Chapter 19: Talent Show
Now that the winter break was over everybody was settling back into school quite nicely though a week had passed, and it was time for the annual school talent show. The entire school was sitting in the auditorium awaiting the show while a bunch of others were behind the stage prepping.
Soon enough Principal Mclean walks onto the front of the stage in a blue tuxedo and talks into a microphone.
Chris: welcome everyone to our school's talent show, we have students here competing with their talents and acts all for the grand prize of 21,000 dollars
Meanwhile backstage Heather came out from the changing rooms wearing a pink ballet costume with her hair tied back.
Heather: these chumps have no chance of winning…
She saw how many people were competing so as usual she was going to be her bitchy self and sabotage.
Back at the front Chris was sitting at a desk with Chef, Don and Blaineley who all had two buttons in front of them one was red to indicate it was bad and the other green to indicate it was good.
Chris: okay our first contestant is Ezekiel
Ezekiel placed down a stool down and sat on it while playing his banjo. He was doing really well until his strings snapped off making it unable to play his instrument.
Ezekiel: hold on a second let me fix this
Chris: I'm sorry but if your unable to play then we unfortunately have to disqualify you
The judges press their red buttons. He walked backstage a little upset.
Ezekiel: how could it break I took such care of it (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather tightened the banjo's strings so hard; they were on the verge of snapping.
Chris: our next contestant is Eva
Eva started lifting a really heavy dumbbell because her act was, she could hold up dumbbells for more than ten minutes. She reaches past nine minutes and almost makes it however she drops it just three seconds away.
Eva: WHAT THE…HOW!
Chris: I'm sorry Eva but you said you could hold it for more than ten minutes, and well you caved just under five seconds so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. She stomps backstage really pissed off.
Eva: THIS MAKES NO SENSE I CAN HOLD UP TO TWENTY MINUTES WHY COULDN'T I HOLD NOW! (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather covers Eva's dumbbell in slippery olive oil.
Chris: our next contestant is Noah
Noah holds some bowling pins that he's about to juggle, so he tosses them one by one into the air however they don't come down until they do all fall straight on top of his head.
Noah: ow what the heck
Chris: I've seen sorry excuses for jugglers but Noah you of all people I though would've pulled it off, so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. He walks backstage pondering to himself
Noah: how is this possible I've been practising for weeks (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather drills a hole into the pins and place metal blocks into them, and when Noah tossed them, she operated an electromagnet above him which pulled the pins to it and turned it off thus falling on top of his head
Chris: our next contestant is Justin
Justin walks onto the stage not wearing a shirt however he has a red hat on. He starts plexin his muscles and shows off his bod which catches everyone's attention, but the second he takes off his hat it reveals his hair had been turned into a rainbow-coloured afro.
Justin: what is everyone… (looks into his mirror) MY HAIR!
Chris: Justin at first you had us, but your hair just doesn't work so I'm sorry but
The judges press the red buttons. He runs backstage to quickly hide his hair.
Justin: WHY ME! (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather replaces Justin's Hair spray with clown hair spray, so when he sprayed it on himself the hair puffed up into a rainbow afro
Chris: our next contestant is Tyler
Tyler starts doing yoyo tricks like around the world and walk the dog, however halfway through the performance the yoyo snaps off the string and launches out the window and breaks through the glass of Chef's car which triggers the alarm.
Don: why do I hear a car alarm
Chef: MY CAR!
Chris: sorry Tyler but acts and talents must not cause any pain or damage to a person it's property so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. He walks backstage baffled by the yoyo snapping.
Tyler: that thing was brand new how could it have broken so easily (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather stretches out the yoyo string to point where it's about to break off.
Chris: our next contestant is Izzy
Izzy places a boombox and two baskets and then plays some hypnosis music and starts dancing like a cobra then from the baskets two actual cobras slither out and start dancing, but somehow the boombox changes to some heavy metal music which aggravates the cobras and attacks Izzy.
Izzy: AH GET THEM OFF ME GET THEM OFF ME!
Chris: somehow, I consider this animal cruelty so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Izzy walks off the stage really pissed while the cobras still bite her.
Izzy: IF I FOUND OUT WHO DID THIS I WILL F*CKING BREAK THEIR F*CKING LEGS! (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
While Izzy and the Cobras where dancing Heather launches a small pebble from a slingshot which hits the boom box making the music change and the cobras to attack Izzy.
Chris: our next contestant is Cody
Cody walks onto the stage wearing small sunglasses and and a backwards cap, he then places down a boombox and some cardboard and starts to break dance. However he wasn't able to get his hands or feet of the carboard until he tugged hard tearing a piece of that was stuck to his hand and his shoes still stuck to it.
Cody: I swear I don't know what went wrong
Chris: don't care because that was the most pathetic break dance ever so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Cody picks up the cardboard, but it gets stuck to his other hands, so he just leaves the stage with it still stuck to him.
Cody: why is this so sticky all of a sudden (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather pours super glue all over Cody's carboard.
Chris: our next contestant is Beth
Beth pulls out two batons and lights the ends of them on fire, she then plays some classic Hawaiian bongo music. Beth then started twirling them completely in sync with her arms however she loses grip on them and they fall causing the sprinklers to go off drencing everybody.
Beth: uhm
Chris: thanks a lot for ruining my suit plus I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Beth walks off the stage sad and in shame.
Beth: I spent weeks working on that act what went wrong (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather covers the middle part of Beth's batons in lubricant making them slippery.
Chris: our next contestant is Courtney
Courtney holds her violin while playing a soft mellow tune and then makes the beat and tempo sound dramatic and extravagant which made a few people felt emotional even made Chef cry, though just as she was about to play a high note her baton suddenly turned into saw dust then her violin disintegrated.
Courtney: MY VOILIN!
Chris: you really had me going somewhere Court however your instruments broke just as things were getting beautiful so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Courtney then cries off the stage while being both upset and angry at the same time.
Courtney: I'TS NOT FAIR I'TS NOT FAIR I'TS NOT FAIR (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather places a matchbox full of termites into Courtney's violin.
Chris: our next contestant is Harold
Harold wears a karate uniform and is about to break a wood board however the board doesn't brake but his hand turns red and he lets out a huge scream.
Harold: AHHHHHH MY HAND! (blows on his hand)
Chris: we don't condone the contestants to hurt each other or themselves so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Harold runs of the stage while holding his hand in pain.
Harold: I trained for five years why did this happen (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather spray paints a rectangular piece of stone to make it look like Harold's wood board and replaces it.
Chris: our next contestant is Trent
Trent sits on a stool while playing on his guitar, while singing and playing the song "I want it that way" the neck of his guitar snaps and brakes off.
Trent: MY GUITAR!
Chris: sorry Trent but an incomplete act results in disqualification so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Trent leaves the stage in sad that his guitar is broken
Trent: who would do such as a thing (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather saws the neck of Trent's guitar enough so that it is flimsy enough to snap off.
Chris: our next contestant is Bridgette
Bridgette stands in front of a microphone while wearing a blue dress with her hair tied in a bun. She was about to sing however the second she started she coughed and couldn't say a word as if she had lost her voice.
Chris: you can't just stand there with a pretty dress so unless you sing or do some kind of act then I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. She walked of the stage looking completely sad, then Geoff showed up to see what happened.
Geoff: babe what happened (Bridgette texts Geoff) you lost your voice, oh I'm am so sorry (he hugs her while Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather pours lemon sour lemon juice into Bridgette's water bottle before she drinks it.
Chris: our next contestant is Chloe
Chloe starts doing tricks on her skateboard like spinning on one wheel and even a flip however her wheels brake off causing her to fall and hurt her arm.
Chloe: AHHH MY ARM!
Chris: again, we don't condone the contestants to hurt each other or themselves so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Chloe walks of the stage angry and holding her arm in pain.
Chloe: what psychopath would do this (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather loosens the wheels on Chloe's Skateboard.
Chris: our next contestant is Lindsay
Lindsay had placed down a couple of blue mats in order to show off her rhythmic gymnastics, but the second she did a handstand on the mats her hands started slipping making her fall and slide off the mats and off the stage hitting her head.
Lindsay: ow
Chris: this is a talent show not an epic fail contest so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Lindsay is taken off the stage by a stretcher and two doctors.
Doctor: geez this girl hurt herself bad I wonder what happened (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather spreads butter all over Lindsay's gymnastic mats.
Chris: our next contestant is DJ
DJ does a ribbon dance which puts him in the zone completely unaware of his surroundings, but while dancing he feels that his leotard is getting tighter in his body until he physically can't even move his limbs due to the outfit preventing movement.
DJ: I can't feel my feet and their turning purple
Chris: your ribbon dance was awful I'm afraid, but what's worse is how tight your costume is so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. DJ had to waddle off the stage in disappointment.
DJ: why is my leotard so tight I took such care of it (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather pours a bottle of fabric tightener on DJ's leotard.
Chris: our next contestant is Frank
Frank pulls out his saxophone and begins to play however when he blows into it no sound comes out, he blows harder each time until he blows into so hard that at least a dozen eggs come flying out of the saxophone and onto the judges which pisses them off a little.
Frank: I swear I don't know how…
Chris: enough said and just so you know I got this dry cleaned so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Frank walks of the stage really annoyed.
Frank: I swear if I find the jerk that did this (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather shoves a carton of eggs into Frank's saxophone.
Chris: our next contestant is Geoff
Geoff starts making balloon animals first something simple like a dog but then he makes a giraffe, woolly mammoth, tyrannosaurus rex and even the White House. It started to catch the audience's attention however while making the Eiffel Tower all his balloon creations started popping and burst open.
Geoff: MY BALLOONS!
Chris: if the balloons had stayed intact until you were finished, I would've given you a green light so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Geoff walks off the stage confused on how this could've happened.
Geoff: I've been doing this since I was seven how they could they pop that fast (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather replaces all of Geoff's balloons with pop easy balloons.
Chris: our next contestant is Leshawna
Leshawna does a dance routine which catches the audience's attention until she feels something sharp in her arm.
Leshawna: ow what the heck…
She faints to the floor so Courtney rushes over to her to see if she's okay.
Courtney: are you okay
Leshawna: I…feel…pineapple
Courtney: oh god aren't you allergic (Leshawna hands her a EpiPen) okay on three, one…two…three (jabs the pen into her leg)
Leshawna: I'm good…I'm good
Chris: Leshawna I am very sorry but I'm afraid that we must disqualify you, so I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Leshawna walks off the stage with Courtney helping her.
Leshawna: the little bitch or bastard that did this is gonna pay (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
While Leshawna is dancing Heather blows a dart full of pineapple juice at her making her faint.
Chris: our next contestant is Duncan
Duncan sets up an archery target while firing a bunch of arrows dead in the centre, he then does it blind folded and gets the arrows in the centre again which impresses everyone. Finally, he did it which out his hands but with his feet and teeth with four arrows at the same time, however the second he fired them they started flying around and hitting everything which panicked the crowd until all four of them landed into the judges' red buttons.
Duncan: oh boy
Chris: we would've green lighted you anyway but…once the buzzer is pressed it's final
Duncan walked off the stage really annoyed about what just happened and getting a little angry
Duncan: someone had to have tampered with it, when I find the little snot rag their going to get it (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather soaks the arrows in grease to make them slippery.
Chris: our next contestant is Gwen
Gwen rolls a hallow table with a top hat on it onto the stage. She does tricks like putting her hand into the hat and pulling out large things like a baseball bat and a rabbit, while doing so a door is pulled off the front of the table revealing it to not be a hollow table but disguised as one.
Gwen: uhm…I can explain
Chris: there's nothing to explain I'm sorry but
The judges press their red buttons. Gwen storms off the stage enraged by this.
Gwen: why would they ruin my act, tell me why (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather snags a fishing rod to the table's doorknob and tugs it back as Gwen does her performance.
Chris: our next contestant is Owen
Owen chugs down an entire bottle of soda and then burps out the entire alphabet which actually impresses the crowd however, he then farts so loud that he actually pooped his pants.
Owen: AHHH MY PANTS!
Chris: burping the alphabet was impressive however what wasn't impressive is…that, go clean yourself up
The judges press their red buttons. Owen runs off the stage quickly running to the bathroom.
Owen: good thing I keep some spare underwear but what just happened (Heather stands behind a corner and smirks)
(flashback)
Heather places some laxative pills into Owen's soda bottle.
Chris: okay ladies and gentlemen for our final act and hopefully something that's good, our final contestant Heather
Heather walks out onto the stage wearing her pink ballet outfit and starts dancing. While she does though the others look from the side and question to themselves.
Gwen: nothing bad has happened to her to her so far
DJ: and it's not a coincidence all out acts failed
Frank: you don't think she sabotaged us do you
Duncan: it's heather of course she'd do something like that
Justin: but we don't have any evidence
Cody: actually, we just might
Cody rolls in a box TV and shows everyone the security footage.
When Heather finished her performance, everyone was brought back on stage to award the winner.
Chris: Heather since you were the only contestant who didn't botch their act, I have no other choice but to award the prize money to you…
Trent: Principal Mclean there's something you should see first
They lower down a big screen which shows Heather sabotaging everyone else's props and equipment.
Chris: wait a minute you cheated
Heather: I more think of it as getting an advantage
Chris: well, I think someone isn't getting the prize money
Heather: WHAT!
Chris: since you all had your shot denied I have no other choice but to award all twenty-one of you one thousand dollars each
They all start cheering and are excited while Heather gets mad and throws a tantrum resulting in Chef trying to get her off the stage. The group all pose for a photo while some hold a giant check.
