You can leave any suggestions to include in this story and maybe I will include them. I kinda have an outline for this story in my mind, but you know changes can always happen. Sorry, it has been so long, school has been really stressful and time-consuming lately. Stay safe everyone :)

Chapter 18

"Did you ship the box?"

"Yes… you asked me this two days ago."

"I'm just making sure you did."

"I think you have pregnancy brain."

"Excuse you, sailor."

"What! I'm just saying."

"Whatever."

"You were with me when we shipped it out to your parents."

"Yeah, but they have not gotten it yet. I asked my mom."

"Maybe tomorrow. I'll call them up now to ease your tenseness."

"I'm not tense."

"Yes, you are, Cath. Sit down on the couch and sit next to Eddie."

"Fine."

Steve showed her his phone.

"See I am calling them now."

*ring ring ring*

"Admiral Rollins."

"Hey, son, what's up?"

"Did you get the box, yet?"

"Elizabeth just went out to check the mail."

"If you did, don't open it yet."

"Ah, yes, Cathy texted us twice already. What's inside?"

"It's a surprise."

"Ah, got it. Elizabeth is coming in and I do see a box. Hold on a second, son."

Steve put his phone on the table on speaker and muted them. He sat next to Catherine and put his arm around her shoulder.

"Sounds like your parents got it."

"Great… they haven't opened it yet, right?"

"Your mom is coming into the house now."

"Steve, are you still there?"

Steve quickly picked up his phone and unmuted.

"Yes, sir."

"The box came."

"Great, Catherine is going to take over the phone."

"Hi, dad."

"Hi, sweetie. Is there a reason why you don't want us to open the box?"

"Is mom there?"

"Yup."

"Are you both sitting down?"

"Now we are."

"You can open it now."

Steve and Catherine waited for a little while Elizabeth and James opened the package.

"Let's see what we got here… an ultrasound, a letter board, a pregnancy test, and baby clothes. I wonder what's going on here."

"Oh James, do you really not know?"

"We are going to be grandparents?"

"Yes!"

"Congratulations, you two!"

"Thank you, mom and dad!"

"Do you like the surprise?"

"Yes! I love the board you made!"

The board said, "Baby Rollins McGarrett sailing home in March 2021."

"Are you two still getting married in February?"

Steve and Catherine looked at each other.

"We haven't discussed that yet."

"Dad, I want to be able to fit into the wedding dress, you know."

"You don't have to listen to me, sweetie, but I think you two should get married after. Both of you are already super busy now and a wedding on top of the baby coming is going to be a lot."

"I agree with your mom, Cath."

"Me too, dad. At least both of you can come down here, right?"

"Of course, sweetie. I will make sure I am fully available for you."

"Thanks, dad."

"We are going to let you love birds enjoy your moment. Congratulations again!"

"Thank you, mom and dad. We love you, all three of us!"

"We love you three too!"

One month later…

"Kono."

"Yes?"

"Let's go out tonight."

"Not complaining… but… why?"

"You've been back for four months and we haven't gone out… on a date night."

"You're totally not being suspicious."

Adam started walking away from her. He stopped at the door of the office and looked back at her.

"Just remember to wear something nice… not like you don't look pretty in everything you wear."

Adam walked out the door toward the smart table.

Kono thought to herself, "such a weird guy." Kono opened back up her laptop. She was playing their wedding video.

*At the smart table*

"Hey man, what's up?"

"Nothin… Why is everyone being so weird around me?"

"Bruh, I don't know."

"Thanks, Lou. Got anything?"

"Yea got a hit on the vehicle."

"Where's McGarrett? I'll let him know."

"He's outside talking to Danny."

"Thanks."

Danny and Steve were arguing like usual. Adam opened the door.

"Of course you two are shouting at each other out here."

"We are not arguing."

"Yea, we are having a friendly disagreement about what to do for this case."

"Anyways, we got a hit on the vehicle."

"Perfect, I'm taking the Camaro."

Danny walked inside first.

"Hey Steve, can I talk to you about something?"

"Sure… what's up man?"

"I think I want to ask Kono to remarry me."

"Wow, congrats man. She is definitely going to say yes."

"You really think?"

"I mean you both seem like you are on the same page."

"I really want a kid, Steve."

Steve started to think about Catherine since she hasn't been at the office in a while.

"Steve?"

"Yea, sorry man, what were you saying?"

"I was just saying, I'm not sure if she wants a kid."

"I'm sure she does."

"How about you and Catherine?"

Steve took a moment to remember that they decided not to tell anyone else yet.

"One day…"

"You and Catherine would make some really cute kids."

"Thanks, man, you and Kono would too. Just talk to her…"

"Before I re-propose?"

"I mean it's up to you man, but if you wanna spend the rest of your life with her, you should know how she feels about kids."

"Thanks for the advice, man."
