A/n: Alright for this chapter I want to place a trigger warning for the middle of it-it gets dark and very down hill in this chapter. I also want to say that this story may not end on a good note, just for the sake that I don't think it deserves to. It started off dark so why not go out in the same fashion.

The next day when Serena and Mako woke up, it was because of Serena's phone going off. She knew the ring tone and she answered it. "Hm?"

"Sorry for waking you up Serena, but don't worry about coming to school today. Someone managed to make all the doors to the school sealed shut. No key or anything can unlock them. So they're closing the school down for the day." Iroh said with a sigh as he was explaining what was going on

"Kay, thanks for the notice."

"Sure not a problem."

Serena then messaged Bolin so she didn't have to get up before she turned to Mako who was looking at her curious "What was that about?" He asked as she cuddled into his chest.

"My cousin Iroh, he had called saying no school today. Someone pranked the entire damn school and sealed all the doors shut. So they have to get new doors."

Mako wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her back softly making her hum out in content. "Well that's fucked up, but at least we have some time together."

"Saying your brother won't bust down the door." Serena said as she looked up at Mako.

Mako kissed her on the lips as he placed her on her back and slipped between her legs. "If he does, he's going to regret it."

She tilted her head to the side. "You're enjoying this time off aren't you Mako?"

"Of course I am, I get to have hours alone with you. Especially after last night, I'm happy I don't have to get up right away."

She laughed a bit. "Oh you're so strange Mako, but that's why I love you so damn much."

"I love you too Rena, now how sore are you from last night?"

"Not too sore, if that's what you want to do-you'll have to be a little careful."

"Noted." He said before he kissed her on the lips and slipped into her once more

Both of them moaned out as he was a bit more gentle with her that morning, he didn't want to end up hurting Serena. He wanted to be sure that she knew just how much he cared and loved her for who she was. Mako was getting Serena and himself to their orgasm when there was a knock on the door.

"What is it bolin?"

"Uh..Is Mako in there with you?"

"Yeah, he is. What do you need your brother for?" Serena asked as she tried to calm her voice as Mako had her on top of him-riding him with his hands on her hips tightly.

"I wanted to see if he wanted to play a game with me."

"We're busy right now, we'll both play a game with you when we get done talking."

"Alright then, I'll just play a game on my own till you guys come out."

Once Serena couldn't hear Bolin's footsteps she looked up at Mako and kissed him on the lips as she moaned out loudly. Her hands moved to behind his head and to his lower arm to hold herself still as she felt him move into her as well as playing with her womanhood at the same time. Her body felt jittery with each thrust he made into her, even after they had their first orgasm it didn't matter to Mako, he wasn't going to stop until he knew he had satisfied her well enough to be able to not touch her for the remainder of the day. He didn't know if that was possible for him or not but he was going to try to.

As they had their third orgasm they both collapsed onto the bed and she cuddled against him. "Holy hell Mako, what the fuck."

"You have no idea how much I've held myself back from you Serena. You should know already that I've had a crush on you for a long while now."

"Yeah I get that-but holy shit, I wasn't expecting that shit to happen. To be honest with you...I wished you were my first and only boyfriend. But life is just a bitch...isn't it?"

"Yeah it is. We have each other now and that's all that should matter."

She nodded her head before she kissed him on the lips. "Let's get up and get dressed. I don't want to have another awkward conversation with Bolin through the door."

"Yeah, that was weird."

Both of them got up and Mako ended up having to help Serena a bit since she couldn't really feel her legs. Once they were both dressed, they walked to the living room and Serena sat in a chair while Mako sat by Bolin. Bolin placed in a game they could all play together, for hours the three of them played the game. In between the game, mako made food for them so Serena didn't have to get up. When Bolin went to use the bathroom, Mako checked up on Serena and gave her an ice pack to help with the pain she felt which did help her, while she was cuddling in a blanket.

As it came to be three Serena looked at Mako. "You should probably do what we talked about Mako, I don't know when my grandfather will be here."

"Right. Bolin mind helping me out?"

"Sure, I don't mind."

While the two of them left to go and deal with mako's things, Serena chose to take a nap as she felt rather tired. She woke up as she heard the door two hours later, she fixed her hair and placed the ice pack back in the freezer before she answered the door. When she answered the door she saw her grandfather and cousin.

"Hey Serena, grandfather doesn't have a lot so I'm just going to get it from my car."

"Alrighty Iroh."

Zuko and Serena then sat in the living room and talked until Iroh finished up and the two boys came into the living room. When Mako and Bolin came into the room, Zuko got up and he looked at both of them. "I don't agree with her being around either one of you two."

"That's nice, Serena and I signed the lease to this place together, you're not kicking us out of here."Mako said seriously

"This is a family home and you are not part of my family." Zuko stated

"What does that have to do with anything when for years you wouldn't even see your damn granddaughter who had lost her damn parents?! You adults swear you love the younger generations of your family, but when things hit the fan-no one is ever around to help with the collateral! Do you know who was there for Serena when she lost her parents? Who stayed at her side while she cried over the fact that they were gone?! Surely not you or her aunt, hell not even her damn cousin gave a damn! I was. I stayed by her side for years watching her slowly piece herself together bit by bit while the rest of you were ignorantly bliss about her well-being!" Mako said pissed

"M-Mako…"Serena said sadly

"I have to agree with my bro on this, you and the other adults in your family have been harsh to Rena. You should be thankful she even allowed you to be here with could have easily said no to you." Bolin said sadly

"I get that you two are close to my granddaughter but that stops now. I won't have her be with people I don't like."

"That's not up to you, that's up to her." Mako said seriously

Serena began to tear up and hyperventilate as she hugged a pillow tightly. Mako saw this and knew that her panic attacks were coming up. She hated when people fought in front of her or raised their voices around her, even if it wasn't directed towards her. Mako went up to Serena and bent down to her, he wiped the tears from her face and tried to soothe her tears as he spoke softly to her.

"You're okay Rena, it's alright."

"T-This isn't what I expected today...I...I don't want this." She said through her sobs.

Mako moved the pillow from her and hugged her instead, making her hug him back. She held onto him tightly as she sobbed out. Zuko looked unamused as he stared at his granddaughter. "Serena, you need to get over yourself. Your father was never this bad."

Serena said nothing as she nuzzled herself against Mako's shoulder. "Mako...I can't take this."

"Do you want to go to your room to clear your mind and relax?"

"M-Mhm.."

Mako picked her up bridal style and took her out of the room and to her room. Once she was sitting on her bed he made sure to give her one of her pig plushies which she thanked him for. Afterwards she called Iroh, hoping that he'd be able to help her out with the situation. When he answered the phone he didn't see the caller ID.

"Iroh speaking."

"C-Cousin...w-why did you leave grandfather here without making sure that things would be okay? He literally just did a 180 from yesterday. He's been arguing with my boyfriend and his little brother saying that he didn't approve of either one of them being here when my boyfriend signed the lease with me. As much as I am housing our grandfather, he needs to be nicer to my boyfriend and his younger brother. It was my choice to have them here, I wasn't given a chance to have grandfather here. I was literally forced by guilt to have him here. Either you fix this bull shit or you're going to be down one little cousin." Serena said before she hung up not letting him speak.

She gave him two hours before she didn't hear anything so she opened her door just a small bit to hear Mako and her grandfather were still arguing. She shut her eyes before she grabbed one of her belts and placed it around her throat. She then grabbed her vanity stool before she went to her closet. She then gave Iroh and Mako one last goodbye text after she had tied the belt to the iron poll that was in the closet.

She then kicked the stool from under her as her breathing began to cease as she pressed the send button on her phone then dropped it. Once she lost consciousness she didn't know what happened to anything around her. Mako had seen the message before his eyes widened and he bolted to Serena's room scared shitless for his girlfriend, only for him to see her body almost lifeless hanging from the closet. He got her down as he tried to get her to breathe while Bolin who had followed after him had called 911 to get help.

Zuko had also followed and couldn't believe he had seen his granddaughter hang herself, he didn't say anything and went into the room that was for him shutting the door. As the ambulance came to the house-so did Iroh's car. Inside of it was Iroh and his mother, Izumi-both of them got out of the car as they saw Serena being taken out of the house in a medical bed. After the EMT's got Serena into the van Mako and Bolin came out.

The two adults went up to the two teens. "What happened to Serena?" Iroh asked

Mako narrowed his eyes at the elder male. "She shouldn't matter to any of you, none of you were there when Serena needed someone the most. Your mother specifically told Serena to die after she had already gotten trauma from losing her damn parents and you didn't even stop it! Get the old geezer out of the house, Bolin and I are going to see what will happen to Serena. At least we care for her unlike you guys." Mako hissed out coldly before he walked past the adult with Bolin

Iroh was confused about what was going on and went inside to find his grandfather. When he and his mother found the elder male he was making a list of things he was going to make changes to. When he saw his daughter and grandson he stopped writing.

"What are you two doing here?" Zuko asked

Izumi was confused. "Aren't you concerned about the fact that you made your own grand daughter commit sucisde?!"

Zuko shrugged. "With her gone, I can kick the other two out and live here closer to the two of you."

Iroh rubbed between his eyes. "Grandfather I love you but you're being toxic as fuck right now. Listen, do you not understand what has happened to Serena? What have you done to her?"

"I don't care about her, I care about the house that my son had."

"Father, I love you but Izumo is gone! Serena still has a chance to live! If you care about anything for our family you'd be more caring for Serena! What would mother say if she was still around?!" Izumi said seriously getting pissed at her father

"So says the woman who had told the same woman she should have died with her parents. You have no room to talk." Zuko said with a sigh

"I'm trying to make things right! I don't hate her as much as I used to. Now either you can go and see your granddaughter in the hospital or we can take your old ass to a retirement home."Izumi said seriously

"I'm not moving." Zuko said seriously

Iroh took the box from the room that was not unpacked and placed them back into the car before he grabbed his grandfather forcing him out of the house. Izumi shut the door behind them before going into the car. The kid safety locks were on so Zuko couldn't get out of the car even if he tried to. Iroh and Izumi took Zuko to a retirement home before they went to check on Serena.
