On Your Knees
Jaira walked down the loading ramp as the prisoners were walked into the new Slave Processing Facility and she was greeted by the Zygerrian Queen.
"I hope you are pleased with the facility," the Queen said as she led the Empress towards the entrance.
"My Apprentice had told me many good things about it," Jaira responded with a little bit of excitement clear in her voice.
The Queen's entourage walked through the facility at a calm and steady pace as Jaira took in everything; the sights and sounds of the Jedi prisoners.
"Are any of them ready to do proper work?" Jaira inquired, "I have a statue that needs to be put back together on Dromund Kaas and normal slaves haven't been able to accomplish that task."
"The Jedi are going to take much longer to break than normal slaves my lord," the Queen pointed out, "They are very resilient but it won't be much longer before they will be ready for proper slave work," she reassured the Sith Lord confidently.
"Very well," Jaira said and then she noticed her Apprentice approaching them.
"Master, Your Highness," Darth Xaeven greeted as he bowed in respect.
"If you will excuse us for a moment, your majesty, I need to talk to my Apprentice," Jaira requested and the Queen respectfully walked away.
"How have the interrogations been going?" Jaira inquired curiously.
"Not good my lord," Darth Xaeven replied, "We have continued to torture them but they are refusing to reveal any information."
"Well I would like to meet one, come along," Jaira said as she led the way towards the interrogation cells.
Upon entering one of the rooms the Zygerrian interrogator stopped what he was doing, awaiting orders from the two Sith Lords that had entered.
"Leave us," Jaira ordered and the man left quickly so as to avoid any unpleasant events.
"I hear you have been making it difficult for us to extract information from you," Jaira said directly to the Jedi Master in the chair in front of her.
"I have nothing to say to you," he responded hoarsely.
"On the contrary, I believe you know where I can find more Force-sensitive children-," Jaira paused as she glanced at the datapad on the desk, "-Master Gonatu, is it?"
"You might as well kill me because I will never reveal that information to anyone," Master Gonatu stated very simply and confidently.
"Well I'm sorry to break this to you but I will not allow you to have that satisfaction," Jaira whispered dangerously, "We will keep you alive even after you give us what we want and like all the other Jedi out there you will be made to serve me and my Empire," she added in amusement at the look of horror that appeared on the Jedi Master's face.
"You're this Sith Lord that has been doing all of this," Master Gonatu said as he realised who he was talking to.
Jaira nodded her head softly, "Yes I am, isn't it marvellous?" she asked mockingly as she shocked him with some force lightning.
Half an hour later Jaira walked out of the last interrogation cell with her Apprentice close behind her and then said, "Darth Xaeven you will be returning to Dromund Kaas with me today. I think the Death Watch can continue to supervise on their own for now."
"Of course Master," Darth Xaeven said before leaving to go pack his things so he was ready to leave as soon as possible.
They arrived back on Dromund Kaas and Barriss was there waiting for the Force-sensitive children that Jaira would no doubt have with her from Cularin. The Empress came down the loading ramp and continued through the spaceport without giving anyone a glance. This didn't faze Barriss however as she already knew what was expected of her from Jaira which she did not waste any time in starting.
"Come along children, follow me please!" Barriss called out to all the children who were now coming off the ship. Riesha was nearby with a group of Padawans who were being restrained by members of the Sith Army.
"Riesha, I'm going to take the children back to the Citadel," Barriss informed the Empress's cousin before swiftly leaving the spaceport. Upon arriving at the Citadel Barriss led the group through the many hallways and into a room across the hall from Jaira's private living quarters. One by one, from youngest to eldest the children were taken in to get their memories of the Jedi Order wiped and given their new names. Then they were led away to the Force-Born barracks and drafted into groups similar to the clans used by the Jedi Order for Younglings.
As Barriss led the last child away Riesha arrived with the Padawans who would go through a similar but more complicated process. One of them broke loose upon seeing the eleven-year-old boy and pulled the boy into a hug.
"Kyle, are you alright?" the Padawan asked desperately.
"My name is Vislor, not Kyle."
Upon hearing this the Padawan frowned, "No Kyle, it's me Jase, your big brother," Jase said and then he rose to his feet, "What have you done to him?" he demanded as he launched himself at Barriss.
Before he could do anything though two of the Force-Born grabbed his arms and bent them behind his back forcing him to the ground.
"Vislor, come along now," Barriss said, softly trying to coax him away from the Padawan but the boy shook his head and approached the teenager who was now crying.
"I don't have a brother," Vislor said, "I hope you find Kyle though," he added sympathetically before turning back towards Barriss and followed her.
"NOOOO!" Jase screamed down the hallway but the young boy seemed very unfazed by it as the Padawan was dragged into Jaira's private quarters. Riesha also entered the room knowing that her cousin would need help with this particular teenager for the process to be successful.
Jase was strapped down to a chair all the while struggling to get free of the grip the two Force-Born had on his arms to hold him securely. Jaira stood in front of the chair with her hands on either side of his temple while Riesha stood behind with hands on either side of his head. Soon the chanting began, within minutes the Padawan was out cold as Jaira and Riesha delved deep into his memories and erased any they deemed unfit for him to keep; even his name.
Then at the very end, Jaira said one line to finish it, "Awaken Rhavin."
The Empress and her cousin removed their hands from his head and waited a few moments for a sign that it had worked. Rhavin breathed in deeply and then his eyes shot open to reveal yellow irises instead of his previous brown ones.
"What is your name?" Jaira asked.
"I am Rhavin, one of the Force-Born," he responded.
"Good and who am I?"
"My Empress," Rhavin answered as he was released from the bonds and dropped down onto one knee in front of her.
"Very good, you are dismissed," Jaira said and then turned to Riesha, "Send in the next one."
"The others are still being processed at the spaceport but right now we have a meeting to attend," Riesha informed her.
"Very well," Jaira said as she led the way out of the quarters and towards the audience hall to find everything set up and ready for the meeting to begin.
"Empress," they all greeted in unison as they waited for her to take her seat first before sitting down.
"Now first order of business how are the new upgrades to the X5-S9s Giles?" Jaira inquired curiously with a bit of excitement.
"Everything is going smoothly except for one little hiccup," Giles said as he bought blueprints up on the holo projection so everyone in the room could see it.
"Now as you can see this particular armour piece does not shield the hydraulic wires very well and if a Jedi manages to slice that area with a lightsaber then the droid would not be able to control their weapons," Giles explained.
Jaira frowned slightly in deep thought as she tried to think of a possible way to correct this without creating the problem of less maneuverability with the droid.
"Maybe we could try putting two pieces of armour together on an angle over that area so that it doesn't restrict the movement of the droid's leg," Lorka suggested casually.
"Yes that could very well work and I did think of it but I wanted the Empress's permission before I added it to the new design," Giles nodded in agreement and then turned back to Jaira, "Empress?" he asked.
"That sounds like the best way to resolve it until we come up with new designs," Jaira approved the plan, "Now I heard you had something new for me, Giles."
"Yes my lord with the assistance of Lorka I have designed new armour for the Sith Army that I think you will like immensely," Giles announced as gestured behind him and two people walked in.
Jaira recognised them as two members of the Force-Born and they were wearing two separate armour sets that were both the exact same design with a few differences.
"Now this one will be exclusively for the Force-Born, see the red markings, each of them are added for each rank," Giles said as he pointed out sections of the armour on the sleeves, robe, mask and armour that were red in colour. Then he turned to the second one which was plainer and those areas that had red on the first set were silver to display each rank.
"And this one will be worn by those who are not a part of the Sith Army. Ultimately the more silver or red markings the armour has the higher the rank of the person."
Jaira approached the two Force-Born to inspect the armour more closely and she was pleased with what she saw.
"Very good Giles, proceed to have more of these made but no one gets the silver and red markings until they earn them," Jaira ordered.
Giles nodded and he dismissed the two boys and the meeting continued on with the planning of the next attack against the Jedi.
