The little girl laughed as she played with her friends in the garden. Teri Michelle Bauer-Myers, Teri to those who knew her, was a very typical three year old. She had her father's dark brown hair, her mother's bright blue eyes and both of their surnames. Cover names and witness protection were no longer necessary. Her father was once more known as Alex Myers, her mother once more known as Kim Bauer.

Alex smiled as he watched the small group of toddlers. They were all close friends at Teri's kindergarten and he was glad that she had so many already. He glanced over at Kim, who was relaxing in the sun on a lounger. They had married in Los Angeles a few months after Teri was born, with Kim deciding to keep her maiden name.

I only knew her mother for less than a day, but I'm sure Teri would be very proud of how her daughter is doing as a mom herself.

It had taken some organisation to revert back to their old names. Friends and colleagues alike had listened with fascination as they heard the story. Many had questions, and all were glad that the drama had come to a conclusion. Jack had been to visit them on many occasions and had even been considering moving to Newport News. He had left the world of counter-terrorism behind for good, wanting to focus on his family and friends.

Sitting down on the lounger close to the one Kim was using, they were soon joined by Teri who wanted her shoe tying.

"Hannah has a new brother, can I have one too?" She asked as Alex finished with her shoe, causing him to grin. Hannah was her best friend, and anything she had, Teri had to have too.

"We'll have to see about that," he replied. Nodding, she ran back off to join her friends. He glanced over at Kim, who in turn was looking over at the playing children.

"How about Anthony George?" Alex asked, causing her to look at him with confusion before grinning.

"Might be another girl," she replied, her grin fading a little as she remembered the sibling she never had. She had always wanted a little brother or sister.

Alex smiled at her. "Antonia Georgina, then?"

Either way, he would love any future children as much as he loved Teri. Being a father and husband were the two most important things in the world to him.

Everything we went through was worth it in the end, I'm glad we stuck together.

Later on in the afternoon and most of the kids had gone home, although a couple were still playing with Teri. The day was still sunny with a cool breeze, the first signs of autumn beginning to appear in the area. Alex and Kim were now sat on a bench they had placed close to the front door, watching the children play. Alex smiled and wrapped an arm around Kim, knowing that everything was going to be okay. The times of violence, loss and trauma seemed to be finally over for them all. His beautiful dream had become their beautiful reality.
