That's the end of this little story..interesting and fun to write..a few hitches at times, but not terrible..Until next time..Please enjoy..
A few weeks passed since X found Zero again. Zero had a firm word with Bertram. He had begun suspecting Bertram only allowed X in the community just to look open minded to the other vampires. Those suspicions arose when he spied Bertram looking back and sneering at X when they passed by. Bertram didn't seem to have any remorse about it, though it didn't matter to Zero since they were about to move north to the desert.
X helped Zero pack the essentials to their new desert home, including any ripe vegetables and fruits from the garden. Zero had gone to setup their new tent home in the desert when X saw some other werewolves crossing the bridge over the lake. The brunette recognized the two, but was surprised to see several puppies following one of them. The werewolves growled when they saw X coming. X shook his head. "No. Brother, sister. Its me, X." The two bigger werewolves changed to human form, tackle hugging X to the ground. X's sister had long blonde hair and his brother long brown hair, though not as long as X's. X giggled. "Rock! Roll! Its been so long. What brings you here?" Roll sat up. "We thought we'd pay everyone a visit, but there's nobody here..Where's mom and dad? I want them to meet their grandpups." X paused. Before he could answer, a familiar voice did so for him. "Your parents and the other werewolves are no more." Zero had returned and noticed X's scent had gotten further away on his way back. X's brother, Rock, growled. "What's that supposed to mean? You're no werewolf. You're a vampire!" Rock growled more and tried to tackle him, but Zero dodged. Zero shook his head. "Now, now, no need to act so rashly. If you would be so kind, calm down and we will both explain what happened." X nodded, picking up his brother. "Please, brother. He means no harm. He's a good vampire. Just listen to us."
Rock and Roll could hardly believe their ears when X and Zero were done explaining why no other werewolves remained in the area. Rock shook his head. "The packs went berserk." Roll was in tears. "Mom and Dad were the first to go...I can't believe it..and they nearly got our little brother. This is so hard for me to believe..and I also can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm glad this vampire found and nurtured you, X. Maybe vampires aren't so bad after all.." Rock nodded. "I'm a little confused. Why do you call yourself our brother's master? He's his own master." X sighed. "It stuck...and I like viewing him that way. He doesn't let it go to his head." Roll shrugged. "Whatever works, I guess. You better be nice to our brother, mister, or there will be drama!" Zero chuckled. "Oh, I'd expected nothing less."
Ignoring Bertram's protests, X and Zero showed the two werewolves and the puppies to Zero's house. Rock growled at Bertram and snapped his jaws if he got too close before closing the door. Zero showed them around the house. Rock and Roll loved the house, enjoying how roomy Zero had made it. X and Zero's things were set in the tent in the oasis beyond. "This house is now yours, though we will be checking in to pick the fruits and vegetables in the garden as well as on you." Zero told them. Roll came closer and grabbed Zero's shoulders. "I had these puppies with a werewolf whose human form was nowhere near as handsome as your form. Keep X safe and be kind to him. Or else." Zero nodded. "Looks aren't everything, though I will. Your brother is safe and sound in my arms." Rock turned Zero's head towards him. "We're going to hold you to those words." Zero smirked. "You won't be disappointed. I never go back on my word."
When Rock and Roll let Zero go, X quickly snagged Zero's hand and walked him out the door. Zero chuckled once the door was closed behind them. "They're very protective of you. I like that." X giggled. "Overprotective. But it also sounds like you. Is everything ready at our new home?" Zero smirked. "So it does. Everything is ready and waiting." X smiled. "Then, let's go, master. To our new home." When X started forward, Zero stayed put, keeping X's hand tight. X looked back at him puzzled. "What's wrong?" Zero said nothing and scooped X into his arms and spreading his wings. "To a new life of love in the desert." X nodded and sighed contently as Zero took flight into the distance and into the desert.
