Volume 0 Ch 8: Awake
Mantle Maritime Pub
Inside a bar, three individuals are seen seated on a table together
"Cheers boys, we made it"
"A right."
"FUCK YEAH we did!"
Three glass were clinked as the men all downed their shots
"Four fucking years of that place, but we graduated," The blonde haired man said
"Fuck Noah, I thought we weren't gonna make it. Seriously, I was expecting the soggy undercooked stake to take ONE of us at least from food poisoning. Fuck if not that, then atleast those stones they called hardboiled eggs they serve would," replies the redhead man
"C'mon Rich you always is looking at things with low expectations, have some faith man. Besides those eggs weren't all bad, sure they were as dense as bricks, but they do make for some nice hand warmers during winter," Noah the blond hairs says
"Hey I only set my expectations low, so I can never be disappointed. Well either that or pleasantly surprised," Rich responds
The third man in the group chimes in, "Guys c'mon we're here to celebrate. We're Specialists now. It's our night, no need to think of that fortress they call an academy again," the black haired man says.
"Fuck… Orien's got a point. Maybe I'll let myself be optimistic for once. Hey Noah, grab us some Jägerbombs, I'll be back, I spy a lovely little shortie over there eyeing me ," Rich stands and leaves the table.
"Fuck yeah bud, now you speaking me language." Turning to face the waitress Noah waves his hand, "Yo missy, me and the bois need some more refills on our Bombs here, also get us three shots of tequila while your at it love," Noah winks at the waitress, who responds with a blush across her cheeks
"Dude" Orien chimes up, "Ain't you already got Cassy man?"
"Pff ya well, what she don't know can't hurt her," Noah responds with a grin
"Heh, guess not."
Rich comes back with a sad expression on his face
Orien cringes, "No dice?"
Rich only scoffs, "She was eyeing the lady on stage right now. Just my luck"
"Fuck man, well, there always plenty to catch here, if you feel me bro." Noah bumps his fist at Rich's shoulder
"Yeah yeah I feel you bro," Rich chuckles.
The waitress returned with the drinks requested, followed by Noah whispering something into her ear making her slip him a piece of paper he stuffs into his pocket.
"Fuck man, wish we could get our leader into this." Rich says
"You know this ain't his kinda place, he too goody two shoes for this type of sleaze." Noah responds
"Fuck him. Fuck him and whatever high horse he's got himself on right now. Tonight's about us." Orien raises his glass
"To team MRON (maroon), the best damn team to come out of Atlas Academy."
"White Fang beware, we coming on yo asses."
"Team fucking MRON, hear to kick your shit."
3 hours later
"Oh god, who the FUCK decided to it was a goo- go- good idea to mix drinks." Noah slurs
"You ya dumbass", Rich responds, stumbling onto the floor
"Oh yeah, right"
"Fuck boys, I gotta take a leak, I'mma head to that alley there. Be right back." Orien runs off
"Fuck I might just got after him," Rich chuckles
As the two wait on the sidewalk they look up to the sky
"Got a lot more people depending on us now Noah. We can't just worry about passing exams now." Rich says
"Hey man, we're a team. We can handle whatever comes at us an them som-"
Noah is interrupted by a scream coming down the alleyway
"What the fuck?! Was that Orien?" Noah questions
"Let's hustle." Rich says as the two being to run to the alley
As the two make their way they see a body tossed to them alongside a bowstaff broken in half
"Orien?" Noah asks.
Orien is barely able to speak as blood comes out of his mouth, his eyes swollen, his nose dislocated.
Noah pulls out his first aid kit only to stop hearing a voice further in the alley.
"This is the future? These are the people you leave the fate of Remnant to? Your 'Defenders of the World?'"
A figure starts walking out of the shadows
"A boy with his pants down, pissing next to a library. Two of his possy thinking they're the biggest badasses to come out just cause they graduated."
The figure unsheathes his blade.
Noah lowers Orien and pulls out his rifle
"Everything I was afraid of came to be."
Richard readies his knifes
"No, they're not the solution."
The figure comes out revealing his brown eyes and skin
"Who the FUCK are you?!" Rich yells
"They're the problem. The disease. Leeches who suck the life out of this world, without any damn consequences."
The figure eyes his targets
"A plague I plan to save society from. Once and for all"
The figure leaps

Inside the bar
"Nice work tonight Natasha, you really killed it tonight."
The woman currently cleaning tables looks up to her coworker
"Yeah, tonight was packed. Well at least I got a good few tips. Made the poor boys think I was actually interested." She snorted, "Not even if we were the last two sentient beings in all of Remnant."
"Heh, well played girl. Those poor fools-"
Before she could finish a body comes crashing through the window. The body crashes through the bar counter only stopping at the wall of drinks.
"H-help." Noah's voice barely manages to speak.
His body is covered in blood, missing some teeth. Alongside of all that both his arms are dislocated
"SHIT! SOMEONE CALL 911!"
Multiple people are moving around the bar, one person goes to check up on the injured huntsman
"Monster…" was all Noah managed to speak before he passed out

Whitley already knew this was going to be a disaster. Even before he approached her, he knew Rai had something planned for him.
Rai
He has so many questions for him, but only one truly sticks out before him.
He wants to go and ask him right away, but he knows there is something that has to be done first.
"Mother, it's time for us to go."
Whitley stands near the door, hands behind his back, maintaining a straight posture as if he is at attention.
Willow Schnee is seated on her personal chair staring outside of her window to the clear Atlesian weather outside. Twirling a glass of wine around her hand she takes a deep sip.
"You're father arranged a separate transport for me, you and your sister will ride alone, you're dismissed."
Bringing his hands to his sides, Whitley gives a small bow, "Of course mother."
Closing the door, Whitley heads toward the entrance of the banquet hall. Though he is confused, did his father change the plans and not notify him?
Am I even important enough to tell that update too?
Along his way he walks by some of the staff, still cleaning up the aftermath of the party.
"Does anyone even know what Mrs. Schnee does these days?"
"Only Klein does, I've asked him what happened, all he says is she is going through some struggles."
"Oh it's more than just some struggles, I've been delivering more Vodka to her than ever before. Ever since the raid on the manor, she's been drinking like it's the end of the world."
"That much?!"
"Can you blame her? Her home was attacked, what else would she be trying to forget?"
As the staff uttered that phrase a painful memory comes to Whitley's mind
"YES WOMAN I DO CARE FOR THIS COMPANY WHY DO YOU EVEN THINK I MARRIED YOU?!"
"Jacques…. What are sayi—"
"Oh my Oum woman you seriously thought I married you for love. I wouldn't touch you if not for the company even if there was a gun at my head."
A dreadful thought comes to his mind
No it's not just the attack is it?
"Brother."
Seemingly snapping out of whatever mental state he was in he looks up to see his sister
"Weiss, are you ready?"
She nods and the duo exit the building to find Klein holding open the door to a white limousine.
"Young masters please hop inside, we do have a ways to go till we reach the docks." Klein speaks in a delightful tone
Weiss smiles as she enters, taking her seat. Whitley is more neutral, keeping a steady face as he takes his.
"How have you been Weiss?" Whitley asks as Klein starts the limo
"Fine, yourself?" Weiss asks
"Well as I can be. The party still leaves me exhausted." Whitley replies
"Hmm." Looking outside the window, Weiss stares out to the streets as they drive by. "Too bad Winter can't come with us, she does enjoy the scenery over by the cottage we'll be staying at."
At the mention of their eldest, Whitley tenses, their last conversation still fresh in his mind
"What do you think?" Whitley asks
Weiss turns to face him, "About what?"
"Winter joining Atlas. Giving up her title as heiress."
"I'm glad." Weiss states
"Glad?"
"Yes, she is able to make her future her own. Well she is making her future her own, she's not there yet." Weiss explains
Klein decides to give his own input from the driver seat, "Don't worry little snowflake, I'm sure you know as well as I do that your sister has more than what it takes to become a huntress."
Weiss only smiles, "You're right Klein, she will make it, and when she does, she can help me out as well."
Whitley only looks at his feet, "Help you as well? You plan to leave this family too?"
Weiss only stares at him, "You don't?"
"I don't exactly plan to jump ship because the going gets tough." Whitley replies
"So you would rather drown than take the lifeboat to safety?" Weiss asks
"Would you abandon those who brought you where you are just because of a few difficulties?" Whitley retorts, his voice becoming more agitated
"A few difficulties?" Weiss asks, "We learned our own parents' marriage is a sham! We were attacked at our own home for god's sake" Weiss slams her fist down at her seat.
"Are you really just going to follow our father off the cliff? Just become a clone of him? Why not make your own path? Choose your own destiny?" Weiss asks glaring into her brothers eyes
"Isn't that a bit hypocritical of you to say?"
"What?" Weiss eyes go wide
Whitley only shrugs, "You plan to become a huntress just like Winter. So I guess you want to follow in her footsteps and go to Atlas academy too, just like Winter. Maybe you will also become a specialist, just as Winter wants to become one."
Whitley then stares into Weiss' eyes, "For all your talk of following your own path, your path seems nearly identical to Winter's."
Weiss only looks away
The rest of the ride is filled with silence. Klein himself having a sad expression as he drives
00000
As they make their way to the docks the trio arrive to find three bullheads.
"Your father arranged separate transports for each of you with a pilot. That way it would be more difficult to hijack all of you. You will all be heading to the same destination, but for security purposes your mother will arrive later."
As both siblings head to their respective bullheads Weiss gets tapped on the shoulder by Klein.
"While I may not use your brother's language, he does have a point. You should look more into your options snowflake. After all, there are more academies than Atlas."
"But which one should I go to?" Weiss asks
"That is on you Weiss, but if you need help, I'm sure your sister can lend you her knowledge and help you pick. She may be busy now, but she will get a break, and I know she will be more than glad to help you." Klein gives his smile
Weiss smiles and heads for her bullhead, as she leaves she sees Klein preparing to perform his sneeze to help cheer him up.
"It's fine Klein, save it for later." She smiles
Klein only grins himself, "Of course my little snowflake."
Whitley only stares at the two, a feeling he cannot describe being to pound at his chest. He hates it, but he pushes aside and gets inside his bullhead.
As it takes off Whitley looks out through the glass window next to he looks he falls into a quiet sleep.
Only to be awakened when he realizes from the minimap on the tv in front of him they are going the WRONG way.
Getting off his seat, he rushes to the pilot, only to see a familiar face. Before he gets the chance to ask him what's going on...
"Ladies and Popsicles, please be advised we are taking a new detour and may experience some minor turbulence along the way." Rai says with a cheeky grin
It takes a bit for Whitley to process that
"Wait what do you mean min-"
Rai hits the turbo boost
Whitley regrets all of the life choices that led him to that moment
00000
Jacques was sitting in his office, enjoying a nice break from a job well done at the party. Sure there has been a few hiccups up to this point, but now, things are smooth sailing, nothing can possibly go wrong now-"
"SIR THE BULLHEAD WITH YOUR SON JUST GOT HIJACKED AND WE HAVE NO IDEA WHERE IT WENT!"
Jacques simply takes out his scroll, takes a deep breath, and dials the number
00000
General James Ironwood is not having a nice day, first he is tired preparing for the role out of the AK-130s. Then, there are reports of some freshly graduated huntsman being attacked. Next, there are reports of the White Fang obtaining military grade weapons that not even the black market should have, and finally, on top of all this shit, HE could now be in his own kingdom.
He opens the drawer in his desk to find a bottle of whiskey Qrow gave him in case this job just gave him too much bullshit as he put it. He contemplates opening the cap, but decided against it as he realized that he still has to maintain some levels of professionalism.
Then he receives a scroll call from Jacques Schnee. He answers the call and lifts the scroll to his ear.
The bottle is emptied a few minutes later.
00000
"And we made it." Rai stalls the bullhead, landing it on an open patch of ground.
The human pancake that was the former Whitley Schnee manages to recover himself and stands up, pure terror still visible in his eyes
When the door opens he quickly jumps outside kissing the ground, not caring that the dirt is getting inside his lips.
"Welcome to Aarailen Tundra Pops. Home to… well nobody really, this place is cold and uninhabitable to wildlife for a reason…"
As Rai said that, Whitley suddenly realized the weather he was in, and the lack of protective clothing he was wearing, notably, the absence of a jacket.
Before he knew it, a black fur coat was tossed to him. Alongside a navy blue toque.
"Keep them, you'll need them for what comes next."
"What?" Whitley asks
"You see that cave there?" Rai points into the cave next to them, "It contains an exit outside. Meet me there and you will be done with your training for the next two weeks. I'll see you on the other side, Popsicle."
Rai enters back into the bullhead and proceeds to fly away, as Whitley stares at the weapon at his hand, and then at the challenge ahead of him.
00000
"Hello?"
"I need it." Ironwood speaks in an exhausted voice
"James?" Qrow asks, shocked. He never thought he'd hear his friend like this.
"Whatever the FUCK it is you use to make that concoction in that flask of yours is, I need it. Either send me a sample or send me the recipe. I don't care which."
"What the hell happened to you? You know I sent those whiskey bottles as a joke right?"
"Believe me" Ironwood stares at his third empty bottle, "I thought so too."
00000
As Whitley makes his way deeper into the cave, he still can't help but feel cold even with the coat.
Why of all the places I had to go, does it have to be a freezing cave in the middle of nowhere?
Before he knew it , Whitley slipped and went on a ride down the worst slip and slide in all of Remnant. Landing into a snow pile to break his fall, he gets free and dusts all the snow off of himself
"Just great, now I'm cold AND wet. This can't get any worse."
As he says that, Whitley hears a low growl, as a massive beast slowly makes its way toward him, it's fists pounding toward him.
00000
As Rai flies the bullhead to the other side of the cave he gets a call from his scroll, picking it up, preparing for the voice he knows is coming
"You are fucking insane." Bookworm states for a fact.
"No I'm not. I have this under control, look I even killed all the Grimm inside that cave yesterday when I explored that place myself. Decided it's better to spar with him when he's exhausted. That stress will help him get his semblance to activate. Grimm are too much of a risk for him, that's why there isn't a Beowulf or Sabyr left inside."
"What about the Arctic Beringel the kingdom database says is also located in the area?
Rai pauses going pale white as he realizes his potentially fatal error
"Take over the auto pilot and land this thing somewhere near the exit."
Grabbing his sword he rushes toward the exit, opening the door and jumping right outside.
"Under control he says."
00000
As Whitley is running, he runs out of breath, but he knows if he stops he is dead.
The Grimm behind him is currently throwing massive chunks of ice at him. Whitley rolls out of the way of one, but quickly finds himself hit by another, sending him flying to a wall.
He groans as he gets up, but sees the ice wall in front of him has a light that comes from the top of the ledge.
An exit!
Noticing the wall ahead of him is a mix of rock and ice, he climbs the rocks and as he reaches the ice, the Grimm pounces on him, prepared to grab him.
Time seems to slow for Whitley, as his memories flash before him.
His father helping him put on his first suit.
Winter bringing him a few new books to colour with.
Weiss and him sneaking into the kitchen to grab sweets only to be caught by Klein, but he lets them off the hook.
But
Those aren't the only memories he has.
His mother and father in an argument. Father slapping mother across the face.
Winter isolating herself further from him as she trains
Weiss ignoring him focusing more on Winter
His mother consuming more and more alcohol.
Father consuming more and more of his work.
His own life in danger by a madman terrorist.
Is this how I die?
…
No
Klein always ready to place a smile on Weiss'
Stop
Ironwood handing the paperwork to Winter personally for entrance to Atlas Academy
STOP
Everyone giving him looks of pity or malice whenever he is with his father
STOP
His own father distancing himself further from the family
STOP
His own mother surrendering to drink
STOP
Weiss getting a hug from Klein for… he doesn't even remember what that was for
Winter giving Ironwood her first salute
What else is there for him? There must be more…
Right?
As he looks onto the beast set to kill him, he realizes.
It stopped, midair.
Only then does he look behind it and sees something that makes his eyes go wide.
A glyph, a black and gold clock-like glyph.
Before he has time to process a figure is seen jumping into the Grimm crashing it to the ground.
Smoke evaporates and the figure jumps to the top of the ledge, holding out a hand for Whitley
As he grabs it, he is quickly taken into a hug, the last thing he expected.
"I'm sorry." Rai says
Whitley is confused, why is he here? Wasn't Rai supposed to meet him outside?
"This wasn't supposed to happen, I know that's not an excuse, but I didn't know THAT was here."
Rai taps down Whitley.
"You're not hurt are you?"
Whitley gives a smile, "Well I did become a human pinball, but other than that I'm fine, don't know how though."
Rai smiles as well, "Aura, looks like it came in handy for more than your wrists."
They both stand up, "Let's get out of here." Rai says
As they make their way to the exit, Rai receives a call from his scroll,
"Okay you were right, I fu-messed up. Yell at me later, just get the bullhead here already."
"I can't" Bookworm replies
"What do you… mean… you… can't." Rai trails off as he notices the bullhead put on autopilot is currently crashing down in flames
"The rescue team is here. Atlas thinks the White Fang hijacked the boy, so they send in the big guns."
"Big… guns?"
Before Rai can get clarification, ten AK-130s land ahead of him near the crashed bullhead.
"Fuck."
He turns to Whitley who is currently shaking, and for once not because of the cold.
Getting to his knees, Rai looks at Whitley
"In the cave, hide."
Whitley did not need to be told twice as he makes his way back.
Rai simply unsheathes his sword as he realizes something. Why crash a bullhead when a potential hostage was inside?
00000
Jacques is furious
"DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST DESTROY THE BULLHEAD MY SON WAS IN!?"
Ironwood was lost for words, the orders were to RESCUE the target, why did the robots destroy the bullhead? Could it be the warning he gave about the White Fang potentially altered their AI to eliminate the threat first? If so that was a problem that had to be rectified IMMEDIATELY.
"I already sent out a squadron of Atlesian soldiers from the third brigade to check the crash site. As well as all available search and rescue technicians." Ironwood tried to calm Jacques.
Jacques to his surprise, for once did not flip out immediately. Rather he did something Ironwood never thought would scare him.
Jacques smiled
He got up with a big grin on his face, taped Ironwood on the shoulder where his rank insignia are and left his office. Only when he left did Ironwood realize what that was about.
If they found his son, hooray, the day is saved, but if they didn't. Ironwood won't be general for much longer. Not that he would want to be.
Another thought came into his mind, Winter. If she finds out he is potentially responsible for the death of her brother, she'll leave and go back to Jacques .
Jacques' message was clear. Either give me back my son, or give me back my daughter. He didn't care which.
He just knew he was getting one of them back.
Ironwood called for his secretary to get him another bottle from the canteen.
00000
Bullets came flying right at him. Not for the first time, and definitely not for the last.
Rai moves side to side sprinting towards them. Ten machines in total. Four in the front, six in the rear. The ones at the front switch to their twin crimson blades as Rai realizes what this means.
As the four charge, the six increase their rate of fire. Rai parries a slash from one and proceeds to roll out of the way of another, the third he ducks and slashes it's head off, taking it out of the fight. Stabbing the fourth in the chest before I can even react. He notices the firing from the rear stop and notices the barrels red.
They overheated, they can't fire anymore.
He charges at the six only to realize his mistake. The barrels from the AKs drop to the ground only to be replaced with fresh ones soon after.
Spare barrels!
Soon the six begin to fire at him again, only for the two at HIS rear switch to the battling guns as well.
He finds himself blocking bullets from all angles as the AKs surround him firing at all angles. Rai isn't out of the fight yet however.
Before he hijacked the bullhead he looted the old pilot's arsenal, including his signal flare gun.
Grabbing an ice dust crystal, he tosses it to the air Before firing the flare gun right at it. Steam explodes from the crystal and the AKs are forced to switch to thermal.
One AK notices a heat signature, and fires, only to find another, and another. Before long, it goes offline.
The last AK left switches back to normal vision and notices all other units are destroyed. By machine gun fire.
Before it can react, Rai slices at the robot's head, destroying the last one.
"They detected their own heat signature and destroyed themselves?" Bookworm asks
Rai sheathes his blade, "Looks like the AI still has a few knick to work out." His eyes narrow at the remains, "The spare barrels are something I didn't expect though. It allows them to keep firing their infinite ammo when they overheat; it looks like it's a one time use per set of barrels though. Blades aren't anything special either, can be parried and dodged like any other."
"I'll be sure to send this update to the White Fang, I'm sure they'll appreciate the heads up on capabilities."
Rai picks up the head of one of the robots. The visor is damaged and he notices a camera inside, pulling it out he drops the head, "It can record this right? That means Ironwood will soon know I'm here."
"If Ironwood knows, then so will-"
"It doesn't matter" Rai crushes the camera in his hand. "The plan remains the same. I'm not delaying this any further."
"Your call. Though I would advise you ACTUALLY think this through. I'll get another bullhead here for you, Ironwood sent another squad of actual soldiers for the boy so he's going to have to leave with them."
Right Whitley!
Rai runs back to the cave, "It's over Popsicle, you're safe to come out."
Whitley peeks out of a rock he was hiding behind. He notices Rai with a smile on his face and makes his way to him.
"Are we safe?"
He asks, exhausted
"Yeah we are."
Both take a seat next to the rock Whitley was hiding behind.
"That was my semblance wasn't it?" Whitley asks.
"Yeah it was. Time Nullification if I remember."
"Time… what?"
"Nullification. The opposite of dilation. It SLOWS the time of whoever is affected, leading them to stand still wherever they are. Essentially, they're frozen in a time prison."
Whitley is shocked, but then another thought comes to your head, "How do you know this?"
Rai simply chuckles, "I'm older than I look, and let's just say that age allows me to learn many things as they first happen. I met the first of you that had this. Back before your family was even called Schnee."
Whitley is confused, "Back before my family were Schnees?"
"Look kid, your grandad's last name wasn't Schnee, it was adopted by him as he broke away to make his own name away from his family. He decided that there is no better way than LITERALLY making his own name."
Whitley was shocked. His grandfather wasn't always a Schnee? Then he thought further and it made some sense, there is no history beyond his grandfather in any archives of Schnee in Atlas.
Even though he had many more questions, he had something he HAD to ask.
"Why do you hate huntsman?"
Rai freezes, "So you figured that out already huh?" He lets out a big sigh.
"Get comfortable, it's a story."
Rai simply stares out at the sky, it's crimson glow illuminated by the sun setting.
"Huntsman to me HAD the potential to be a force for good, and SOME are I'll give them that. The problem I have is they are to the ordinary man, super powered mercenaries, holding no accountability to any authorities except themselves. Sure they have to be 'licensed' in a Kingdom, but they are not that kingdom's responsibility as say a police officer is. If a police officer in Vale beats up an innocent for no reason, all of Vale's authority is put under scrutiny. Stricter training is given to everyone. That's not the case with huntsman."
Rai stands up and begins to pace back and forth Infront of Whitley, "If someone from Vale completely destroys bar after bar in drunken fights, nobody holds the hunstman accountable. 'They're just exhausted', 'They work tirelessly to defend us', but everyone else. Noooo fuck em, and before you tell me that they fight Grimm, let me just say, they aren't the only ones. All settlements outside the kingdom's have militia, ordinary people without Aura defending against Grimm too, yet if THEY do something only as half as bad as a huntsman does, BAMN straight to jail."
"Also, don't get me started on the ENTITLEMENT they have. There are those that think that just because THEY were allowed to have aura, that everyone should kiss their feet. Now sure, that's not everyone of them, but the problem isn't a few bad apples in the bunch, it's that a few bad apples rot the barrel, and when those bad apples can jump higher than most people can even see and have semblances that make them superheroes, then a few bad apples can make settlements collapse."
Rai stops and turns to face Whitley, "My problem with huntsman is that they have the responsibility to protect the world, but not the discipline for it. They also lack any sort of MEANINGFUL accountability for their actions. These people have the potential to turn a minor mistake into a complete disaster."
Rai pinches his nose "I've been around since they were first created and they have only CONTINUED to disappoint me. They are not our saviors, nor are they necessary. Before the great war, there were no huntsman, EVERYONE that could possess aura, had aura and fought. It's only because of the, god I hate that title, King of Vale, huntsman were created, in my opinion, LIMITING humanities potential, as it limits who our guardians are."
Whitley doesn't know what to say, "I don't get it, I'm sorry, but that was a bit too much for me to understand."
Rai only chuckles, "Don't worry about it kid, if you're lucky, you never will have to."
Rai walks up to Whitley placing his palm over Whitley's forehead. As both individuals glow, Whitley is felt a small surge of energy pushed into his very being.
"I placed a small portion of my soul inside yours. It will alert me whenever you are in danger. Normally I would not use this technique, but after today I think drastic measures are required."
A bullhead is heard overhead flying by preparing to land near their location.
Rai looks at his scroll and replies to a text he is given, "Looks like my ride's here."
As the bullhead lands and Rai boards, he gives Whitley a quick look, "They will know my face, but not my name, so as far as anyone is concerned a rogue huntsman kidnapped you for ransom."
Whitley nodded
Rai gave a small grin, "Enjoy your vacation popsicle."
As the bullhead soars away, it isn't long until Whitley hears three more headed his way. He looks into the sky
He smiles realizing he just survived something nobody thought he would, "Can't wait to see everyone's reaction to this."
00000
"Glynda contact Qrow for me, tell him to be ready for travel."
Ozpin looks at the camera footage Ironwood sends him from the AK-130s. The footage of the fellow no older than a teen charging recklessly at the machines. Welding a weapon Ozpin is all too familiar with.
"When do you leave?" Glynda asks
"In three days, we depart."
00000
Ironwood, slumped behind his chair, knows what's coming.
"Sir you called?"
Turning his chair, eighth bottle in hand, Ironwood faces his last hope for a potential peaceful resolution.
"Clover, Harriet, Vine, Elm… where's the last one?"
Harriet chuckles, "Old boy's not able to come here yet, running a little late as usual."
"We already read your memo sir, when do we move?" Clover asks
Ironwood stands, placing his scroll on the holotable showing a map of Atlas
"In three days, we deploy.
00000
Rai gets a notification from his scroll, a message that makes him smirk
"Got the last of the warehouses
They're ready
-Snowbird"
Rai gives her a call
"In three days..."
"We Strike"
00000
Okay before you…
Hey
Where are the pitchforks?
The guns?
Oh you saw how it took forever for me to update so you know my lazy work ethic proves I'm not an imposter
Okay…

Seriousness time, this first arc is coming to a close and I already have it planned out. So the next few chapters will come out sooner rather than later (hopefully) and it can come to a close.
I tried to focus more on Whitley and the Schnee family dynamic as for him, or the lack of one. It's really fun writing with him. Since he doesn't get much screen cannon leaving him with much room to explore. As for his semblance, well Time Dilation always seemed interesting to me, but then I realized, what if that, but slow.
As you can see with such genius thinking skills like that it should come as no surprise that updates take forever for a reason, that being I'm stupid. :P
The forces are gathering, lines are being drawn, and Ironwood is still too sober for this shit.
Also is a real pain in the ass for me to upload any new chapter Everytime I try since I'm limited to mobile.
See you next time any enjoy Labour Day.
!Chiao! :D
