Beginning Notes

So, as I didn't have any inspiration for ideas, I was browsing the internet a bit for interesting headcanons. And then I came across this, and decided that I just had to write a 'What if?' chapter about it, because it's such a great thought and I absolutely love the idea of it. So yeah, this chapter is about:

What if Leo gives warm hugs?

Calypso

As Calypso made her way back to her and Leo's garage through the storm, raindrops running down her face, and the cold wind chilling her to her core, all she could think of was: which pretty girl turned Zeus down today for me to deserve this?

Sure, perhaps the almighty thundergod had a decent reason to throw a fit and some thunderbolts, but knowing Zeus... it was a very unlikely thought.

Calypso shivered as she felt a drop op rain run down her back. Had she ever had this much rain over those centuries spent on Ogygia? Maybe she had, but then she'd had her nice, warm cave to hide in. Now, all she could see was rain. Quite literally, actually, since the cool drops were pouring right into her eyes.

Oh, why did it have to start raining right when she was picking up some extra supplies for the garage? Now both she and the supplies were completely drenched, and her trip would have been for nothing. And she could forget about the cupcakes which she'd bought from the nearby bakery as a surprise as well. How much Leo might have loved cupcakes, Calypso didn't think he'd appreciate them being all soggy.

After what seemed like forever, the bright sign saying 'Leo and Calypso's Garage: Auto Repair and Mechanical Monsters' could finally be seen in the distance. Calypso heaved a sigh of relief at the thought of changing into dry clothes and huddling up under a warm and cosy blanket.

When she opened the door she could hear Leo working in the shop, so she quietly climbed the stairs up to their little apartment that was situated above the garage as to not disturb him. She immediately went to grab a towel to dry the new supplies with, and then threw away the soggy cupcakes, thinking how it was such a shame since they'd looked so delicious.

'Oh well, I can always make some myself tomorrow,' she told herself.

Satisfied with that idea, she grabbed a pair of sweatpants and one of Leo's hoodies to change into.

Just as she was about to go down to check on what Leo was doing, she heard the familiar creak of the stairs.

'Callie?' she heard him call. 'Are you back yet?'

Calypso stepped out from the bedroom, and saw Leo in the kitchen, washing some oil-stains from his hands.

'Yeah, I'm back,' she told him with a small smile, before going over to the living room to go crash on the couch and relax. It only took a few seconds for Leo to follow suit, plopping down on the couch next to her.

Upon seeing her still very much wet hair, a frown made it's way onto his face. 'Did you get rained on?'

Calypso nodded. 'It's okay though, it's just some water. I'm not made of sugar, I'll live. Oh, and the supplies are alright, I dried them down as soon as I got back, but the cupcakes sadly didn't make it.'

'Woah, wait up... cupcakes?'

'Oh, right, yeah, I wanted to surprise you with some cupcakes from that little bakery down the road, but they got drenched and turned all soggy and gross,' she explained with a deep sigh. So far for trying to be the sweet girlfriend who got her boyfriend cupcakes, just because she could.

'Oh, Callie, don't worry about it,' Leo said, reaching over to her, wrapping his arms tightly around her, and woah-

Calypso had hugged him plenty of times before, he was her boyfriend, after all, but this felt different. It was like being wrapped in a blanket of flames. Flames that could not hurt her, but in stead tickled her skin, warming her up from inside, where she'd been soaked to the bone.

She felt so comfortable, basking in this newfound warmth, so at home and safe. She wanted to stay like that forever.

But after a while, Leo pulled back, taking the cozy flames with him. She looked at him with a sad pout on her face, because she wanted to hug him more. She wanted to feel his arms around her again, holding her close, keeping her warm and safe in his embrace.

'What's wrong?' he asked, seeming a little confused.

It was silent for a moment, before Calypso answered. 'You're so warm...' she whispered.

'Well, I'd have hoped I was at least hot as hell,' Leo said with a chuckle, and Calypso playfully hit his arm.

'I meant that you give warm hugs, silly. As in a sitting-in-front-of-the-fireplace-wrapped-in-a-blanket type of warm.'

'Oh...'

'I really like it,' she added quickly, looking away and feeling a different type of warmth rise to her cheeks.

When she looked back at him, he too had a light pink dusted across his face, accompanied with that stupid little smile of his that still made Calypso's heart flutter.

'Why don't I go make some hot chocolate, and then we can cuddle for the rest of the night, does that sound good?' Leo suggested.

'That sounds wonderful,' she agreed.

Leo then left to go make the hot chocolate, and came back a few minutes later. When he handed her the steaming mug, her fingers tingled with it's warmth, and it spread through her entire body when she took a sip of the sweet, silky smooth liquid. On top of that, when Leo put his arms around her again, she was enwrapped in his cosy comfort once more.

Calypso wondered if she could just pause life right then and there. If she could just stay in that moment forever, cuddling with her warm boyfriend, drinking a warm beverage and simply being fully surrounded by pure cosiness.

She rested her head on Leo's shoulder and took another sip of her hot chocolate. Even if she couldn't stop time to stay like that for the rest of eternity, she could at least enjoy the moment. And as Leo's girlfriend, she realised that she could simply always ask him for his magically warm hugs now that she'd discovered their existence.

This was surprisingly the first time I actually wrote Caleo, like can you believe it? I definitely can't haha. But yeah, let me know if you liked that! It was a rather short chapter today, but this was very sweet and fluffy. And like I've said before: it's like a treat, if you have to much, your teeth will rot and we don't want that, now do we :)
