The sun rose and the Parisian streets were filled with life. People were preparing to set up their shops around the area. Bread at the boulangerie was being baked, the mines set their performance in action and the street performers were preparing their accordions and other instruments. One man was beginning to set up his newsstand. He looked at the newspapers that have arrived for him to sell, he looked at one of them and had a smile on his face.
"Finally." The newsstand owner said as he set the paper onto on of the slots, "After a whole month after all that faff. He's finally gone."
"Sly Cooper Reported Dead", The newspaper said in bold. It has been a month since the whole time travel event was over, worldwide known thief, Sly Cooper was missing after a particular event regarding a Time Vortex sending him to not only where, but when. Interpol Headquarters was happy to hear that the number one criminal they were after be gone, but one person felt guilty over the whole thing.
Her name was Inspector Carmelita Montoya Fox, she was Sly' Partner Girlfriend during the time he faked amnesia; She was the daughter to former Interpol Inspector, Charles Montgomery Fox Sr and Officer Montoya Carlota Fox and was their 2nd child. While everyone knows about her Latina tendencies, she's actually from German decent. Her ancestory go all the way back to the 18th Centary with her Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandfather, Adolf Madiximoff Faux in Bavaria, Germany. Her family line soon went to the US when her Great-Great-Grandfather, Maxwell Heimlich Fox III moved to New York City in 1867.
Carmelita spent her childhood in the peaceful city of Montpelier, Vermont with her older brother, Charles Jr and her Twin Sister, Demi. They lived a wonderful life but then bad things happened later on. When The young Fox and her Twin were 4, three crooks broke into her house and killed not only their parents but also their brother with police reports stating they only found Charles Jr's left arm.
The Twins were orphaned and spent the rest of their lives under the care of a retired officer that was a good friend to Charles Sr. Carmelita grew up wanting to continue her parent's legacy and thus went on to become the person who she is today. Demi on the other hand, she just lived a normal life and went on to become a hairdresser and with enough money that was also left over from her parents, she would later buy her parent's house.
Carmelita was stressed with the large amount of work that she had to catch up with, but now with her boyfriend reported dead, she had no other choice but to resign. Days passed and it was time for the goodbyes; All the Interpol officer all said that they were going to miss Inspector Fox and gave her a few going away gifts. After the farewell party, Carmelita went to her apartment, looked at the picture of Sly kissing her on the cheek with the Eiffel Tower in the background and began to cry.
"God." She said, "I've been in Inspector at Interpol for 12 years. Now here I am; I resigned from it because of Sly now being reported dead. Everyone I've been close to has died. Mom, Dad, Charles, now Sly. What am I supposed to do now?"
Then she finally made her final decision that she should move back to Montpelier and to live with her sister. She packed up her suitcases and picked up her phone. She dialled the first number on her contacts and then just seconds later, someone picked up.
"Hello" said the voice from the phone.
"Demi, it's me." Carmelita spoke in a sad tone.
"Sis, what are you calling for?" Demi said in a surprise shock.
Carmelita answered, "I've decided to start a new life. I got so stressed with all my catch-up work, that I resigned."
"Where are you planning to go to?" Demi questioned.
Her sister answered, "I'm moving back to Vermont. You got an extra room for me to stay in."
Demi was enthralled to hear the news. "Of course, there is room in the house for you to stay in. I'm so happy that you, my own Twin Sister, is moving back!"
The two continued to talk about their life since after the last time they met, like Carmelita becoming famous to the world and Demi finally getting into a full-blown relationship.
"OK then, bye" Carmelita hung up. She looked back at her old apartment for one last time, left her keys at the lobby and walked out the doors and headed for her new life in Vermont.
