Sorry about the longer upload time, this is one of my biggest chapters and it definitely took awhile. Thank you all for your patience and understanding!
The boys locker room was hushed, as everyone changed into their UA jumpsuits. No one knew what was going on, they were supposed to be going to an orientation, not getting into their workout fatigues.
Azuki sat on one of the benches, already changed. Others were nervous, getting changed in front of people you had just met could make you uneasy, but Azuki didn't worry about it. His metal frame, was just that, metal. He didn't have anything to be embarrassed about because of how it looked because there nothing to judge about it, it was just metal plating.
On the other hand, Azuki hadn't polished himself in awhile...
There was small chatter, people introducing themselves to others. Azuki sat on his bench, just far enough away that no one was approaching him but close enough that he didn't look like he was a loner.
"Hey, the names Eijiro Kirishima, what's yours?" The red haired kid announced, his hand extended for a fist pump and a wide grin on his face.
"Azuki Sheishin, pleasure to meet you" Azuki responded, then promptly went to gently fist pump Kirishima. Azuki didn't want to hurt him after all.
Kirishima didn't share the same sentiment, as he fist pumped Azuki just like he would anyone else. There was a loud clang as their fists collided.
Azuki slowly looked down at the Kirishima's fist, expecting it to be a shattered mess. It wasn't, in fact Azuki's fist was the one that looked like it had taken damage, although it was very minor.
"Oops, sorry about that, I didn't mean to bump that hard" Kirishima said, a sheepish grin replacing the one he had before.
"How...how is your fist not destroyed?" Azuki asked, in disbelief of what had happened.
"Oh that's because of my quirk" Kirishima stated. His hand then hardened, becoming jagged and uneven, like a rock.
Azuki's len's widened in surprise. No wonder he didn't hold back, if he can turn his skin to stone, what could hurt him?
"Pretty manly ain't it?" Kirishima asked, more and more of his body becoming rock until he was encrusted all over.
"Um, if that's what you want to call it?" Azuki responded, his head tilted sideways in slight confusion. Yes it was cool, maybe not 'manly', that was an odd way to describe it.
"So what's your quirk?" Kirishima asked, that toothy grin back on his face. Azuki could see a few other heads turn as if wondering the same question.
"Umm, it's hard to explain, I can possess things, make them move how I need them to move. If I'm being honest it's not even that great of a quirk..." Azuki yammered off, getting more and more anxious as he went on. The locker room didn't have much conversation going around, Azuki felt like all eyes were on him. This Kirishima was a nice guy, but he wasn't exactly quiet.
Kirishima waved aside Azuki's response. "Couldn't have been that bad right? You got into UA didn't you?"
"Yeah, all my quirk does is allow me to grow sticky purple balls on my head, yours CAN'T be that bad" stated the small purple headed child, who was standing right behind Azuki, making Azuki jump up in surprise.
"How-how old are you? Why are you so small?" Azuki blurted out. Before he could apologize the small child squinted at him, then walked off murmuring "You'll show them, you'll show them all Mineta".
"What an odd kid" the black haired kid with large elbows stated, scratching his head in confusion at the departing toddler
"I didn't mean to say that, it just came out" Azuki explained, hoping that no one thought he just was a blunt jerk.
Large Elbow's shrugged. "I think we were all thinking that, no one wanted to say anything."
"Anyways, if your quirk allows you to control things, why's your body all metal and stuff?" Kirishima asked, stretching back and forth.
"Oh, that's because-" was all Azuki could say as everyone in the locker room heard the distinct voice of their new homeroom teacher echo throughout the space.
"You all better be done or else I'm coming in there".
Everyone immediately started shuffling out, some faster then others. Iida was in the front, legs marching up and down. The pissed off kid lagged behind, like he couldn't care less about what Eraserhead had to say. Azuki did his best to stay in the pack, not wanting to be to far ahead or behind.
As both locker rooms emptied out into the hallway, Aiwza simply stated "Follow me this way" before walking down the hall towards what seemed to be the outside.
"Maybe Orientation is held outside?" someone whispered, Azuki couldn't tell who.
"I want to go so bad, I heard UA's orientation is spectacular!" someone said loudly, not fitting the hushed atmosphere.
"If we go outside, you will all be able to see me shine brightly!". Azuki knew who that came from, Extravagant Boy. Azuki really didn't know what his deal was when it came to shining but he didn't want to understand either.
Everyone was silent after that, either from the odd comment made by the shining obsessed individual or just at the fact they were approaching the exit.
Azuki realized that he was taller then most people in his class, the only people being on his level being the multi-limbed guy, the dude with the huge lips and the guy who looked like he had a rock for a head. He could see almost everyone from where he was. Tsukareta, Jirou, the purple child and even the messy green haired kid.
Although Azuki didn't look at him for long, just being this close made him uncomfortable. He was in the front somewhat, next to Iida and a girl Azuki hadn't seen before, she was shorter and had short bobbed hair. She must have walked in with the messy haired kid when he didn't notice.
I wish I knew their names so I didn't have to memorize them by their hair Azuki glumly thought. He lagged behind a tad bit, just to be sure he had some room between him and the front.
Aiwza pushed open the doors to what seemed like an open field. White outlines were littered throughout the field. It looks like a throwing marker, like from middle school or something Azuki thought to himself.
Aiwza stopped, making everyone else promptly do the same. Everyone started slowly spreading apart making sure they weren't bunched up so much. Azuki at this point stood in the back, Large Elbow's and Kirishima in front of him.
Tsukareta side shuffled over to Azuki, much to his chagrin. "So you made it too huh?" She asked taking her glasses off to rub her eyes.
"Yeah, Isn't that obvious?" Azuki counter questioned, making Tsukareta's eyebrows furrow in deep thought. He said it with a little more agitation then he wanted, but hopefully Tsukareta would get the point, he didn't want to be distracted.
"Nevermind then, I'll just shuffle back to my spot" She huffed, which then turned into a big yawn.
"What?! A quirk Assessment Test?!" questioned everyone but him and Tsukareta, as she had more or less made it impossible to hear what Aiwza said.
Azuki's head immediately snapped over to Tsukareta, whose head snapped towards him. Azuki's eyes immediately dilated in frustration as Tsukareta gave him a bashful smile before side shuffling away again, covering a yawn that was trying to escape.
"But orientation, we're gonna miss it!" exclaimed the girl with the bobbed hair who was in the front.
A quirk assessment test? Now? Didn't we already do a test to get in? Azuki thought incredulously to himself. While he wasn't crazy about orientation, it was better then doing a test that involved quirks.
"If you really want to make the big leagues, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies." Aiwza stated.
Kirishima scratched his head in confusion and whispered "If it's pointless why is everyone else doing it?".
"Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions, that means I get to run my class however I see fit" continued Aiwza, making Kirishima gulp in the process. Azuki took a step away, hoping to avoid any unwanted attention. Kirishima didn't seem to notice, as all of his attention was on Aiwza.
"You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives, but you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before" Aiwza stated as he pulled out his phone, showing something to the students up front.
"The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal but not letting those with the most power excel, it's not rational. One day the administration of education will learn that".
Azuki winced at that comment, as it hit all to close to home. The seeds of doubt that were planted long ago within Azuki's mind grew just abit, Aiwza's words giving them sustenance.
Azuki looked around at his fellow classmates, wondering how much better of quirks they would have then him, how much more qualified they were to be heroes then him. Azuki shook his head, causing the seeds to stop growing, for now.
Like Kirishima said, you made it into UA. How many people can say that? How many examinees can say the same? Don't doubt yourself so much Azuki thought to himself.
Azuki was shaken out of his mental state as ball was ejected into the sky by an explosion. The ball soared at intense speeds, making snoke rings as it went up and up and up.
"Woah, I guess that's why he had the most points" Tsuyu stated, using a hand to block the sunlight as she tried following where the ball went.
The class turned into a small buzz as students started talking about the throw and the prospect of using their quirks full potential.
Azuki turned to his right and being somewhat embarrassed asked "The most points for what? I zoned out for a second".
"On the trial to gain admittance to the school" The Red eyed Raven revealed, his voice coming from Azuki's right, from behind Large Elbows.
Azuki turned even farther right to see his fellow classmate. "You mean the entrance exam?" Azuki questioned, wanting to make sure they were on the same page. The exam could technically be described as a 'trial' but that was somewhat of an over exaggeration.
The Raven simply nodded, his arms crossed. As Azuki turned back to the face the front, he came to a realization. The Raven, for all of his brooding nature and whatnot, was short, shorter then most of the people here.
Other then the Purple Ball-headed Baby, he was still the shortest one by far...
It was then that Azuki realized that he should really start learning these peoples names instead of making these long nicknames for everyone.
At that thought, Azuki turned back around to the Raven and extended his hand out. "Hi, the names Azuki Sheishin, what's yours"?
The Raven extended his hand forward, gingerly shaking Azuki's. "My name is Fumikage Tokoyami" he stated before his eyes widened in shock and his hand whipped back to his side.
"H-huh, I'-m not gonna bite or anything, I don't got a mouth see?" Azuki said humiliated and pointing to his face.
The moment Tokoyami's eyes went wide with shock, Azuki went into a nervous breakdown.
Look what you did, your already making people uneasy, way to go Azuki. I mean what was that line, 'I'm not gonna bite or anything, I don't a got a mouth, see?' Who in the world says stuff like that? It's obvious you don't have a mouth, there's no point of stating it, his inner voice berated him.
Azuki however soon realized that it wasn't him that got Tokoyami all wide eyed.
"Like I said before, if your here to make friends, you can already consider yourself gone. Interrupt my class again and that'll be the end of it" the dry voice of his new teacher announced from behind Azuki.
Azuki whipped around and wordlessly started bowing up and down again, mortified at the scene he had caused. Large elbows and Kirishima was far away from him, wanting to be out of Aiwza's radius.
"Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential, whoever comes in last has none and will be expelled immediately" Aiwza declared, making everyone's jaws drop.
Physical tests? That's what will decide whether or not we will get immediately expelled? I'm surprised it's not something more intense Azuki thought.
I can place higher then last right? Right? It can't be that hard can it?
"Like I said, I get to decide how this class is run, understand?" Aiwza questioned, lifting his long hair to see his new students, challenging one of them to speak up.
No one did, from what Azuki could see, everyone had determination all over their face. Everyone was prepared to do their best, just like always.
"You can't send one of us home! We just got here, even if it wasn't the first day, that isn't fair!" The girl with the bob cut argued.
Azuki winced and took a step back, even though he was well out of Aiwza's radius. While he thought it was excessive, Azuki knew it wasn't to crazy. Considering that Aiwza held all the power in his class, he could expel more then one person, it could be half the class, or the whole class. As long as Azuki wasn't the one expelled, he was willing to except someone having to leave.
Azuki crossed his metallic fingers, hoping that the green haired boy would be the one to go. Azuki didn't want in his class, not only because of the incident in the training routine but just because of his raw strength. How would anyone compete against that?
"Oh, and you think natural disasters are? Or power hungry villains hm? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities? No, the world is full of unfairness. It's a hero's job to try an combat that unfairness" Aiwza explained.
Aiwza's words stung Azuki. Of course the world was full of unfairness, Azuki knew that better then most. That was exactly why he was here, to combat the unfairness that had happened in his life and the unfairness that led to the end of Gu's life. Unfairness is what drove Azuki, because he had the desire to correct it.
"Now then, we are just wasting time by talking, let the games begin" Aiwza finished. Azuki wasn't paying attention to what he was saying before, but whatever it was it had everyone warming up and raring to go.
The next few hours were a fuzzy haze as Azuki had to do everything possible to make sure he wasn't kicked out, he had to make sure, he had already come to far.
The first test was a fifty meter dash. Everyone lined up in two lines, ready to compete. Iida and Tsuyu were the first to go.
Azuki looked over to the right at the person he'd be dashing against, which to his surprise was the small purple headed baby. Azuki instantly looked ahead, not wanting to cause anymore problems then he already had.
"Runners on your mark, ready?" The evaluation bot chimed, which then sent Iida and Asui dashing. Iida blew past the bot in a couple of seconds while Asui's long hops made her complete the test In almost double Iida's time.
The line moved forward, the boy with the tail and the girl with the bob cut up next. Azuki took this time to introduce himself to his tiny acquaintance.
"Hey, sorry about what I said back in the locker room, I was just surprised that's all. My names Azuki Sheishin, what's yours?"
"The names Minoru Mineta, make sure you remember that as I speed past you" Mineta boldly stated with a lisp.
"Ah, ok then" Azuki simply replied. Does Mineta really think he can out speed me? Does his quirk make him faster in some way?
"Come on idiots! Move up already" said a voice filled with anger, coming from behind Azuki. Azuki didn't waste anytime as he rushed up front to get into position, while Mineta did the same.
While he waited for the bot to give them the go ahead, he turned behind him to see who at yelled at him. To no surprise at all, the spiky haired blonde kid was standing there, a grimace on his face.
That guy really has something wrong with him.
"Runners on your mark, ready?"
Azuki immediately snapped back to attention before promptly boosting off the heel pads. With being unable to feel no fatigue or tiredness, he was able ran at a full sprint with nothing holding him back.
"Six point one seconds"
"Eight point two seconds"
Azuki turned around to see Mineta panting heavily, the run obviously taking a huge toll on him and his tiny legs.
Azuki walked into the growing crowd of classmates that had already completed the dash and were watching the next students.
Azuki's eyes dilated as he saw the green haired boy line up, along with the pissed off kid.
Oh wow, the angry kid is going to get his socks blown off, few here have seen the power this kid has, he'll blow by everyone probably breaking a record or something.
"Runners on your marks, ready?"
Before Azuki knew it, it was over. The pissed off kid literally blew past his opponent, using what looked like explosions coming from the palms of his hands to do so.
The green haired kid didn't use his power at all, running just like someone normal would.
Huh, that's not what I was expecting to happen Azuki thought to himself, his eyes growing large in surprise.
The next test was a grip strength, it was over fairly quick. Aiwza gave everyone a grip tester, in which they would squeeze to get their scores.
Azuki was given his, to which he promptly clasped the handle and squeezed, the grip tester beeped, showing Azuki's score of two hundred and sixty kilograms.
Hey, that's pretty good Azuki thought to himself.
"Wow, you hit five hundred forty kilograms? Your such a beast!" Exclaimed Large elbows, who was talking to the multi limbed dude.
Oh...Never mind.
Once everyone was done with that, they were rushed to the sandbox, where they had to jump across it. The farther you got the better the score.
People like the pissed off kid and Asui had no problem leaping over, in fact they made it look easy.
When Azuki tried, he hardly made to the middle, due to his weighty body. He immediately jumped up and dusted himself off, hoping no one saw that embarrassing jump.
After that there was the side steps, in which everyone had to jump from side to side as fast as possible. No one in particular was that skilled in this challenge, other then Mineta who took off parts of his hair and stuck them to the sides of the jumping space. Everyone was as confused as Azuki was until Mineta started bouncing off his hair clods, making him be able to achieve record numbers.
Azuki couldn't help but feel like Minetas smile was directed towards him.
Like with the long jump, Azuki didn't do well in this test at all. His unwieldy heavy body made it hard to make precise jumps, especially ones that had to be within the jump space.
The next was the ball throw that was demonstrated in the beginning of class. They had to stand within the circle and take turns tossing the ball as far as possible, which made Azuki uneasy.
He didn't have a quirk that could help in anyway with this one and he needed to get some good scores before it was too late, his jumping tests were going to bring his score down.
Classmate after classmate threw the ball, trying to get it as far as possible. The tail kid used his tail to swat the ball, sending the ball flying. The multi limbed kid used all three of his hands to launch the sphere and Asui used her tongue like a sling to send it soaring.
All these quirks are so good, how will I be able to compete? Azuki questioned, doubting himself more and more as the tests went on.
"Azuki Sheishin, your next" Aiwza announced, making Azuki squeak in nervousness. Aiwza tossed him the ball as Azuki approached the circle. From the nervousness and the stress, Azuki almost dropped the ball, it bouncing up and down in his hands.
Aiwza simply stared at him, waiting for Azuki to throw the ball.
This didn't help Azuki whatsoever.
Azuki planted his feet, and clenched the ball within his hands. "You can do this Azuki, just throw it as hard as possible" he whispered to himself.
He wound himself up, trying to get the maximum force possible. He then threw, watching as the ball arced in the air, before promptly falling down, just outside of the measuring rings.
"Ninety meters!" The measuring bot chirped out.
Azuki arms went limp with disappointment, he needed a better score then that, what was he to do now.
"Nice try, next" was all Aiwza said as the girl with the bob cut walked up and into the circle. Azuki hardly noticed as he slinked into the crowd, standing over by himself.
Nice going Azuki, now what're you going to do? There's only three tests and you don't have much time left to get your scores up, you could be the one going home if you don't shape up.
There was loud audible yawn to his side, in which he slowly turned, knowing full well who it was.
"How is it going Metal Man?" Tsukareta asked, looking even more exhausted then usual.
"Good, good I think, how are things going for you? I haven't actually seen you do any of the tests so far" replied Azuki.
She groggily nodded her head and kept doing it enough that Azuki had thought she had fallen asleep while standing up. She then shook her head violently, making her come to attention.
"I'm none too happy with my results, I just simply don't have the energy for this" she sighed rubbing her eyes.
"Oh, whys that? Do you not sleep at all?" Azuki questioned, wanting to know why she was like this all the time.
"Oh I sleep alright, just not a lot, definitely not enough to be doing physical exams all day. I wanted to sit and listen to the orientation" she groaned.
"Infinity?!" Everyone else yelled as the girl with the bob cut came back to the crowd triumphantly.
"Before you ask, no, I do not distract you on purpose, I just like having someone to talk to. I'll be out of your hair now" Tsukareta said, drowsily walking away, leaving Azuki alone.
"I don't have hair" Azuki mumbled, absentmindedly rubbing the top of his head.
That girl was a conundrum, she always seemed to gravitate towards him at the worst times. He didn't mind talking to her, but she never stuck around for long.
Which speaking of that, she mentioned something about talking to people? What'd she say again before she had to bring up the fact he had no hair? Come on Azuki think...
"Someone like your should never be allowed to enroll in this school" Aiwza announced, sending Azuki into a full panic before he realized he wasn't the one being talked to, but the green haired boy, who had a look of utter crushing disbelief on his face.
Someone like him shouldn't be allowed to come to this school? Is his power that great? Azuki wondered in amazement.
"Your goggles, I know you, you can look at people and cancel out their powers. The eraser hero, Eraserhead!" The green haired boy exclaimed.
Everyone immediately started chatting amongst themselves, asking others who Eraserhead was, as others commented on Eraserhead's scarf that seemed to be floating all around him.
The two seemed to continue talking, although Azuki couldn't hear what they were saying from here. What he did see however was the scarf around Aiwza's neck tangle the green haired boy and drag him in closer, like a snake attacking a rodent.
"What do you know of the one called Midoriya?" Tokoyami asked as he approached Azuki, which in turn made Azuki's attention snap towards Tokoyami.
"Uhh, who?" Azuki questioned, still trying to see what was going on between the green haired boy and the teacher. What was going on? Why was Aiwza was so critical about that boy's quirk, was Aiwza scared of its potential maybe? He almost started stepping forwards to get a better listen before Tokoyami stepped in front of him.
While Azuki could easily see over his head, he decided that Tokoyami didn't seem like the type of person Azuki wanted to be mad at him.
"Midoriya, the one that Eraserhead has in his clutches. I was heard that you were in the same exam site as him, did he truly destroy a zero pointer with a single blow?"
Azuki slowly looked down at him, the memories of the pain Azuki had endured bubbling to the surface. The image of Midoriya flying through the dust and rubble to belittle him with a single punch.
"Uhh, yeah I was, I didn't see what happened though, only heard about it, that's all" Azuki answered, wanting to move on from this discussion.
"Hmm, do you find it odd that he hasn't used his quirk whatsoever? Even though it is said to have boasted so much power?" Tokoyami questioned, now turning around to watch Midoriya's throw as well.
Aiwza had released him, allowing Midoriya to continue in the test. Midoriya stood there, as if thinking about something before clenching the ball within in his hand and winding up.
"I guess I didn't think about it but that is weird, I haven't thought about it but now that I do, he hasn't used his quirk whatsoev-" Azuki said before Midoriya's ball blasted off and went soaring through the air, sailing higher and ever higher. It was like the explosives kid throw, just pure raw power channeled purely to make the ball fly among the clouds.
Tokoyami was speechless, but having seen this power before, Azuki wasn't quite as blown away. The amount of power he had used in the entrance exam was far greater then this. Did this Midoriya think he could pass with only using a fraction of his power? Was he that powerful and self confident?
"He threw it seven hundred meters!" A voice cried out from the crowd. Azuki shook his head in disbelief, Midoriya could've thrown it much farther if he was trying, which he obviously wasn't.
Before anyone could move to take Midoriya's place, the explosive kid charged at Midoriya screaming "HEY! Deku you bastard, tell me how you did that or your dead!"
Aiwza's scarf immediately wrapped around the attackers face, causing him to stop in his tracks. "It'd be wise to make me avoid using my quirk so much, it gives me a serious dry eye" Aiwza stated, still holding back the explosive kid.
"Too bad, that power is amazing" almost everyone said, in awe of their teachers quirk.
With a quirk like that, who could stop you? You could just negate any quirk that your opponent has and destroy them, especially if you have that scarf.
Eraserhead retracted his scarf, which made his hair drop back to his shoulders. "Your wasting my time now. Whoever's next can step up".
Azuki didn't even notice who was up next, he just couldn't stop thinking about Midoriya. Why was he only using so little of his power? He could be dominating the tests and yet he chooses not to, why?
After the ball throwing, it was sit ups next. People were to start pairing up, one person would do their reps, will the other would hold their feet and count. Everyone bustled inside to one of the nearby workout rooms to start.
Everyone started pairing up with the the people they had known the longest during these few hours. Which Azuki was no exception too. He instantly tried pairing up with Kirishima or Tokoyami, but they had already found partners. Azuki thought about Jiro, as she looked like she didn't have a partner yet and he went to middle school with her, what's the worst that could happen?
Azuki took a step towards her and a thousand possibilities of what could go wrong seemed to spontaneously play in his mind, all of them ending in disaster. He did a one eighty, hoping to find someone that he wouldn't make an absolute fool of himself in front of.
Azuki almost ran over Tsukareta he turned around, she however didn't seemed fazed whatsoever.
"Wanna partner up?" She groggily asked.
"Yes!" Azuki blurted out, the nervousness and stress of being stuck with someone like the explosive kid or Mineta making him jump to conclusions. He didn't feel regret exactly, but he wished he could've found someone else.
Tsukareta gave a small smile and nodded. "Well I'll start then".
She got into one of the open spots and crouched down, before falling backwards and straight onto her back. She didn't even say ow or anything.
Azuki crouched down to make sure she was doing the sit-ups correctly.
"Are you ready to count?"
"I'm ready to start when you are".
Tsukareta started going at a good pace then she eventually slowed down, before seeming to fall asleep.
"Hey, are you asleep? You can't sleep now, you have push ups to do" Azuki insisted, shaking Tsukareta awake.
"N-no I'm not asleep, just...resting my...eyes, that's all" Tsukareta murmured, obviously trying to fall back asleep.
"If your gonna sleep, just let me get started on mine ok?" Azuki remarked.
She nodded before getting up, rather clumsily and holding down Azuki's feet.
Azuki started doing sit ups at a rapid pace, wanting to get in as many as possible before this test ended.
This was one of the tests Azuki knew he could get a good score on, he didn't know what exhaustion or fatigue felt like, this metal body of his had none of that, which would allow him to excel and hopefully get a score good enough be put him up a few ranks.
Tsukareta wasn't even paying attention and if it wasn't for Azuki's sudden movements, she'd probably be fast asleep.
Azuki kept going up and down, passing ten, then twenty, then thirty and going ever higher. More and more people stopped, their physical limits being reached.
As more and more pairs got up, more people seemed to notice Azuki's unwavering determination, he crested eighty push-ups and kept going.
The only people that were doing sit ups along with Azuki at this point were the Multi Limbed dude, and the guy with the huge lips. They were both in very good shape, but everyone had their breaking points and they were at theirs.
"Dang! Talk about manly! How are you going so hard still?" Kirishima exclaimed
"I don't feel" Azuki simply said in between reps. Eventually both of his competitors dropped out after a considerable amounts of reps, both being drenched in sweat.
It was at this point people gathered around him, seeing how high he could go. Kirishima especially was ecstatic, as Azuki reached two hundred.
"Alright that's enough, everyones been done for awhile now Shieshin. You'll be awarded the top score. Now let's move onto the next test." Aiwza stated, before moving over to the seat row touches
Azuki got up, which made his body groan and creak, as it had been used extensively.
"Huhhh, is it done already" Tsukareta mumbled.
"Yeah, you should probably get up before Mr. Aiwza sees you" Azuki whispered, which made Tsukareta shoot straight up, her eyes no longer groggy but instead filled with fear.
"Nice job Dude, how'd you do so many sit ups? That was crazy!" Kirishima exclaimed, smacking Azuki on the back, which sent him careening forward.
"Uhh, like I said, I don't feel much, so exhaustion and fatigue don't affect me" Azuki replied, feeling his back to make sure Kirishima didn't leave a dent in his chassis.
"Once we aren't in the middle of a test you'll have to explain your quirk to me, it sounds so cool" Kirishima said, walking away from Azuki to go to a seat for toe touching station.
"Yeah, I'll do that" Azuki mumbled, surprised at the fact that someone had expressed that they wanted to see him again. He had never made friends on his own.
The seated toe touch was perhaps the one test that didn't need to be done in Azuki's eyes. Why did Aiwza find it pertinent on how well you could touch your toes? Did that really need to be a factor in determining whether or not you would be expelled from UA?
It also didn't help that Azuki's chassis was very limited when it came bending the over, resulting in him getting a low score...
The last and final test was a long distance run, in which Azuki excelled at. They had to do a run around the school, after having done all of their other tests. Azuki had no problem with this but his classmates were, less then thrilled.
"All right everybody, Go!" The robot tester chimed. Everyone started the run, some faster then others. Iida sped off ahead of everyone, hoping to get done before anyone else. The girl named Mina Ashido used her acid to skate across, putting her strides ahead of everyone else.
Anyone that had a quirk that helped with mobility was using it. Although Azuki didn't have a quirk that helped him be faster, he did have one that allowed him to be consistent, making him finish faster then most of his classmates.
It was then, after that last test, Azuki and his classmates stood before Aiwza, who had all of their scores, they would now see who would no longer be attending UA.
"Alright, time to give you your results, I've ranked you all from best to worst, you should probably have a good idea of your standing already. I'll just pull up the whole list, it's not worth going over each individual score"
Azuki was confident in his score, he knew there no chance he would be the one to be expelled. While he didn't do great in all of the tests, he aced the sit-ups and did great on the long distance run.
What made him even more confident was the fact that some of his classmates had quirks that...weren't exactly helpful for these sorts of things. The first person that came to mind was Jiro.
Her quirk was exceptional, it allowed her to be able to listen to not only music, but vibrations and sounds around her, making it excellent for recon. However, this helped in little to none of the tests they had done.
Out of everyone Azuki wanted Jiro gone the least. She reminded him of his school before and the safety that came with it. When he wasn't threatened to get kicked out if he didn't perform well enough in yet another test. Not only that but she was someone he knew from before this.
It also didn't help that there were classmates like Bakugo, the explosion kid who had a terrible demeanor, or Midoriya, who seemed to think he was good enough that he didn't even need to use his quirk other then for one test.
The scoreboard projected into place, showing everyones scores.
Everyone was silent as they frantically searched the scoreboard for their name, hoping that where ever it was, it wasn't at the bottom.
Azuki's confidence and determination payed off, he was number nine on the list. He immediately went down to the number twenty two spot, hoping that it wasn't someone he liked.
Number twenty two: Hane Tsukareta.
Azuki whipped around scanning the crowd to find Tsukareta.
There she was, behind him, hand over her mouth, her eyes glued to her name on the list. Those same eyes were tearing up.
Azuki took an involuntary step towards her, to try and comfort her before she had to leave. However, when Azuki took his first step Aiwza announced "And I was lying, no ones going home, that was just a rational deception to make sure you gave it your all on the tests" a smug grin on his face.
Azuki whipped back around, eyes dilated to fine points, outraged that a teacher at UA of all places would do such a thing.
Calm down Azuki, think rationally. This is the best school around, they are gonna have to pull stuff like this, get used to it so it won't happen again he thought to himself.
He glanced back at Tsukareta who had a dumbfounded look on her face, like she was beyond relieved. She took off her glasses to wipe her eyes free of the tears that were almost out.
"That was pretty nerve wracking huh?" Hanta Sero asked, also relieved he wasn't at the bottom, although he was close. Azuki had figured out that Sero's large elbows were like tape dispenser's allowing him to eject tape from his elbows.
"Nah I'm always up for a challenge" Kirishima responded, fists clenched in triumph. Kirishima had done pretty good overall, scoring the spot higher then Azuki at number nine.
"There's nothing wrong with a challenge, I just like to know what exactly is going" Azuki said to both of them.
"Either way, it's always a thrill!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"That's it, we're done for the day, pickup a syllabus and read it over before tomorrow morning" Aiwza announced. With that, Aiwza left, handing out a note to Midoriya on his way out.
Hmmm, wonder what that note is for.
Everyone started to slowly migrate into the locker rooms to get changed, getting back into their school uniforms.
Azuki didn't speak much as he slowly got changed. He left before anyone else really, everyone was still talking about the exam and whatnot.
"Hey Shieshin! Where you going?" Kirishima shouted after him.
"Oh, I have something I need to attend to before it gets late" Azuki simply replied.
The truth of it was Azuki wanted to talk to Mazi about his day and what had happened. It had been far to long since that had actually talked and hung out. Also Azuki was somewhat overloaded in social interactions. He liked most of his classmates so far, but he only had so much social juice before he was dried out.
"Ok then, see ya tomorrow" Kirishima said waving goodbye with that toothy smile on his face.
The halls were mostly empty as Azuki went into his new classroom and grabbed a syllabus. He simply grabbed one and put it in his bag, planning to read it once he got home.
Azuki walked out the front doors, still in slight disbelief that he was really here, that he was truly enrolled in the school of his dreams.
"Hey Chrome Dome, where do you think your going?" A familiar monotone voice asked.
Azuki whipped around to see Mazi leaning against one the statues Azuki had passed, he didn't even notice him standing there.
Azuki put his hand behind his head in embarrassment "Oh hey Mazi, didn't see you there, you out of-" Azuki stopped cold, taking in what Mazi was wearing.
The same grey overcoat, the white undershirt and the red tie.
The UA school uniform.
"Whe-whe-where'd you get that Mazi?" Azuki incredulously asked, already knowing the answer.
"Oh this?" Mazi smugly said, looking down at his uniform "Don't you know? They give this to everyone enrolled at UA"
"So-so-so, you-your enrolled here?" Azuki weakly asked, not believing what he was hearing.
"Yeah, I'm in the buisness-ack!" was the sound Mazi made as Azuki ran up and squeezed the life out of him, jumping up and down in a state of euphoria.
"Put-me-down-Rust Bucket" Mazi gasped In between breaths.
Azuki didn't put Mazi down, he just stopped jumping up and down and started laughing in pure joy. It was too good to be true.
This school really is going to be Plus Ultra!
