Chapter 17: Winter Dance Part 2
It's night-time at the school and in the gymnasium, it was a party, there was a balloon arch in front of the doors, a disco ball hanging from the ceiling, clothed tables with chairs around the room, a DJ setup, photobooth, an ice statue of a cupid with Chris Maclean's head and for the winter theme a giant Christmas tree was in the corner.
Sooner or later, everyone started showing up wearing formal clothes such as Tuxedoes and dresses. Eventually our main cast arrived, first was DJ wearing a white suit also a black shirt, a brown belt and a red tie.
DJ: now this is nice shindig
Next Justin showed up wearing a pink tuxedo, white shirt, purple bowtie, black pants and belt and a pair of grey shoes, he also had his hair slicked backwards.
Justin: que the pretty ladies in 3…2…1… (a swarm of girls asked Justin for his autograph) easy girls there's enough Justin to go around
Next Gwen came wearing a short-sleeved teal blue dress gown to match her dyed hair colour.
Gwen: I'm really doing this oh boy
Then Duncan arrived wearing a black tuxedo, white shirt and shoes, grey pants and a red tie, however he kept his piercings and collar on.
Gwen: I'm sorry but you look like you're going to some biker gang leader's wedding
Duncan: I was talked into coming here for your information plus the metal stays
Gwen: just saying
After that Owen showed up wearing a black suit, a white shirt, a red bowtie and cummerbund and a pocket hanky in his upper left tuxedo pocket.
Owen: WHOOOO THIS IS GONNA BE AWSOME WHOOOOOO!
Next Heather came wearing a short black dress with a red waist and wearing a pair of blue sandals.
Heather: Beth and Lindsay better get here son or else this plan won't work
Then Cody showed up wearing an all-yellow suit and shoes with a white shirt, red bowtie and pink flower pinned to his tux, he also styled his hair by combing it to the front.
Cody: ok this is your chance to impress Gwen… (he thought he heard something behind him but whatever it was had disappeared) what the what was that (something was watching him)
Next Harold arrived wearing an all-light blue suit, white shirt and cyan bowtie and shoes.
Harold: let's see if I can convince the music guy for me to work the sound system
After that both Frank and Chloe showed up linking arms. Frank had both the sleeves ripped off from his black suit and cyan shirt revealing his bare arms, he also wore a black tie also he kept his sunglasses on. Chloe was wearing a strapless pink grown dress with the lower half being a lighter colour, a pair of white shoes and long gloves, a pearl necklace and earrings
Chloe: again, why did you rip the sleeves off
Frank: because they're tight around my biceps
Chloe: ok but why do you still have your sunglasses on its night-time
Frank: that's a story for another day
Then Izzy arrived wearing a green strapless green dress gown with a lime bow tied at the back, small gems in diamonds on the lower half.
Izzy: LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED! (runs off into the crowd causing trouble)
Next both Tyler and Lindsay came holding hands. Tyler was wearing a black suit and a red shirt; he also had a grey tie on him as well however he didn't have his classic headband on. Lindsay was wearing a strapless red dress with a reddish-brown bow tied around the waist, she also had a pair of black stilettos as well as a pearl necklace and bracelet also a pair of diamond earrings, she also didn't wear her bandana either.
Tyler: now this is going to be a night to remember
Lindsay: I know right… (Heather grabs her hand)
Heather: sorry lousy jock but I need this (takes Lindsay away)
Tyler: oh, she is not going to this dance for us
Soon Beth showed up wearing a short pink dress gown with large round shoulder pads that look like something from a Disney princess movie, the lower half to her dress was a little darker than the top half.
Beth: wow this place is amazing…
Heather: there you are (said annoyedly) come on we have work to do
Then Lashawna arrived with her hair in a bun whilst also wearing a strapless purple dress and shoes, she also had long white gloves and her hoop earrings were replaced by gold ones instead.
Lashawna: hey Gwen how you doin girl
Gwen: pretty good
Lashawna: so, you and Trent doing anything yet
Gwen: no, he hasn't even got here yet or at all
Lashawna: I'm sure he'll come and besides I have a plan
Next to arrive was Noah wearing a black shirt and shoes, brown belt, beige pants and dark red tie, he had also slicked back his hair.
Noah: who is my mystery date and what do I do
Owen: Noah buddy wassup dude
Noah: not good big guy, my dad set me up with a mystery date and I don't know who it is
Owen: calm down I'm sure we'll find whoever she is
After that Trent came wearing a black suit, white shirt and green tie, he also combed his hair down as well.
Trent: ok step one find Gwen, step two ask her to dance with me, step three make a connection, step four hopefully she becomes my girlfriend
Then Geoff and Bridgette showed up holding hands. Geoff was wearing a black suit and tie along with a pink shirt, a belt with a giant gold buckle and his lucky cowboy hat. Bridgette was wearing a cyan blue dress with the straps around her neck, a pair of white shoes and a ribbon holding her ponytail.
Geoff: are you ready for a night to remember
Bridgette: you bet I am (they start kissing)
Soon Ezekiel arrived wearing a barf green jacket, a white shirt, black pair of pants and shoes, a yellow tie and he combed his hair down.
Ezekiel: ok time to get to work… (he trips over his own untied shoelaces) rats
Finally, Courtney made her way inside wearing a long strapless cream coloured dress.
Courtney: ok court you can do this
The night started off great there was dancing, mingling, conversations, kissing and a whole lot more. On the dance DJ stepped up and off some liquid fire moves, people were astounded and amazed and started chanting his name until the school's ice dancers Josee and Jacques walked on insulting him.
Jacques: you call that dancing, you look like a headless chicken
Josee: let us show you how a professional does it
They start dancing as if they were on ice and if it would be an actual competition, everyone was amazed by them and started applauding and appraising them.
Josee: beat that D-Joke
DJ: if you insist
He starts doing a combination of dances ballet, ribbon dancing, brake dancing and so much more, the crowd was amazed by this and soon he started spinning on his head until he stopped pointing at the ice dancers.
DJ: how's that for a headless chicken
The ice dancers faint while everyone chants DJ's name and picks him up whilst tossing flowers at him.
Harold manged to get a hold of some speakers and then connected his keyboard to it and started play Axel F, everyone was starting to get into the beat especially since it was coming from some giant speakers until Izzy accidently broke a generator powering the speakers.
Crowd: BOOOOOO!
Harold: what a go moron
Izzy: aw calm down I know just the thing to fix this (she runs out the gym)
10 minutes later
Izzy: I'm back and this car battery should do the trick
She connects the speakers to the battery to the speakers and then Harold plays his Keyboard again and the crowd went wild.
Harold: hey where did you even get that thing
Izzy: oh, it was just lying around
Meanwhile at Chef's house, Chef was walking out his house and towards his car to head to the store.
Chef: a 99% discount on tubas during the night, how can I not refuse…AHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY CAR!
Chef sees his car completely torn, shredded and ripped apart with junk lying everywhere and pieces of it on fire.
At the photobooth Chloe and Frank decide to have a couple of pictures taken together.
Chloe: hey can we get our picture taken together
Frank: sure, I don't see why not
They get inside and sit at the screen while it takes their picture, when they get out the machine prints out the photos of them. The first one was them holding each other, the second one was them kissing, the third one was with Chloe wearing rapper shades and Frank wearing a fluffy pink scarf, and the fourth one was them hugging each other.
Chloe: these turned out well but one question, I've never seen you without your shades what's behind them
Frank: like I said that is a story for another day
While Bridgette was standing alone Ezekiel walked up to her and started to speak.
Ezekiel: hey bridge you want to dance with me
Bridgette: for the fifteenth time no I'm here with Geoff
Ezekiel: oh, come on you know you want me (Geoff walks behind him and taps his shoulder)
Geoff: I'm going to give you to the count of three to leave (punches his fists) 1…2…
Ezekiel runs away in fear leaving the building whilst still running down the street in terror.
Geoff: I'm so sorry who had to witness that
Bridgette: well, thank goodness my big strong man arrived (they start making out)
Meanwhile Noah was sitting to himself trying to figure out who is mystery date was and who it could be.
Owen: you good buddy
Noah: no, I am not good I don't know who or where my date is
Owen: hey let me get you some punch to cheer you up
As Owen left, he bumped into an Asian girl with blueish-black hair wearing a red dress, he looked to see it was none other than Emma a girl that went to his and Noah's old school.
Owen: Emma what are you doing here
Emma: Owen what are you doing here
Owen: I go here with Noah, but still why are you here
Emma: my dad told me to come because apparently, I have a mystery date but that's pointless since no one here even knows about me…wait Noah goes here
Owen: yeah, funny enough he has a mystery date too apparently, it's someone he knows but you could it be is the question
Emma approached the table Noah was sitting at, but he kept sitting the other way starring at the couples on the dance floor while looking sad, Emma approached from the behind without him looking.
Emma: excuse me is this table taken
Noah: nah do whatever you want (he still faced away)
Emma: why so bummed
Noah: my dad set up a mystery date for me, but I can't find the girl that's meant to be
Emma: I'm on a mystery date too and when I told my sister Kitty, she went crazy with joy
Noah: did you just say your sister is kitty… (Noah turns his head to see Emma starring and smiling at him) Emm…mmm…Emma why are you are here you don't go to this school
Emma: for someone so smart you really don't see the bigger picture do you
Noah paused for a second and then everything clicked on.
Emma: speaking of which you wanna dance
He didn't say anything he just nodded his head and went along with her, soon they started slow dancing together and when Noah facing one way Owen gave him a thumbs up while Noah nodded at him.
Heather gathered Lindsay and Beth for her plan to proceed.
Heather: ok here's how it's going to go, Lindsay you're going to flirt with Trent and make him fall for you, meanwhile Beth have Cody flirt with Gwen that should ruin things
Beth: I don't know about this
Lindsay: yeah, I was really hoping to spend this night with Tyler
Heather: DON'T QUESTION ME, NOW GET TO WORK
They both nod and go and do their thing little did Heather know Leshawna was watching, as Cody drinks punch from the bowl Beth approaches him to convince him to dance with Gwen but she stops to see Sierra wearing a white dress starring at him.
Beth: excuse me but why are you starring at him
Sierra: because just look at Cody, that hair that body aww
Beth feels something within her thinking if there's someone that likes him maybe he should be with Sierra and not forced with Gwen. While Heather wasn't looking, she talks with Sierra.
Beth: okay if you really like him then you should ask him dance with you
Sierra: really you think so
Beth: yeah, go for it
Sierra quickly gets up from her seat and rushes over to Cody, she first introduces herself to him and out of the blue grabs his arm and dances furiously with him while Cody fears for his. Heather then walks over to Beth about to complain.
Beth: huh maybe this wasn't a smart idea
Heather: what's taking so long
Beth: oh…there's been a bit of…inconvenience yeah look (she sees Cody and Sierra dancing with each other)
Heather: dammit well at least Lindsay will have some better luck
Meanwhile Leshawna dragged Trent and Tyler together.
Trent: what's your deal
Tyler: yeah, what's going on
Leshawna: I've got something to tell you two
As Lindsay approached Trent, she was feeling nervous about doing what heather says or having a good time with her boyfriend. Eventually she made her way towards the musician.
Lindsay: hi…Trent
Trent: ah Lindsay perfect hey Tyler, I found her
Tyler: ah there you are (he grabs her onto the dance floor)
The jock held her tight as they slow danced with everyone else, Lindsay saw heather looking really pissed off, so she smiled and shrugged her shoulders, then Tyler Turned around and grinned while flipping her off.
Heather: this can't be happening
Trent: I'm afraid it is, now if you need me, I have a date with both a goth and destiny
Gwen was sitting depressed at the table, but little did she know Trent was approaching her.
Gwen: it's official this is the worst day of my life…
Trent: well, is there any way I can make better (Gwen looked up to see Trent with his hand out to her) would you do me the honours of having this dance with me
Gwen: I shall (she blushes)
The two of them go to the dance floor and have fun dancing with each other as they starred into each other's eyes. While they danced Heather was grinding her teeth while crossing her arms.
Heather: no this is not how the plan was supposed to go
Leshawna: well, it looks like fate has other plans, now my work here is done time to show DJ how to really dance (she walks away)
Heather: laugh it up now but I still have one more trick up my sleeve (smiles evilly)
As Gwen left to dance with Trent, Courtney was left alone at the table she saw the happy couple dancing with each other while the rest of her friends were doing their own thing Lashawna busting out some moves in a dance off against DJ, she saw Bridgette at another table making out with Geoff and she saw Chloe laughing with Frank while drinking fruit punch. She was left alone sad and depressed though in the corner Duncan notices her being depressed and thinks to himself, finally he decided to go up to her. However, Heather sees him walking and then talks to Justin.
Heather: remember what we agreed upon
Justin: that depends, do you have what we discussed (Heather hands him 1000 dollars) pleasure doing business with you
As Courtney sits alone at the table, Duncan soon gets closer to her, halfway as he gets closer Justin gets in front of him and talks to Courtney.
Justin: excuse me miss but would you like to take this dance
Courtney: I…I would (she says happily)
As they held hands to the dance floor and started slow dancing with everyone else Duncan stood still, and his face looked as if his heart just broke into a million pieces. As he watched them hold each other close he walked out the room in sorrow, got in his car and went home.
Heather: he he he at least something went according to plan
Soon the Dance was over, and everybody was going home for Christmas, Trent and Gwen walked out with Gwen holding onto both of Trent's arms.
Gwen: tonight, was magical wasn't it
Trent: sure was, hey would you like a lift home
Gwen: I would
Trent gets onto his motorbike and puts his helmet on while Gwen sits behind him wrapping her arms around his waist and the two of them drive into the night. Soon Noah and Emma walked out holding hands and then started to speak.
Emma: I had a really great time tonight
Noah: yeah, me too
Emma: I guess I'll see you around (she kisses him on the cheek and then leaves)
Noah: what just happened (Owen shows up)
Owen: you just had your first date little buddy
Soon everyone else left the school to go home and the last people to walk out were Justin and Courtney.
Courtney: I had fun maybe we can…
Justin: I'm going to stop you right there, look Heather paid me to dance with you and then break up with you so see yah (Justin walks away with a bunch of paparazzi following him)
Courtney just stood there as if her heart had broken into a million pieces. As she stood in shock the school lights turned off, the banner above the door fell on one side and the snow started to fall. She then got to her knees and started sobbing into the hands.
