You can leave any suggestions to include in this story and maybe I will include them. I kinda have an outline for this story in my mind, but you know changes can always happen. Chapter 19

Later that night…

Adam was waiting by their front door wearing a tux. He was fixing his tux cuff when he heard Kono come out. He looked up and saw her.

"Wow… you look amazing."

"Not so bad yourself."

Adam walked toward her and put his hands on her waist.

"I missed this so much."

"Me too."

They kissed and held hands as they walked out the door for dinner. Adam drove the car and they got out at the valet stand.

*At the restaurant*

They sat down at a table looking out toward the ocean. Their candlelight dinner was already on the table.

"Wow, this is amazing. The view, food, wine."

"I'm glad you like it. Only the best for my girl."

Kono blushed when Adam said that. Adam held out his hand on the table and Kono put her hand into his. Kono started to think about Catherine and Steve and how they made it back together and are starting a family.

"Adam…"

Adam looked up from his food.

"Yes?"

"How do you feel about kids?"

That question caught him off guard, especially since he was just talking to Steve about kids and he wanted to ask her.

"Um, what about kids?"

Adam started to think to himself "why did I just say that? I know what she means."

"About having kids…"

"I um… would love to have kids… with you."

Kono felt a huge sigh of relief.

"How do you feel about kids?" Adam asked back.

"I would love for us to have kids. A little you would just be perfect."

"A little you would be the most amazing gift ever."

Kono and Adam reached over the table to kiss.

"So when do you want to start trying?" Adam smirked.

"Have you been thinking about this for a long time?" Kono laughed.

"I have and I can't wait for our future."

Adam got up from the table and down on one knee.

"We never had a formal proposal so here it is."

Kono started to tear up.

"Six years ago, you told me you wanted to be my wife. Every day since then I have never once stopped loving you. Even when you left, my heart was still yours. We have been through so much together and I can't imagine my life without you. I want to be your husband if you take me to be yours."

"Adam, we both became different people and found new passions in life, but you were always my anchor. I regret not trying to save our relationship earlier and for causing you so much pain these past years. Life without you in it was torture and I don't want to experience it anymore. Coming back to Hawaiʻi was the second best decision of my life. The first was marrying you. I would love to be your wife again."

Kono reached out her hand and Adam put her wedding ring on her left hand.

"It's perfect. I have always loved this ring."

Kono reached into her purse and took out Adam's wedding ring.

"I brought this too… just in case."

Adam put his hand out and Kono put the ring on. They sat down and enjoyed dessert before heading home.

"So Mrs. Noshimuri, when should we get married?"

"As soon as possible, Mr. Noshimuri."

The next morning…

Adam woke up early to make Kono breakfast in bed. With the table all set up, he brought it to their bedroom. Kono was slowly waking up. Adam kissed her forehead.

"Good morning, Mrs. Noshimuri."

"Good morning. What is all of this?"

"Just a little something to start our morning."

"I love it. It's just perfect."

"So back to the question."

"How about Sunday?"

"Sounds perfect. Just 4 days before we are married again."

Kono and Adam kissed and finished the rest of their breakfast. They got ready and headed into the office. Everyone was gathered in the bullpen.

"We have an announcement to make."

"Are you guys pregnant?" Quinn asked.

"No, we are not, but we are getting married this Sunday and you are all invited."

Everyone said their congratulations to the happy couple. Steve went up to Adam and hugged him.

"Congratulations."

"Thanks, man. I would like you to be my best man."

"Really, Adam? Are you sure?"

"Yes, I am. You've been such a great friend all these years and have always been here for the both of us."

"I feel honored to be your best man."

"Thank you, Steve."

Kono went straight to Catherine. Catherine immediately hugged her.

"Congratulations! I really thought you would have said you are going to have a baby."

"Slow your roll, Sistah." Kono laughed.

"Not yet, but soon… hopefully."

"I am looking forward to it."

Kono pulled Catherine into her office.

"How are you and the…"

"We are doing fine, just a little bit of morning sickness."

"That's good to hear. I want you to be my maid of honor."

"Kono… that's a big ask… especially for someone who is … you know..."

"Yes, but I can't think of anyone who would ever be the best maid of honor like you are."

"Kono… you're making me emotional."

Catherine hugged her again.

"I would love to be your maid of honor."
