continued.
'Sounds like the whole 'Sasuke and Orochimaru' deal, leave me out of it.' Naruto thought before replying "Sorry, but I'm not interested."
Gojira sighed. "That's just too bad. And here I was hoping that I wouldn't have to get into any altercations for this mission" he said before he was surrounded by a dark gray aura.
"W-what?" was all that Naruto could say before he got rushed by a Stand that obviously belonged to Gojira. The Stand poked him in the head.
"Was that all? I could barely even feel that!" Naruto mocked before preparing to rush towards a grinning Gojira.
That was when Naruto found out that he couldn't move.
"What is going on!" he demanded.
"What you're experiencing right now is the power of my Stand, Silver Blood. It has the ability to suspend anything in motion for as long as I want." Gojira answered with a smirk.
Naruto grit his teeth as he was dragged by Gojira. "Come on Uzumaki." he told him.
"Where are you taking me!?" Naruto shouted.
"That's for me to know and for you to find out. Your partner will be a problem for us in the future, so I've been assigned the task of eliminating him." Gojira informed him.
Naruto eyes widened, before he tried to bite Gojira, earning him a punch in the face from Silver Blood. The last thing he head before losing consciousness was "What a pity."

When Naruto woke up, he found himself chained up in some sort of dark room. He then remembered what happened on the roof.
"Damnit! I've gotta get out of here!" he cursed. He then saw a huge rat in the corner of the room. It started sniffing the air, then, slowly making it's way to him.
"Ahhh! What the hell?!" he shouted as he tried to move back, falling out of the chair he was chained up in. He used Angel Dust to break the chains he was in. That's when he realized something.
"I..can move again?" he questioned himself. "Whatever, I've gotta get back to Gyro!" he told himself, before the door leading to the outside of that room opened.
One of the cloud genin from earlier walked in. "Oh, so you're up?" he asked.
"Where the hell am I, and who are you? Why the hell are you cloud genin popping up everywhere?" he demanded.
The genin just chuckled.
"My name isn't important." he chuckled. "What you need to worry about is how you're going to tell Gyro about us." he informed Naruto.
"What the hell are you talking about?!" Naruto questioned.
The genin just chuckled again. "My Stand isn't very useful for combat, but it's the best Stand you can have in this sort of situation." he told Naruto.
At this point, Naruto decided he had enough, and activated Angel Dust. Angel Dust landed a hard right hook on the genin's face that sent him through the door of the room he was in.
'Damn, I didn't expect his stand to be so powerful.' the genin thought to himself.
Naruto walked out of the room and glared at the genin. "Siht si eht tsrif dna tsal gninraw ll'I evig uoy. Yats eht lleh yawa morf em dna Oryg!" Naruto hissed. That's when he realized what he just said. 'What the hell was that?' he questioned himself before the cloud genin burst out in laughter.
"My Stand, Muddy Moon, only activates after I am attacked, and it allows me to alter that person's communication! Now, not only will you say everything backwards, you'll write everything backwards as well!" the genin informed him before he made a quick getaway.
'Damnit! What the hell am I supposed to do now?!' Naruto asked himself.
