A new story set in Night City featuring a reimagining of Nordic development from the one portrayed in game and in the trpg. 11 years after the events of Cyberpunk 2077 a new corporation is debuting in Night City, SocCorp Midgard. The entrance of a new predator to the jungle is bound to create chaos but who will live and who will thrive?

Our Proud History

2006 –

A merger between BOFORS inc., IDUN Medical Technologies, and the remnants of the second reincarnation of the reincorporated SAAB Aero & Automotive Technologies creates the Midgard Corporation the largest corporate entity in Scandinavia. Joakim von Östenstjerne is elected as the CEO and head of the board of directors. The appointed CFO Yuji Hito former CFIO for the Arasaka corporation is installed after a successful executive transferal program.

2007 –

Midgard under the forward-thinking guardianship of its CEO proceeds to engage in the largest rounds of buyouts and mergers in Scandinavian history securing a net majority position in the then Norwegian, Sweden and Danish states. Midgard signs contracts with SovOil to provide point-to-point armour mitigation solutions.

2009 –

A proud participant in the European-Soviet settlement om Mars Midgard provides the mission with rocket guidance technology, Zero-G mitigation muscle tissue grafting technology and precision targeting modules for the Mars Self-Defence Team. Thus, ensuring the future success of the Ares, Jacasta, and LIBOS missions in collaboration with its other European partners. Midgard Medica secures the trademarks for PlasMuscle, FeroDentalis, The MRT range of anti-psychotics and meditative inducers as well as the Ch-IRON Neural Interface Module, all of which remain core medical patents until today. The Midgard Executive Transfer Agency is formalised after evaluation of the earlier executive transferal program and begins its valuable work in ensuring that Midgard is supplied with the right competencies at the right time, the Director Frank Hammar is chosen internally. SovOil issues Midgard license and right to produce CHOOH2 for the Nordic Economic Zone.

2011 –

The European-Soviet Mars investment continues to grow and Midgard continuous its investment in the project by providing an extended range of close-quarter arms solutions from the ULV range of pacification weaponry as well as genetic cores for food and vaccine production. The Ch-Boron mk.1 NIM "Ad Astra" becomes available to the public thereby setting the gold standard in user flexibility and safety.

2012 –

Midgard Nano is formed by merger of assets from Midgard Medica, Technica and TeleCom to be the new development hub for Midgard's future lines of military and commercial nano-tech. Midgard welcomes Joshua Thornton previously of Lazarus Corp. to the fold. Mr. Thornton recruited via the Executive Transfer Agency is tapped to head up Midgard's project Einherjar which eventually will see the creation of today's External State Security Force whose operations on the European continent has ensured peace and prosperity for billions across Europe. Midgard welcomes hundreds of refugees from Chicago, victims from the plague attack of the same year, these people are after proper screening given homes and work within Midgard Technica.

2013 –

Midgard TeleCom establishes the Net Security Initiative to manage the internal net security of the Nordic Economic Zone. An accord is struck with the newly formed Netwatch to ensure global net safety standards while maintaining Nordic net independence. Helena Beacher future winner of the 2037 Nobel Prize for physics joins Midgard Nano after transfer from Siers-Delich Medizin and starts work on project HS57-V which will in time become the VERA chemical delivery system revolutionising cancer treatment and prevention.

2014 –

Joakim von Östenstjerne and the Midgard board of directors decide with the valuable assistance of Midgard Intelligence to construct Fortress South to lock down the Danish-German boarder and secure Denmark in case of German aggression. The speedy construction of Fortress South is a testament to the unity felt between the brethren nations of Sweden, Denmark, and Norway as they pull together, for a threat to one is a threat to all. The Ch-Boron mk.2 NIM "Ad Astra" is released and is deemed an essential medical implant by the joint Nordic governments.

2015 –

German aggression initiates the "Yen War" which seeks to prevent legitimate international business from conducting trades within the European Economic Zone. Midgard in a joint statement with the Nordic governments condemn German unlawful property seizure which includes the partial destruction of the Midgard Berlin facility leading to the loss of several of Midgard´s economic interests as well as the lives of 450 of our corporate family now forever memorialized in the Midgard Berlin Memorial Food Court.

2016 –

Reacting to the volumes of misinformation spread via news media in the wake of the "Yen War" and the now looming "Second Corporate War" the Nordic countries join with Midgard in finding a solution to ensure that the Nordic people are given the right and true information. The solution, Midgard Media Services becomes the by law only provider of TV, Radio, Holo, Net news and media. Midgard TeleCom begins the process of tearing down the old and unsecure telecom infrastructure replacing it with secure lines routed through Midgard provided government hubs. Einherjar special operations units are deployed with local police and military units to destroy all black net hubs present within the Nordic Economic Zone. Midgard introduces the "Idun"," Tyr"," Frigg", and "Njord" Bioware lines as well as the The Ch-Boron mk.3 NIM "Ad Infinitum". Helene Bosh, Jürgen Litz, Gertrud Frank, and Aszi Hammal join Midgard Financial after executive transfer from the remnants of German corporate infrastructure.

2018 –

As the "Brush War" starts to rage on the European continent Finish-Estonian state sponsored terrorists join with internal terrorist cells to conduct the "Lucia Bombings" killing 100.000 innocent Swedish citizens. In what will in future be called "The Unification War" the brethren nations unite again. Troops supported with the "Tyr" and experimental "Thor" line of Bioware and Cyberware enhancements armed with "Fenrir" line weapon systems and supported by Einherjar Special Reconnaissance and Intelligence Units enter and secure Finland and Estonia helping the legitimate representatives of these peace seeking people establish themselves in a new Nordic supervised government. Midgard is chosen as the natural steward for Finnish and Estonian economic assets. All Finish and Estonian corporate entities and are folded into Midgard to ensure the future growth of Scandinavia. Finland and Estonia are designated as members of the Extended Nordic Economic Zone by vote in Finish and Estonian parliaments.

2019 –

Following the success of the "Tyr" line of bioware and "Fenrir" line of weaponry in the "Unification War" these lines are given full certification and sales are approved to countries and corporate entities judged by the Nordic Security Council to be in line with Nordic interests. Iceland becomes the first independent nation to achieve this status and Iceland and ICECorp sign agreements with Midgard to outfit their troops with "Tyr", "Fenrir", and the new Cx-Steel mk.1 NIM. The Ch-Steel mk.1 NIM becomes available for consumer purchase and the Cm-Steel mk.1 NIM is integrated into Nordic military forces.

2020 –

Midgard Aqua welcomes Inger Kreisler former Chief Technology Officer and Freidrich Steiner former Chief Financial Investment Officer for "Internationale Handelsmarine Aktiengesellschaft" their combined experience is a valuable resource for the expansion of the strategic trade navy of Midgard Aqua and is seen by many historians as the foundation for the modern domination of Midgard Aqua in the European sector.

2022 –

Midgard celebrates with its collaborators as Isidis Base is established on Mars and a colonial government is officially formed. DataKrash is estimated to have infected 78,2% of the world NET but thanks to the reforms of the Nordic Net structure, provided by Midgard TeleCom, 65,7% of the Nordic Internal Net remains uninfected.

2023 –

As international trade brakes down remaining international economic assets in the Nordic Economic Zone are nationalised and then sold Midgard to ensure private ownership while consolidating all economic assets available. Iceland votes to join the Extended Nordic Economic Zone and ICECorp is absorbed by Midgard.

2024 –

The Midgard Executive Transfer Agency is folded into the Einherjar Strategic Division to form the Einherjar Strategic Asset Acquisition Agency which expands Midgard´s capabilities for recruiting top level talent. Director Frank Hammar is succeded by Director Gorm Svärd. The population of Iceland is relocated to Norway and Greenland as Iceland is absorbed into project "Muspelheim". Midgard Nano introduces the "Darwin Nanite" a self-learning nanite swarm that enables a onetime solution to electronic repairs.

2026 –

As the world struggles to recover after the crash of the worldwide net Midgard Technica and Midgard TeleCom provide corporations with VPN solutions to help speed recovery and. These RABID resistant server input blockers prove successful and help the world on the march towards the eventual launch of CityNets in the 2030s.

2030 –

The ODIN Central Command Server starts construction at Midgard HQ. The Hugin satellite system is launched and the Munin Net Enforcement Algorithm is launched in the Nordic Internal Net. The Joint Nordic Socialists Parties signs contracts with Einherjar Special Operations to ensure their safety from internal terrorist elements. Einherjar troops deploy to cities with socialist majorities and help ensure safety and prosperity. Midgard Agria debuts the "VeggiBooster" which will triple the Nordic agricultural yield within 3 years, and which when paired with a Midgard Technica "Taste Augmentation System" provides future food security with minimal loss of taste fidelity.

2034 –

Seeing the prosperity and safety that can arise when politics and corporations act together with the will of the people behind them Norway, Sweden, and Denmark all elect majority socialist governments in this year's election. Finland, Estonia, and the exclave Islandic government all follow suit. The Scandinavian countries sign agreements with Midgard to secure military capabilities for the future by hiring all military services from Midgard Einherjar. National Defence forces are folded into Midgard Einherjar, the weapons system part of Midgard Technica is split of and merged with Midgard Einherjar to create Midgard WarServices. The Ch-Onyx mk.1 NIM becomes available for consumer purchase.

2035 –

The world mourns the loss of Midgard CEO Joakim von Östenstjerne to the "Mnemonic Plague Virus" currently ravaging the Nordic countries. While von Östenstjernes death is only one of an estimated 2.375.000 lives lost the Scandinavian governments still choose to honour this great man with a 3-year enforced mourning period. An interim CEO is chosen.

2040 –

On January 1, the ODIN Central Command Server comes online ushering in a new future for Scandinavia. The interim CEO Mrs. Fredhem steps down and the board of directors is dissolved. All Midgard strategic and command decisions are now performed by ODIN. NetWatch tries to unlawfully intercede on Scandinavian sovereignty marking the start of the first "Polar War". The end of the year sees an increase of 247,3% on the internal Scandinavian markets and a 34.6% increase on international markets. Project "Muspelheim" enters its final phase at the end of the year.

2042 –

Midgard Media Services introduces the much beloved character Jaquie Jackerson, Jaquie will go on to become a children's favourite across all ranges of media providing children with educational media that is enjoyable to watch. The first "Polar War" ends.

2047 –

Violent insurrection rocks the Scandinavian Economic Area. Midgard WarServices outfits the Scandinavian Defense Forces with Anchor-Class combat drones and Tyrfing-Class exosuits helping ensure a speedy return to order.

2048 –

As a result of the 2047 "Midsummer Insurrection" 24 of 34 Scandinavian political parties are deemed internal terrorist organisations. Scandinavian Defence Forces are aided by Midgard Net Security to identify threats and entrenched terrorist cells throughout the Scandinavian region. Midgard Medica and Midgard Nano announces a collaborative effort: The "Hel" Criminal Rehabilitation System which is shown to rehabilitate terrorists to effective workers with a 78,9% efficiency.

2050 –

History is made as all the Scandinavian countries vote to merge with the Midgard Corporation. Old boarders and nationalities become irrelevant under the banner "Every worker a board member, every board member a worker". The world's first true socialist corporation "SocCorp Midgard" enters the world arena. The old royal houses of Sweden, Denmark and Norway are welcomed into Midgard as our proud brand ambassadors. Project "Muspelheim" concludes and introduces the Midgard Hyper Induction Geo-Histonic Thermic Reactor "HIGHT" a complete conversion of the old Icelandic landmass into a beacon of clean sustainable energy that promises to solve the energy need of the Scandinavian market for the next 250 years. Midgard WarServices rebrand as Midgard Defence Services as they debut the Ymir-Class combat automatons the second generation of Tyrfing-Class exosuits. The people of Midgard are soon tested as NetWatch in collaboration with Germany falsely claim that Midgard has breached the terms of the cease-fire from the first "Polar War" and launch an unprovoked and illegitimate offensive war on, not SocCorp Midgard or ODIN, but the people of Midgard and their ability to form their own future. The second "Polar War" will show that while Midgard laments the barbarity of war it will not shirk its duties and fight for the workers utopia that is our future.

2052 –

The second "Polar War" ends in complete victory after the strategic deployment of Midgard Medicas Selective Mnemonic Infection Technology, "SMITE" cripples NetWatch leadership and netrunner assets. As reparations Midgard and NetWatch renegotiate the 2013 accords freeing Midgard to aggressively pursue a new future within the net.

2055 –

SocCorp Midgard Corporate Centre and Embassies are established in Berlin, Paris, Madrid, London, Moscow, and Prague. Midgard Technica debuts the "Freja" and "Balder" line of executive custom cyberware.

2057 –

The opening of SocCorp Midgard Corporate Centre and Embassy Washington D.C marks the re-emergence of Midgard on the American continent. The Ch-Tungsten mk.1 NIM begins production.

2060 –

Midgard battels a resurgence of the "Mnemonic Plague Virus" but thanks to the tireless efforts of Midgard Medica and Midgard Nano the death toll is kept to a historic low. Midgard Defence Services unveils the "Forseti" line of weapon systems specifically designed for police and urban pacification operations.

2062 –

Midgard welcomes a number of survivors from the Haiti disaster relocated through the cooperation of Midgard Aqua and the Einherjar Strategic Asset Acquisition Agency.

2065 –

SocCorp Midgard establishes Midgard Caritas Europe's largest provider of humanitarian aid. Midgard Caritas mission is to support the workers of the world in times of need and represent the goodwill of the Midgardian people towards their brothers and sisters all over the world.

2069 –

As NUSA enters the "Unification Wars" Midgard supports this glorious endeavour by signing the "SIGMA" accords to share NUSA Net Intelligence in exchange for strategic target acquisition via the Hugin satellite system.

2072 –

The humanitarian crisis is Spain deepens as a hostile nanite swarm consumes the crops of Spain's largest internal-market hydroponic food producer. The situation grows violent risking the lives of Midgard Caritas workers and Midgard Defence Services deploys the External State Security Force along with several Einherjar Special Operations Units for short term deployment to Madrid.

2073 –

Reacting to the rise of nano-hazard cases across the European continent Midgard Nano starts development on the next generation of "Darwin" HK-model anti-nanite systems. The new HK-model will track down rouge nanite elements dissolve them to construct further HK-nanites and are predicted to reclaim 12,6% of infected Spanish landmass by 2080. Midgard Technia resolves to reclaim and reactivate the old hyper tube train networks in Midgard by 2078.

2076 –

Midgard Defense Services and Millitech sign a memorandum of understanding for joint development of the Dart-class submarine. Having secured the situation in Spain external State Security Forces withdraw while Einherjar Special Operation Units remain stationed at Midgard Madrid.

2078 –

The reconstituted hyper tube train network reopens on time to the benefit of the Midgardian people, during the process old technology presumed lost has been reclaimed and plans are laid to expand the hyper network to key European hubs by 2100. The Ch-Boron "Ad Astra" mk.100ex NIM special edition is released receiving praise for merging new technology with "that old nostalgic feel not available in modern products".

2080 –

The world rejoices and AI analytics are proved fallible as a second Unification War between the NSUA and the separatist states does not occur. While Midgard supports territorial unity on the American continent Midgard will always be a friend of peace and the first to celebrate its continuation.

2083 –

Midgard Caritas establishes a foothold in the independent city-state Night City to provide the populace relief and support during the ongoing cyber-psychosis crisis which has seen cyber-psychosis incidents rise by 450% since 2081. Midgard Medica donates 10.000.000 units of "Agonist" MRT-vector cyber-psychosis inhibitors. The trend is halted and by the end of 2083 the rise of cyber-psychosis cases has been halted.

2088 –

Now Midgard is proud announce the opening of the SocCorp Midgard Corporate Centre and Embassy Night City located in the newly constructed spire at corporate plaza.
