Because of how special Hallelujah was, the only doctor that Charlie and David had ever taken her to see was the same one that oversaw Charlie's pregnancy - Lena Luthor.
Charlie's pregnancy had been the most unique out of all of David's wives. And after Hallelujah was born, with each passing day she proved just how special she was. Charlie and David didn't want any one outside their community of believers - or their friends - finding out just what their daughter could do.
Hallelujah had just turned one year old. It was time for her one year check-up, so Charlie had taken her to see Lena Luthor.
During the check-up, Hallelujah was staring up at the ceiling in mesmerization. Almost like she was entranced my something or someone invisible, and for a baby that was always so present and alert, this was unusual.
Lena certainly thought so as she was trying to get Hallelujah's attention so that she could check the one year old's eyes - her vision.
"Does she do that...has she done this before?" Lena asked Charlie
Charlie shook her head, just as confused as her friend, "No. She's never done this before."
"What is she looking at?"
Charlie shrugged, "Your guess is as good as mine."
Suddenly Hallelujah started laughing. And not a little laugh, like how most babies laughed. It was more like a big belly laugh. That uncontrollable big belly laugh that people just can't help but let out when something is super funny.
Charlie and Lena stared at Hallelujah before sharing a glance with each other.
"Well at least she likes whatever she's seeing." Lena uttered
"Yeah. It's nothing upsetting, and that's a good thing." Charlie agreed, looking at her daughter and then studying the spot on the ceiling that she was staring at. It was no use though. Charlie didn't see anything.
Lena shrugged, "Maybe it's her guardian angel."
"Yeah maybe."
It was still a little unsettling for Charlie, not knowing what had captured her daughter's attention, but as long as Hallelujah was happy and unharmed, it didn't seem like something that she should be worrying about.
- Present Day -
The now 17 year old Isaiah Barrios and 18 year old Star Koresh had just come back from a shelter where they were ministering to the people, trying to help the people turn their lives around, and bring the people into the truth of the seven seals.
Isaiah and Star were talking about one of the people who they met several times during their ministering at the shelter. About how it seemed like she was close to being ready to come to Mount Carmel and meet everyone. They had just celebrated their passover last week, but the next passover was coming up in about three weeks. They would invite the woman over for that.
This woman wasn't one of the people living in the shelter. She wasn't even one of the people who owned or ran it. She was simply a volunteer who had been interesting in the message of the truth.
Star loved bringing people into the truth. It brought her great joy knowing she was leading people to become closer to God.
Hallelujah - having heard the voices of Star and Isaiah - came bounding down the stairs and into the foyer, running up to her older sister, hugging her tightly.
Star hugged her youngest sister back, "Hey Halle. What's up?"
"Nothing much. Did you see it?" The seven year old asked, "Did you see...her?" She placed an emphasis on 'her'
"It? Her who?" Star questioned
Hallelujah just shrugged, before walking off in the same direction that she had came from, but she didn't go back up the stairs. She headed towards the back door, stepping into the kitchen.
She had seen someone not much older than her sister Star, but the young woman looked really different. Hallelujah didn't know who the woman was or what her name was, but she had looked a bit like Lisa Martin. The woman that Hallelujah had seen was lighter than Lisa - much lighter - and her hair wasn't as dark and the curls weren't as tight. The curls were looser - more like ringlets - and the woman was also lighter than Hallelujah's mummy. Lighter than Charlie, but not white cause she was darker than Zari and Behrad. She was some shade of tan in between.
With Hallelujah now out of earshot, Star shared a glance with Isaiah, the latter of which who had raised an eyebrow. "Do you know what that was about?" He asked her
"No. Not a clue."
"And the mystery of Hallelujah continues." Isaiah added
Hallelujah headed out into the backyard where she stared up at the sky, seemingly mesmerized by nothing. Or at least that what it would have looked like to someone else. In reality, Hallelujah was seeing something that most normal people couldn't. It wasn't the woman though. She had only seen her very briefly when she was looking out through the upstairs window. The woman was gone now. Hallelujah couldn't really describe what she was seeing, but it was...it almost looked like some kind of ship.
"It's coming." She uttered, "A fortnight will pass and then it will be here."
Hallelujah knew that the time for the prophecy was coming soon. The seven year old smiled, feeling comforted by the fact that the woman was coming, because then everyone would know that truth. She wanted the truth to be known. She thought about John 8:32, which says, 'And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free'.
The truth, this knowledge, came at the price of an era of sorrow though, and that wasn't good. But Hallelujah understood that everything comes at a price, and no matter what this sorrow would be, she would have to accept it. She would have to live with it, because she knew that it was the will of God. That it was ordained by God.
Hope you enjoy. Comments are greatly appreciated. In fact, they keep me going.
