Chapter 11: Found
"This is great! Just great! Now what? I'm doomed!"
Mulan's eyes slowly opened at the familiar voice. "Mushu?"
Mushu didn't seem to hear, waving his arms around. "And all because Miss Firepants decided to jump in a portal after her kids!"
Another voice, unmistakably Kara's, cut in. "Thanks, Mushu! Now we have a way to talk about the matchmaker behind her back!"
"Kara!" Mulan woke up fully and tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness crashed over her and she flopped back into the healer's cot.
"Look around you, you're in Le-Koro." soothed Kara. "You're safe."
"What about Aroha-Nui?" asked Mulan, her mind still on the mission.
At those words, Len came into the hut alongside Matau and Nokama and the rest of the Li-Fa family. "She's safe." said Len, extending a finger to the bundle in Nokama's arms. Aroha-Nui grabbed Len's finger and giggled.
"How?!" Mushu huffed a small flame. "So we've been running all over the island for nothing?"
"Mushu…" Len groaned, then took a deep breath. They explained that when the tidal wave struck, Hahli lost track of Aroha-Nui's whereabouts in the chaos. Rong found her and took her to a "safe place" where the Li-Fa children often played. Shortly after the Toa, both old and new, went on the search, Rong ran out of games to play with a baby and told Len.
"What matters is that my friend is safe!" piped Rong. Heliu and Ruhuo echoed the sentiment. Mai, on the other hand, was looking for the quickest way out.
"In a hurry, Mai?" asked Shang.
"Yes! I have to get to kohlii practice... the championship game is happening tomorrow!"
"Then let's not keep Po-Koro's goalkeeper waiting." Nokama responded, ruffling Mai's bobbed hair. She knew that Ga-Koro was playing against Po-Koro for this. But secretly, she wanted to see Mai win. After all, it would be a wonderful memory. Especially since she knew that the Li-Fa family's time on the island was coming to a close.
