The cold raindrops trickle through the holes of her umbrella as they hit her face and begin to blend with the tears of denial. Why is she in denial? The bodies of her friends are decaying right below her own two feet. Why is that so hard to believe?
"Im... a coward. I'm scum. I'm worthless. Hesitating to save the ones i promised to protect. Forsaking my own morals... How human." She wipes the tears from her face.
"I sit here thinking about the sweet and wholesome memories i have with my friends. They used to bring me so much joy... So much happiness... It filled that void in my soul." -she reaches out to the sky- "So why... Why do these memories... BRING ME NOTHING BUT PAIN!!!"
The storm starts to reflect the inner parts of Kaitana's heart. The rain gets heavier... And heavier... And heavier. After a few minutes Kaitana gets a call.
"Captain Rose! We have an emergency! Colossal size aragami spotted 6 kilometers west! Ge-" *BOOM* "GET GOING! NOW!!!" Hibari screams.
Kaitana's confusion begins to show on her face. "Wait... What's going on?!?! HIBARI! TALK T-"
"Try not to worry about us... You don't have to die here too..." Hibari says as the intercoms cut out.
The captain begins to clench her god arc as new tears cover her face. Loosing the will to continue on is one of the most painful things. I most certainly wouldn't want to experience such a thing. But Captain Rose has lost her will to fight. So much despair... The feeling of loneliness. Kaitana begins to bang her armlet on the ground in an attempt to kill herself. She bangs... And bangs... And bangs. The next attempt is stopped by a pair of hands.
More tears fall. "Let it happen... It hurts too much."
"No... I refuse to let you die here. I know exactly how you feel Kai... Pick that damn god arc up and fight!" The man tells her.
Kaitana turns around in anger. "AND WHAT THE HELL DO YOU KNOW ABO- wait... Soma?"
Ein looks into Kaitana's eyes. "Yeah idiot its me... You know that i understand what you're feeling deep down. You're... The only one left that i still care about. I cant let you die here."
"Why help someone who's so far gone?" Kaitana asks.
"Because... *puff* I see parts of me in your heart. Seeing... you in pain hurts me so much... Im going to give my life for your port. Theres a good chance everyone dies and this will be my last time seeing you... I long to be with my allies. So please, promise me this... Promise that you'll give meaning to my death. It would piss my off to die in vain. But most importantly...
Don't die alone."
Ein runs off as Kaitana finally stands. She reaches out to Ein only to realize that there is no way to turn him around. She stands up as they run their separate ways walking two different paths. One of life... And one of death.
One of the scariest things about losing the people you care about is that you begin to get used to it. And once you get used to that pain you become what you fear most. Every day we as people experience things that are hard to get over. Losing someone you love. Loosing your freedom. Loosing yourself.
At times getting over that pain is hard and almost impossible. But that pain makes us who we are. Guiding us to the best version of who we can be. Without it... We wouldn't be human.
After an hour of running Kaitana finally reaches her destination. But it seems the sight of it all brings nothing but disgust to her heart and face. A Crimson Orochi the size of a building. Towering over everything it comes in contact with.
Anxiety creeps throughout every inch and crevice of her mind. "Wh- Wh- What th- th- th- the hell is that?"
"So its just me against this... Hehehehe... Looks like I wont be able to keep either of your promises Soma... What a fitting end for a coward."
"Once again one ally after another... they fall before me. I guess this is just bad karma for letting them die right? After I VOWED to keep them safe... I said i would" -she wipes the tears from her face- "give my life for an ally. After the hundreds that have died i haven't saved a single one." Kaitana says as she griefs.
"The tears wont stop. They just wont. Maybe im cursed to be in eternal pain... I'LL END THIS PAIN RIGHT NOW!!!"
The screams of agony echo throughout the ashlands. Sand falls, ash flies, blood falls and souls fly. The clank of an armlet against a human skull. The banging of an armlet against the human skull. Such a death is a mercy for God Eater's.
The blood curdling screams of Kaitana draw in the enraged Crimson Orochi. As the aragami slowly closes in she begins to laugh manically. A laugh of defeat, a laugh of pain, a laugh... Of insanity.
"KILL ME! DO IT!!! PUT ME OUT OF MY GOD DAMN MISERY!!!"
following the scream it charges head first towards the captain. The distance closes.

And closes
The drool pools over her forehead as its mouth fully encapsulates the captain.
"Now... At least my pain can end." Shes says while inside of the mouth.
Suddenly a slice can be heard and the jaw releases, setting free the captain. Quick and deft footsteps can be heard around Kaitana.
"HURRY IT UP DIPSHITS! WASTE ANY TIME AND SHE'LL DIE!" A women yells.
"Who the hell does Nana thi-"
"Can you just shut the hell up and do your DAMN JOB MESSIAH!" A young light skinned man says.
He lets out a sigh as he picks up his scythe and moves into position. After having its mouth sliced open, the Crimson Orochi flips backwards as the earth shakes. Nana dashes over to Kaitana.
"Get up! Now isn't the time to sit on your ass!"
"No... I don't want to. Leave me here. I- I'm not fit to be a God Eater."
Nana delivers a strong slap. "COMPLETE BULLSHIT! YOU EITHER DIE RIGHT NOW WITH YOUR REGRETS OR LIVE TO AVENGE THE FALLEN!!!"
She walks away from Kaitana. "Chose your fate. If you want more blood on your shoulders then stay here and cry."
Nana leaps in the air to engage in combat. She lands right beside Messiah.
"So... Is she ready for combat?" Messiah asks.
Nana shakes her head in response.
"So i guess that leads to plan b... LIEUTENANT QUINN! SWITCHING TO PLAN B!"
Quinn patches into the intercom. "You don't have to yell dumbass... Press the button on your ear next time. Anyways, the shot will be ready in exactly two minutes... Hold it off till then."
The two nod their heads as they face off against the colossal Crimson Orochi. It stands still as the dust rises due to the tension. As the sand falls... It dashes. Shaking the earth and Leaving behind nothing but a wall of sand. Ferociously leaping towards the adversity it faces Messiah dashes straight at the Aragami followed by Nana.
"slice its achilles!" Nana says.
Messiah and Nana synchronize their strikes as they cut deep and often. Albeit not enough to destroy its bonds.
"SHIT! IT'S NOT ENOUGH! HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU NEED?!?!"
Lieutenant Quinn continues to prep his shot. "Another minute! I need it immobilized!"
The aragami roars loudly as a ball of energy begins to grow from its disgusting mouth.
Nana grits her teeth. "Damnit! We cant cut deep enough..."
"The aragami is forming some sort of ball of energy from its mouth! Its exploding in... Oh no... Ten seconds..." Lt Quinn says in despair.
Nana drops her god arc and falls to her knees. "We... We're going to die here."
Messiah clenches his god arc. "No... No... I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS! I WILL KEEP" *SLASH*
"FIGHTING"

"TILL I BREATH"
PUFF*
"MY LAST DAMN BREATH!!!"
He falls to his knees as he slowly loses consciousness. "For that is what it means... To give meaning to the people you've... Lost."
"All of these people fighting for my sake... Everyone in heaven would be looking down on me right now... I'll... I'LL CHOOSE MY OWN DAMN FATE!!! RIGHT HERE" -Kaitana clenches her god arc- "AND RIGHT NOW!"
She fulfills her blood oath and enters blood rage. Within the blink of an eye she cuts through all four of the Aragami bonds which immobilizes it. Causing the ball of energy to disperse.
She gives Quinn a look of victory as he shoots the bullet. It shoots several bullets which collide with each other only to increase its power and speed. Not even a second later it pierces the monsters skull. Completely incinerating it on impact. Quinn jumps off of his post as he runs towards Kaitana while almost completely out of breath.
He huffs ans puffs as he finally reaches her. Kaitana looks at Quinn and Nana and gives off a huge smile.
"Looks like we won Captain..." Nana says.
Kaitana nods in response.
Quinn begins to walk north as he motions at the other two. "Cmon... We're all going to Port Carter. My father runs it and there's more than enough room for us."
Nana picks up Messiah's unconscious body as if giving him a piggy back ride. "Yeah... Sounds like a good idea. Cmon Captain, your new beginning starts now."
Kaitana begins to shed tears of joy and happiness. She stands up proud as she walks with the three new bonds she has forged.
"Hehehe... That Kaitana girl... Was kinda cute... Hehehe." Messiah says while half asleep on Nana's back.
Nana's face winces in slight disgust. "I hate this little shit already..."
Quinn gives off a slight chuckle. "We just met. Hate him already?"
"I kind of like him. Hehehe... He seems like a jokester." Kaitana says.
Messiah sneezes in his sleep. "Nana... And Quinn are... Assholes."
The captain laughs as she almost tumbles over. "Seems like he hates you two!"
Nana loosens her grip on Messiah.
"But... I love them... They're like family. The family I... Never had." A tear trickles down his face.
Quinn snickers and Nana gives off a slight blush. She tightens her grip on the young man as they all continue to walk. To think that each one of these people carry their own luggage. Heavy cases that are hard to carry alone. The newfound bonds that each of these people now share help lighten that burden that they carry. Their hands help lift some of that baggage that they carry. They take care of each other's pain. And together with the bonds that they share... They Ready themselves for this new beginning they'll write for mankind.
No matter what's ahead, hope will lead them through.
