Beginning Notes

weirdhead: How about Chiron announce a food fight?

The only experience I've had with food fights is people's sandwiches getting stuck on the ceiling so... This is gonna be an interesting one! Characters belong to uncle Rick, hope you all enjoy :)

Jason

When Jason woke up and walked out of the Zeus cabin one morning, the sun was shining, a nice breeze was in the air, and the faint sounds of birds singing could be heard; it was a perfect day. But by now, he was used to so called 'perfect days' being the most chaotic kind of days at Camp Half-Blood. No matter how normal and refreshing the day would start, something was always bound to happen and turn everyone's day around completely.

Sometimes the Hephaestus cabin's inventions would go haywire or accidentally start a fire, or sometimes one of the Hermes cabin's disastrous pranks would go horribly wrong. Other times it could simply be the demigods being up to no good and deciding that it would be a good idea to try and organise real-life Quidditch matches, for example.

Whatever it was, there was always something going on, and as Jason made his way to the Dining Pavilion to have breakfast, he wondered what was going to happen today.

'Good morning, sleepyhead, you're up early,' he said to Nico as he sat down at the Big-Three table. (Sitting alone got boring quickly, so he and Percy had made Nico agree to getting one table for the three of them.)

'Well, I would've stayed in bed longer, if Jackson hadn't dragged me out of it at ass o'clock in the morning,' the son of Hades complained.

Percy rolled his eyes. 'Nine A.M is not ass o'clock in the morning, Nico. Besides, if we want to have some proper fun today, we want enough time for that, right?'

Jason raised an eyebrow at that. 'Oh? What do you mean, 'proper fun'?'

'Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you, but I thought maybe we could have a bro-day today. Just the three of us, hanging out and being bros.'

'That sounds great!'

It had been a while since Jason had hung out with Percy and Nico, seeing as he was usually goofing around with Piper and Leo, or working on his project to design shrines and temples for all the minor gods and goddesses. But today was a perfect day, so there could be no better time to hang out with his two bros.

Nico, on the other hand, didn't seem as excited since he groaned and said, 'I have better things to do than have a 'bro-day' or whatever.'

'Aww, c'mon, Nico, it'll be fun!' Jason said, pouting at him.

'Yeah! Besides, getting hurt and going to the infirmary to stare at Will can wait, because you've been doing that for the past few weeks already,' Percy added. 'Like, I get it, he's hot and everything, but we just want to hang out with you too sometimes, you know?'

'Fine,' Nico said with a sigh, and Jason felt a rush of excitement wash over him. 'So what do you want to do then?'

'How about we go swim-'

'No.'

Percy nodded. 'Alright, then not.'

Jason couldn't help but laugh at their bickering. But suddenly an idea popped into his head.

'Hey, how about we do some beach volleyball? Us three versus who else wants to play.'

'Ohhh! Yes, great idea, Superman!'

'Okay, that... doesn't sound too bad,' Nico agreed, and Jason pumped a fist into the air.

He and Percy had somehow managed to get past the hard part, which was getting Nico to join, so now, nothing could stop them from having fun. He excitedly finished his breakfast and then the three of them made their way over to the volleyball court to smash their way to victory.

They ended up playing against Kayla, Austin, Katie, Malcolm and two Ares kids Jason didn't know, so it was six versus three. Sure, it might have been a little unfair, and perhaps they did tragically lose all the matches, but Jason had enjoyed himself nonetheless. And by the exhausted smiles on the other two's faces, he was sure they'd had a good time too.

Walking back to the Dining Pavilion for lunch, he wondered what they could to afterwards. Maybe they could do something that Nico wanted, and then still go swimming later like Percy had suggested. That way they would have all been able to decide on one activity. But that was something they'd deal with later. Right now, Jason was hungry from all the volleyball, and looking forward to a good lunch.

As they sat down at the Big-Three table again, he noticed the stack of blue pancakes on Percy's plate and laughed.

'What are you laughing at?' the son of Poseidon complained, frowning.

'Nothing! It's just that you're truly one of a kind, Perce,' he explained to which Percy huffed.

'Blue pancakes for lunch is perfectly normal. Besides, it's better than eating Happy Meals three times a day,' he added, glaring at Nico who was stuffing his face with McDonalds.

'I don't eat Happy Meals three times a day! Just cause I crave it often, doesn't mean it's all I ever eat, dumbass,' Nico scoffed, throwing a fry at Percy's head.

'Hey! What was that for?'

'For being stupid.'

Nico threw another fry at Percy and Jason snorted. Percy then glared at him.

'What's so funny, huh?'

Jason was about to put his hands up in defence and tell him that it was nothing, but before he could do that Percy had already picked up the fallen fry, and thrown it straight at his face.

'Oi! I didn't even do anything,' Jason complained, picking up a piece of strawberry from his plate and chucking it back at him.

The cut fruit landed on Percy's shoulder, sticking to the fabric of his shirt. When the other boy flicked it off him, it left a small stain and he gasped.

'That was a clean shirt, Grace!'

'Oh, please,' Nico said, shaking his head, 'you just played volleyball in that shirt for a few hours, no way that it's still clean.'

'Shut it, Shorty,' Percy said, picking up the piece of strawberry and shoving it in Nico's mouth, which the younger boy immediately spat out in Percy's face.

'Ew, what the fuck, that was just stuck to your shirt and covered in sand!'

'Hey! Don't you go saying 'ew' when you're the one spitting all over me!'

Jason rolled his eyes at his two friends. They sure as hell could be dramatic sometimes.

'Blame Sparky, then, he threw the strawberry in the first place,' Nico said, crossing his arms.

'No, no, no, I had nothing to do with this,' Jason said, shaking his head, but it was of no use, for Percy had already grabbed the bottle of syrup that was standing next to him, and squirted it at Jason.

Great, now he felt all sticky and gross. Percy was definitely going to get that one back...

He snatched his big cup of milkshake off the table and emptied the entire contents over Percy's head. He heard Nico snort, and turned his gaze on the shorter boy. Oh, he wasn't going to get away with it so easily... He'd started it all by throwing that first fry at Percy, so Jason was going to get revenge on him too.

In one swift movement, he grabbed one of Percy's pancakes, which was covered in sticky syrup and blueberries, and threw it at Nico. He then snickered as he watched it fly across the table and smack Nico straight in the face. Bullseye.

Before Jason knew it, the two of them had teamed up against him and were throwing fries and pieces of pancake at him, and he was outmatched.

'What in the name of the gods is going on here?' a voice behind him then yelled, and Jason looked over his shoulder to see a stern looking Chiron staring right into his soul.

'Oh, uhm, s-sorry, we were...' he tried, but the words died in his throat.

Silence fell upon the whole Dining Pavilion and Jason could practically feel everyone staring at them.

Chiron sighed and shook his head. 'If you're going to have a food fight, at least let everyone join in, hm?' he said, raising an eyebrow.

Jason was just about to apologise, but then he felt a large piece of something that smelled like sushi hit him in the face. Chiron smiled smugly at him, before turning around and chucking more sushi at the other demigods, yelling 'food fight!'

And with the snap of a finger, everyone was suddenly throwing food at each other enthusiastically, creating the biggest mess Jason had ever seen at camp. But no one cared, because it was a perfect day, and they were all having the time of their lives.

It sure as hell was going to be a pain to tidy all of it up, Jason noted, as he saw a pizza slice fly across the room and stick to one of the pillars. That wasn't going to stop him from joining in though, because there was no way he was going to miss out on this fun.

End Notes

Imagine how bad everyone will regret their life choices when Chiron comes strutting back with a mop, announcing that they're going to have to clean it all up hahaha.

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! I've been running low on motivation lately so I would really appreciate it so much if you could leave a review and tell me what you thought, or give me some prompts if you have them! But no pressure, I already appreciate you so much for reading

I don't know when the next chapter will be, since I have a very tight schedule with school, training, and my new job, but I hope to see you all soon! Have a wonderful day, byeee :)
