Chapter 8: Announcements
The island of Mata Nui
Ga-Koro
Nokama smiled as she touched her forehead to her baby's forehead, earning a giggle. She knew she'd have to announce this to the other Turaga, and the rest of the island, at some point. Not now, though…
"Love-dear," Matau knocked on the door, "someone's here to see you."
"Besides you?" Nokama joked back, putting Aroha-Nui back in the driftwood cradle. She opened the door and saw Matau, along with the other four Turaga (and Matoro, who always came with Nuju to translate).
"Mata Nui, preserve my dignity…" Nokama muttered. "OK, so I'm guessing Matau told you the news."
Vakama nodded. "He did."
"No wonder he kept having 'meetings' with you." Onewa sounded disgusted.
Nuju glared at Onewa and started whistling sharply in a dissonant string of pitches. Matoro decided not to translate.
Whenua elbowed Onewa. "Onewa meant no disrespect, Nokama. You know how he is."
"Thank you, Whenua." Nokama turned back to the cradle and lifted out Aroha-Nui.
Matau started jumping up and down. "Nokama! Love-dear! They haven't met the baby!"
Nokama huffed. "I'm getting there, please be patient." She showed everyone the baby. "Brothers - and love - this is my daughter, Aroha-Nui."
"That means Great Love!" Matau chimed in.
Nokama shook her head affectionately, "Thank you, Matau."
"Wait… so you two should probably get married now." Whenua started piecing it together. Nuju whistled, but instead of the seemingly random pattern, it was "Here Comes the Bride."
"Good one, Turaga!" Matoro laughed.
Nokama sighed loudly. "I suppose you're right…"
The Island of Mata Nui
Le-Koro
"Kara, are the flowers really necessary?" Mulan looked at her reflection in a polished stone.
"Oh come on, you look even more beautiful with flowers in your hair." teased Kara as she put Mulan's hair into a side braid. It was currently at her mid-back, which looked pretty but was also a fire hazard.
"Toa Kara! Toa Mulan!"
Kara and Mulan turned around to face Kongu, one of the Le-Matoran.
"Can't two heroes have a girl's moment without interruptions every five minutes?" snapped Mulan.
Kongu decided to make this quick. "Turaga Nokama and Turaga Matau are love-marrying."
Kara put the pieces together, "And they want me, Mulan, and Shang to attend. We'll be there."
