Chapter one: Reaping day
Today is the reaping day. My first reaping day. One name in those glass pots is Primrose Everdeen, my name. But like my sister said what are the odds. Though I'm still sure it could happen. Katniss and I walked to Town Square, I was so nervous. Then I realized every group of age had to be split in different spots. I really don't want to be without my family, or Katniss she's so brave, she's not scared to do anything but me personally I doubt myself a lot.
After a particular video from the Capitol, it was time to pick the tributes from district 12. As Effie said ¨Ladies first¨ she was such a character she had a very colourful wig who made me fantasize of being from the capitol. I felt as if she wore a bit too much makeup though. She read the name on the paper. ¨Primrose Everdeen¨ I froze everyone started looking at me.
Effie looked in the crowd looking for the one and only Primrose Everdeen, she put on a reassuring look to incite me to come to the stage. I started making my way up to the stage, I looked at Katniss she was petrified.
Once I was up on the stage I looked at Katniss again. I felt like Katniss just realized the significance of what had just happened her little sister had been chosen to go into The Games.
The male Tribute had been chosen it was Peeta Mellark. He was Katniss' age, Katniss had always been a little annoyed by him. Peeta passed by our house to go to the bakery after school. I remember him, his brother was my age. The thing I remember the most about his brother was that he always had bruises. It was basically a trademark his nickname could've been bruisamellark if he wanted to.
Effie asked if there were any volunteers. I saw my sister's eye-opening wider she was about to do it. I know she would've done it she really cared about me, well more than most siblings in the districts. Katniss looked at me this time, I shook my head slowly and told her no silently. I don't want her to go to The Games. I saw a tear going down katniss' cheek, she rarely cried. That was it I was going to die and Katniss felt it.
