Before her first day back at school, Hope spent the night in her dorm with Landon's arms wrapped around her. Freya and Davina had helped her bring her things back to school the previous afternoon, before they went back to New Orleans and San Francisco, Rebekah and Marcel had decided to stay in Mystic Falls for a few more weeks since Hope needed more training and Marcel was the best person to help her.

The newly turned tribrid had woken up at 5:30 that morning, an hour earlier than she would have not even two weeks ago, she knew word had spread about her transition and everyone was talking about her, which was something she hated before but now she could hear what they all said even from the other side of the school, and it made it all so much worse. After waking up, Hope laid in bed for a few extra minutes enjoying having Landon so close, before standing up and making her way towards the bathroom, she spent an extra ten minutes in the shower than she had to, just standing under the hot spray of water. When she went back into the bedroom to grab her hair dryer, she found Landon was still fast asleep and he still was even after she had dried her hair and wrapped herself in a satin robe.

Hope felt reluctant to wake him but knew that he had to get ready for the day before they could go down for breakfast together and even if the mini fridge filled with bags of human blood that she now had installed in her room was enough for her, Landon couldn't survive by drinking blood and could get annoyed easily when he was hungry. She moved to sit on the edge of the bed and began moving her hand up and down his arm, to wake him gently, he roused slowly and with a groan, blinking tiredly.

Hope smiled softly, enjoying the way he looks after first waking up. Unable to resist she leaned down and pressed her lips against his before whispering quietly, "morning," she kisses him again and sits up straight. "You should probably get up if you want breakfast before class."

"No," Landon grumbles and pulls on her wrist, so she falls against him, Hope lets out a giggle as she pushes herself up onto her elbow.

"Come on," she tells him seriously, "we can't be late for class."

"Okay," he sits up and looks around sleepily, "I'm going to shower," he kisses her quickly and makes his way into her bathroom, leaving Hope alone to finish getting ready.

They went down to the dining hall together and Hope pulled him towards the table the twins were sitting at while also avoiding the looks the rest of the students were throwing her way. When Lizzie spotted her, she jumped up to hug her tightly, "I have missed you so much," the blonde tells her happily.

"I missed you both too," Hope says as she leans over the table to hug Josie.

"A lot has happened," Josie pulls away with a smile.

"Like what?" Hope asks curiously.

"Like MG and Lizzie," Josie smirks while looking at her sister who had turned red.

"Seriously!" Hope turns to look at Lizzie in shock, "how did that happen?"

After returning from the airport, Lizzie went up to her room to unpack the duffle bag she had taken with her and then went to grab dinner with Josie, knowing that both of her parents were still busy with the Mikaelsons. The dining hall was almost empty as the kitchen staff would soon be finishing for the day, so it was just the two sisters.

"So, what do I say to him?" Lizzie asked her sister who sat across from her, "it's not like I can just go up to him and admit I have feelings for him."

"Why not?" Josie raised an eyebrow, "everyone knows that he has feelings for you."

"But what if he doesn't?" Lizzie question, her insecurity showing.

"I promise, he does. I know it," Josie assures her. "So, finish eating and go tell him how you feel."

"Okay, I can do this," Lizzie takes a deep breathe before turning her attention back to her food.

After finishing her meal, Lizzie left her sister and went in search of MG, heading straight towards his and Kaleb's room. She didn't get far, bumping into him halfway up the stairs, "hi," she greets, suddenly growing nervous, "I was just coming to find you," she follows him to the bottom of the staircase before they stop to face each other.

"Uh, okay. What's up?" MG asks leaning against the back of a nearby chair.

"I wanted to… say…" she pauses awkwardly, unsure of what to say next, "thank you… for coming to Mexico City to help save my mom and Hope."

"Of course," MG flashes a smile he only uses around the blonde, "I'd do anything for you and that includes going up against a bunch of crazy vampires to save your mom and best friend. Plus, after what I did to Landon, I think I owed it t-" The vampire's words are cut off by Lizzie pressing her lips against his and her hands cupping either side of his face, quickly recovering from the shock of having his crush practically throw herself at him, MG wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her back.

"Obviously we talked after the kiss, but we went on a date at the weekend, and I've never had a guy treat me as well as he does," Lizzie smiles before turning to her sister, "but I'm not the only one with news about their love life."

"Is this about who I think it's about?" Hope asks excitedly.

Josie rushed to her first class of the day, Chemistry of Magic, and dropped into the seat closest to her.

"Not like you to be late to classes Jojo," Penelope whispered from the seat next to her.

"It's been a long a few days," Josie explained equally as quiet.

"So, I heard," Penelope smirked. "If you asked, I could've helped, you know?"

"You and Lizzie would've killed each other before we even got to the airport."

"You're wrong, because hurting Lizzie means hurting you, I'd never want to do that again."

Josie looked at her ex-girlfriend for a moment before turning her focus to the teacher at the front of the room, a small smile on her face. They didn't talk for the rest of the class and had different lessons the rest of the day, so Josie knew if she wanted to talk to Penelope, she'd have to go looking for her, so she did. After finishing her last class, Josie went straight to Penelope's room, where she knew the witch went to change at the end of every day. Taking a deep breathe she quickly knocked on the door before she could change her mind.

"Hey, Jojo," Penelope opens the door, dressed in leggings and a sports bra. "To what do I owe this surprise?"

"I've missed you," She admits quickly, "I've missed being with you."

"Me too," Penelope smiles softly.

"I was hoping that you'd be willing to give us another shot?" Josie asks, trying her best to sound confident.

"I would love to, but what about Lizzie?"

"She'll have to get over it. She doesn't get to choose who I date."

"You're sure?"

"I've never been surer of anything in my life."

"Okay," Penelope lets the smile take over her face before pulling Josie into the room and kissing her.

"Okay," Josie echoes against the other girl's lips.

"And you're okay with this?" Hope looks over to the blonde twin sceptically.

"I'm trying to be," Lizzie confesses. "She's making Jo happy and as the supportive twin sister that I am, it is my job to be happy for her."

"But enough about us," Josie smiles. "How was your week?"

"Having every living Mikaelson and their spouses under one roof for an entire week reminded me why they're all spread across the country and why it's best that way," Hope rolls her eyes. "That's why we're only together at holidays or when something bad happens."

"When was the last time you were all together?" Landon asks curiously.

"Christmas and New Year's in San Francisco," Hope answers easily.

"But your birthday is in May and its currently September, did they not visit for that?" Josie questions, appalled by the idea of Hope's family not visiting for her first birthday since the death of her parents.

"Freya and Keelin wanted to wait until the doctor said it was okay for the baby if they travelled, so they flew out a few days after and Rebekah and Marcel flew out for a few days the week before," Hope explains. "Probably for the best anyway, the last time everyone was together voluntarily, I got possessed by an ancient witch."

"Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm so happy that I'm not a Mikaelson," Lizzie speaks up just before the warning bell rings throughout the dining hall, telling them it was time to head to class.

The End.

Author's Note:

I decided to go ahead and end this book here and create a one-shot book, named One-shots in Mystic Falls to fit with the rest of the series. I think this will be best since I have a few ideas that could fit in this book but would need filler chapters between them that I just can't think of right now. So, if you have any requests, it can be any couple that appeared in this or any character or family dynamic, leave a comment or send me a message and I'll see what I can do. The first one-shot is called transitions and has already been posted.
