-Konohagakure-
The day was neither too fresh nor too hot but more on the pleasantly comfortable side. The soft breeze that continuously blew over the village was barely felt but was still enough to counter the rays of the already particularly weak afternoon sun.
The comfortable atmosphere seemed to rub on most villagers in Konoha as the current general observation of the population on this afternoon could be described as somewhat drowsy or even lazy. Most people exuded a feeling of peaceful relaxation.
And Uzumaki Shinji could tell that much, since he was experiencing the same feeling.
Today Jiji had given him a free day which meant he was free to roam around and do whatever he felt like. But with naruto still at the academy doing whatever the students did in there, it was easier said than done.
For the first part of the day, after walking (or rather running) with
Naruto to the academy and seeing him off, Shinji had headed for the training ground where he usually trains with Hiruzen. As usual, he drew something or anything that passed through his mind to pass time. He would have drawn seals but he had gotten tired of all the seals jiji had shown him until now.
He'd of course requested to be taught new ones, but Hiruzen always did his best to dodge him for some reason he couldn't understand.
After being done with some random drawings, which he noticed he also had some sort of talent in just like seals, that's when jiji finally arrived a bit later than usual. He then informed shinji that the rest of the week was off since he had important things to deal with.
This meant that the next time he'd train with jiji, which would be next week, he would be training along with naruto.
He sighed once more of boredom and drowsiness.
'What's taking him so long? He should be done already by now'
He yawned. 'Okay since he's not done maybe I shou—'
He perked up when he finally felt it, Naruto's chakra.
Over the years, shinji had developed what he'd previously thought was a sixth sense that enabled him to know when Naruto was nearby or not. At first he'd dismissed it, as it wasn't really a bother and was actually quite useful when playing hide and seek with Naruto.
But then, he'd realized that he could easily feel Jiji's chakra when he was around too! Now that had made him pause. He'd asked Naruto if he could feel something similar to which the latter had said no.
He'd then explained it to Naruto who had very wisely suggested to ask Jiji about it, which is what they had done. After analysing the situation for a bit, Jiji had then revealed them that Shinji was well in fact, a Sensor.
It had taken a while for both of them to understand the concept but when the sandaime had listed them some of the obvious advantages of the capacity, they'd both been very excited by it. But when Naruto had asked why he couldn't do the same thing, the sandaime had just told him that it was rare and only a few people where born with the ability.
Getting back on track, Shinji was about to go for a surprise attack since Naruto was not aware that he was already done or rather had a day off from his training, which meant, this would be unexpected.
Jumping up from the spot on the rooftop were he'd been sitting, he carefully hopped on the nearby building that was just above where Naruto was walking.
He grinned as he was about to make the assault on his best friend when he spotted some movement coming from not very far behind said best friend. When he checked, the only thing he saw was a mane of blakish dark blue hair protruding from behind a pole.
He arched an eyebrow at the pathetically obvious attempt at hiding. He did not do anything as he spied the person move behind her hiding spot and jog towards the corner which Naruto had just rounded, confirming that whoever it is, was indeed tailing his friend.
Luckily, the girl actually looked like she was around his age, which most probably meant that she was one of Naruto's classmates.
With a blank look on his face, Shinji very silently dropped down from his spot on the roof before calmly walking towards were she was currently standing.
And she seemed so captivated that she did not even notice him even when he stopped right behind her. Since she had yet to acknowledge his presence, he decided to take a look at what exactly she was looking at.
Bending slightly, he poked out his head from behind her, his eyes pointed at the same direction as her. Since she was obviously looking at Naruto, he decided to check if anything was wrong with Naruto as he also stared in his direction.
And that's when she finally noticed him...
"KYAAAAA!!!" She jumped, startled. And maybe even scared a bit.
"W-w-what are you d-doing?" She stuttered.
He looked at her with the same blank look. "I would ask you the same thing" he said calmly.
"W-what do you m—"
"Am I wrong or you were just spying on that boy just now?" He raised an eyebrow.
Her eyes widened as she blanched. "I-I was-uh-I-I-actually..." She lowered her head and closed her eyes in defeat.
"Yes"
He scowled. Shinji did not like it when people talked bad or even glared at his best friend. And this one here was actually stalking him?
He was about to ask her why, but then he registered the girl's face. This face... He'd seen it somewhere.
This pretty face and those nearly black short dark blue hair. This expression that showed readiness and anticipation at something or another that would surely occur...
His eyes widened.
On the other hand, Hinata, curious about why she still wasn't in trouble yet, slightly raised her head and slowly cracked open an eye. Instead of seeing what she expected to be an angry expression, she was confused to find a surprised one on the boy.
But that's when she finally caught a good glance of his face. His white hair, his astonished expression, his dark blue eyes... Could it really be...
"...Y-you are..." x2
"...The girl from before?"
"...The boy from last time?"
Shinji felt his face heat up as he scratched the back of his head while looking away , "I... I thought I would never see you again..."
"Y-yeah" Hinata, who was looking down at her feet while poking her fingers, also felt something similar as she remembered that day very clearly.
"So... I guess everything went fine then..." He smiled awkwardly not used to such situations.
"Y-yes e-everything went fine but I..." She shifted shyly. "I never got the chance to thank you so..." She looked at him with a small smile.
"T-thank you very much" she bowed.
Shinji who wasn't used to such formal acts, fidgeted around nervously not knowing what to do.
"R-really, it was nothing you know" he chuckled awkwardly to which she blushed slightly.
"So um... Why where you following Naruto anyways?" He asked, finally recalling the main topic. Since it was just her, she couldn't be meaning any harm, right?
"I... I was just..."
"Hey!! What's happening here?"
She was interrupted by an all too familiar energetic voice coming from above.
"Shinji!! What the hell are you doing here!? I was looking for you!!!" Naruto shouted again from the roof top directly above them.
Then he noticed Hinata for real this time, "oh! Isn't this huh..." He closed his eyes as he started searching up his whole memory. "HINATA!! that's right it's Hinata, hi Hinata but what're you doing here!?" He asked as his expression flipped to confused before reverting back to irritation as he snapped back at Shinji.
"SHINJI!!! I'M STARVING!!!!"
"Fine, fine, calm down, let's g—" shinji was about to say but then remembered Hinata.
"Huh, H-Hinata? D-do you wanna come eat with us?" He asked not sure if she was gonna accept.
"Yeah that would be cool!" Naruto added with a smile.
After glancing a few times in Naruto's direction she finally said in a barely audible voice, "s-sure"
"Yeah!!" x2, both Naruto and Shinji rejoiced at being able to eat at three instead of two.
Hinata couldn't help smile too.
"AYAME- CHAN! We got you a new customer!" Naruto shouted with a toothy grin as he happily walked into the best ramen shop in konoha, according to him. And Shinji.
"Huh?" Ayame looked at them as she handed a white bag to another customer who quickly exited the place.
Shinji and Hinata both entered soon after, with the former also sporting a grin while the latter had a really timid and embarrassed look on her face.
"Oh, look what we have here. A new little customer accompanied by these two young troublemakers" she smiled as she leaned on the counter and placed her head on her hands while looking at Hinata. "So what is the name of this young lady?"
"Her name Is—"
"Shut up!" She smacked Naruto on the head earning a pout.
"M-my name is Hi-Hinata" Hinata said as she shuffled awkwardly.
"Hinata... That's a cute name you have there" Ayame smiled, to which Hinata blushed while muttering a tiny 'thank you'.
"So—"
"Okay! we got it! she has a cute name, now bring out the food cause I—AM—STAR—VIIIING!!!!"
"Oh fine, fine, for once that you bring me a female friend of yours, I can't even ask questions!" she huffed to which Naruto stuck his tongue out.
"Anyways so I know what you both are gonna have, so what are you—"
"WAIT!!!!!" Shinji suddenly interrupted which elicited a tick mark to form on Ayame's forehead due to being cut off again.
"Before we start, I'd like to make sure..." He said slowly, "Naruto's paying right?"
"What!!? It's your turn, I payed yesterday!!" Naruto protested.
"Yeah! but I bought both of us ice creams after that!!"
"What!!? That doesn't even count!!"
"Yes it does!!"
"No it doesn't!!"
"Yes it does!!"
"It doesn't!!!"
"It does!!!"
"It doesn't!!!!"
"It does!!!!"
"NO!!!!!"
"YES!!!!!"
"YAAAAAAAAH!!!!"
"YAAAAAAAAH!!!!"
"UGH! OW! OOF! WAH!..."
Ayame slowly and irritatedly shook her head as both idiots went tumbling away while biting each other and wrestling around in a cloud of dust.
"You know what" she said earning Hinata's attention, "I'll give you a free ramen bowl from the house just for having to deal with these two idiots"
Hinata just chuckled at the display. She could very easily feel the amount of friendship and compassion emanating from all three of them as it filled the whole place and couldn't be missed.
It was such a rare feeling that it brought a smile to her face.
"Hey! That's not fair! Why does she—"
~...Growl...~*
Everyone looked at Naruto.
"I'M—HUN—GRYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
-30 minutes later-
"Ahh~ this is so good!"
"Yeah ice scream as desert is the best!! Right Hinata?"
""Y-yes it's delicious"
Naruto, Shinji and Hinata respectively sighed at the great feeling of having some ice cream after eating ramen. This feeling along with the pleasantly peaceful atmosphere of the area was enough to send them into a state of comfortable silence as they all basked in the beautiful view of the village from their spots on the Yondaime Hokage's monument.
It was especially breathtaking for the only female of the group who had never until now been able to enjoy such a beautiful view of the village from this angle. This... This was probably the best way to end a day in her opinion.
'So this is what it feels to be free' she thought as she closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling of wind kissing her face.
Both Naruto and Shinji stopped their conversation when they heard a very content sigh coming from beside Shinji. Looking at Hinata they both weren't really surprised to find a peaceful smile on her face as a gentle breeze brushed her soft and smooth skin, rustling a few strands of hair..
They smiled at it. Her smile was really alluring.
"Enjoying yourself Hinata?" Naruto asked with a grin. Said girl was a bit startled when the attention was switched towards her.
She blushed embarrassingly as she set her gaze on the sunset colored sky, a smile still present on her face.
"...A lot..."
End of chap... is what was planned but I know empty this chapter actually is and that's why, here's an omake to make up a tiny bit for it.

~Challenge~
-Three days later-
Uncomfortably seated in his seat, Naruto wouldn't stop sighing and twisting around in the class. Not that it was an uncommon occurrence since the Uzumaki was always bored as hell in school.
But today is different, today is the day Naruto finally starts his training with the sandaime along with Shinji.
That's why the young Uzumaki is so much in a hurry to be done with all this useless waste of time that was school.
And of course, he isn't paying attention.
"Naruto!! How many times do I have to tell you to be present in class!!" Iruka shouted, from the front.
Naruto who was quite irritated at the moment decided to use shinji's special annoyance technique.
Taking a deep breath, and closing his eyes, he sighed as heavily as possible. "You might have not noticed..."
When he opened his eyes, he gave Iruka his best 'you're wasting my time' look. Still not to Shinji's level though.
Before saying, "but I am, present"
DUN.
A loud ominous symphony of piano tiles resounded from seemingly no where as everyone in the class stared unbelievingly at the blond Uzumaki.
Iruka's eyes widened, 'this posture... this expression... this feeling!'
"Is... Is this a challenge young child!?" His expression was now one of seriousness at the blatant taunting.
Lightning striked as the sound of thunder loudly echoed through the whole school.
As the dark clouds gathered in the sky and the atmosphere darkened ominously, Naruto's azure blue eyes glowed in defiance.
"...Bring it on..."
"NARUTO!!!!!!!! YOU LITTLE STUPID ASS FREAK!!! GET BACK HERE!!!!!"
Currently dashing through the streets of village with half of his classmates hot on his hills, said Naruto screamed as he ran as fast as his feet could carry him.
In the end, due to Naruto's 'challenge', Iruka had dropped a surprise history test on the whole class and had thrown in most questions that involved dates, names and lots of numbers.
All in all, the worst combination.
Of course, naruto had gotten the lowest marks but that did not stop him from being chased by a pack of crazy classmates that hadn't done much better and where currently out for his head.
As he ran, a single thought passed through his head as he smirked.
At least now I know his technique works...
