Echoing Sounds of Battle

The eerie feeling that waved through the halls of the Jedi Temple had not been there since the first Jedi Enclave had been attacked. This time, however, it was far worse because the enclaves were all supposed to have been evacuated. Most of the members of the Jedi Order wondered why the Cularin Enclave had not done so as well. None of the High Council members had been seen since dawn and the rumour that was spreading amongst the other occupants was that they were planning to possibly uproot the entire Order and take everyone back to Tython.
Ashlyn came out of the elevator and headed straight for the Chamber door where she knew all the Masters were in session but she did not care about the rules anymore, not currently anyway.
"Padawan Dubreas, the Council is in session," Anya sternly tried to tell her off but the Senior Padawan was not in the mood to hear it.
"I need to talk to the Jedi Masters about something urgent and no one will stop me," Ashlyn warned her as she continued towards the doors which opened upon reaching it.
"Padawan Dubreas, what do you th-," Master Windu started but was interrupted by Ashlyn.
"No, you are ones I should asking that question to," Ashlyn growled, "You were supposed to evacuate all the Enclaves," she added even more angrily.
"The Cularin Enclave was a secret, there was no way the Sith could have known about it, let alone be able to get into the building," Master Mundi tried to give their reasons.
"So was the Hoth Enclave and yet they knew about it," Ashlyn said, "I don't want to hear excuses from any of you," she added suddenly seeing red.
Anakin wanted to help his Padawan to calm down but he had been one of the few Jedi Masters who had disagreed with the decision to not evacuate Cularin along with Obi-wan and Luminara.
"Master Skywalker, please ask your Padawan to leave?" Master Windu requested through gritted teeth. The young Jedi Master sat there thinking about the request for a few seconds and then responded.
"No."
"I would just like to tell you all that these loses are on your heads because you were stupid and naïve enough to think that maybe, just maybe, there are a few Enclaves that the Sith don't know about," Ashlyn said, "But I am warning you all next time you make a mistake like this I will make sure you don't continue to hold the title of High Council Member. You might as well join the Sith Army yourselves."
Then Ashlyn stormed out of the room leaving behind a group of Jedi Masters who were silent from shame and shock from the display of disrespect from a Padawan. Ashlyn walked briskly through the halls and felt like the air in the building was suffocating her more with every second that passed by. Until finally she reached the Temple gardens and decided the sit under the Tree of Prosperity to try and calm down by meditating. After a few minutes of the echoing sounds of battle from the attack on Cularin that had by now completely ended she gave up and opened her eyes.
"If they didn't evacuate Cularin then is it possible there are other Enclaves that weren't evacuated as well?" Ashlyn asked herself as she came to a sudden revelation. Jumping up onto her feet once again Ashlyn walked hurriedly towards the Communications Centre in the Temple. Upon entering she found it empty which was good as her plan would have been useless if anyone had been in the room.
"Okay off-world Jedi Enclaves, where are you?" Ashlyn said musingly as she looked through the list of files on the computer, "Gotcha."
Ashlyn looked at the information with horror as she realised that there were three other Enclaves that had not been evacuated like Cularin. She angrily pressed more buttons as she put in the details to contact the Republic Navy, in particular Admiral Yularen who had been her Master's Admiral during the Clone Wars.
"Please state your security code?" a droid's voice asked.
"916275," Ashlyn said clearly into the communicator.
"Your message has been delivered to Admiral Yularen, thank you for contacting the Republic Navy Office Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker. Have a nice day," the droid said in conclusion and then the call ended. As soon as everything was done and she had received a message to say that three starships had been dispatched to the requested planets Ashlyn left the Communications Centre.

The Jedi Council had been in session for at least two hours now and Anakin was starting to get bored of sitting there doing nothing. Then without warning his comlink began to beep and all eyes in the room turned on him curiously as he took it out of one of his pouches.
"Skywalker here," Master Skywalker said softly as he answered the call.
"Master Skywalker, my starship has arrived at Arkania," Admiral Yularen's voice said, "We are evacuating the Enclave as you requested," he added.
"Master Skywalker, why did you do this without the rest of the Council's approval?" Master Windu demanded.
"I didn't do it," Master Skywalker said in confusion, "Admiral, what did the rest of the message say?" he asked.
"Two other starships were sent to Dorin and Ossus but they will take another day or two to arrive," the Admiral replied, "The message was attached to your security code, sir."
"I swear I did not send this message," Master Skywalker stated firmly when he saw the look some of the other Masters were giving him.
"That is yet to be seen."

"Where have you been?" Daly inquired in concern upon seeing Ashlyn sitting on one of the window sills of an open window.
"What do you mean?"
"No one has seen you in three days," Daly pointed out, "I started to worry that you had gone off to Cularin to hunt the Sith Army down or you left with David," he added.
"David?" Ashlyn asked in concern.
"Yes he disappeared along with a Jedi Starfighter around the same time you were nowhere to be seen," Daly revealed.
"Are you serious?" Ashlyn asked incredulously.
"Well I can tell you one thing I'm not joking or lying; so what happened to you?" Daly asked in concern.
"The Jedi Council didn't listen to me and I had to take matters into my own hands," Ashlyn said and she continued when Daly gave her a confused look, "Cularin wasn't the only Enclave they didn't order to evacuate."
"Are you serious?" Daly asked incredulously.
"Yes, Dorin, Arkania and Ossus were not evacuated like Cularin," Ashlyn revealed.
"What did you do?"
"I did what should have been done with all the Enclaves regardless of whether the Council thinks they are secret or not," Ashlyn said in finality as she slid down off the window sill.
"Your Master's been looking for you, you know," Daly said.
"Yes I do, I've got a backlog of calls on my comlink," Ashlyn acknowledged that she was aware of her Master looking for her.
"How have you been hiding from him in the Temple?" Daly inquired, "Please tell me you have slept."
"I haven't really been in the Temple," Ashlyn admitted, "I've been crashing at Senator Amidala's during the day and hiding in all sorts of places here at night," she added.
They started walking down the hallway and then Ashlyn spotted a look that Daly gave her; she turned so that she was walking backwards.
"What?" Ashlyn inquired.
"I've been worried about you and you didn't think to tell me that you were okay," Daly said.
"I'm certainly capable of looking after myself," Ashlyn stated, "Besides if I was in trouble you would have known about it pretty quickly," she added.
"And what about your Master?" Daly inquired.
"What does tha-," Ashlyn stopped abruptly as she walked into someone and stopped. The person she had bumped into was definitely taller and more muscular than her and he had his arms folded across his chest. The Senior Padawan didn't have to make many guesses to know who was standing behind her and she slowly turned around to see her Master.
"We need to have a serious chat now," Anakin said sternly as he turned and walked off; after a few moments of shock, Ashlyn followed him slowly with her eyes on her Master's boots as she followed at a deliberately slow pace. Anakin waited for her in the doorway of their private quarters and once Ashlyn was inside, the door closed behind her.
"Where in the name of Tatooine's suns have you been?" Anakin demanded as he remained standing while his Padawan sat down in one of the chairs.
There were a few minutes of silence before Ashlyn responded, "Does it really matter? I wasn't breaking any of the Order's rules."
Anakin sighed deeply, "Don't take what happened out on me Ash, I was one of those Masters who wanted Cularin to be evacuated," he said sternly.
"And what about Ossus, Dorin and Arkania?" Ashlyn inquired in frustration.
"Now hold on a moment-," Anakin stopped mid-sentence and realised what his Padawan had just said, "How did you know about those Enclaves?"
Ashlyn stopped when she realised the mistake she had just made now she was going to be in even more trouble than before.

A/N: Ashlyn is in big trouble now.
