"Alright I'm done not saying anything about this because I'm not doing this for another 7 years. Whatever is going on between you two you need to figure it out," McGee said before leaving the bullpen one night.
The weeks had been very boring and the team had spent long hours finishing case reports and debriefing from their last not to be mentioned again case. The bullpen had been mostly quiet but Torres and Bishop has been giving each other looks all week and saying all kinds of flirty things without even realizing they were flirting. McGee could usually keep his cool he did go years without ever saying anything to Ziva and Tony but this long and tedious week he had finally had enough.
"I don't know what he's talking about. There's nothing going on between us. Right?" Torres said nervously.
"Yeah definitely," Bishop agreed.
"I mean I don't know what everyone's big deal is we're just friends. There's not even like a tiny little bit of chemistry between us," Torres rambled more confident now.
"None?" Bishop asked kinda disappointed.
"Well yeah I mean look at us we fight all the time and when we're not fighting we just hang out as friends ya know just like have burgers and hang out and stuff," Torres explained.
"Yeah yeah we're just friends," Bishop said.
"Oh my god!"
"What?"
"He's right were like practically a married couple," Torres said.
"What no we're not."
"Why do we keep dancing around this? It wouldn't be so bad to at least give us a try would it?" Torres forgetting about there unspoken agreement to avoid this topic at all costs.
"Yes," Bishop said trying to shut the conversation down before it went to far.
"Why? Why won't you give us a chance?" Torres asked.
"For one rule 12," Bishop started.
"Who cares about the damn rules Ellie, Gibbs himself doesn't even follow them and it's not like we all haven't broken that rule before," Torres interrupted her.
"Ok fine but if it doesn't work out then how are we gonna work together," Bishop argued.
"I'd rather regret trying to make us work then never trying at all. What's really holding you back?"
"I don't have the best record when it comes to being in love," Bishop admitted. "I mean my ex-husband cheated on me and Quasim, well you know what happened."
"Oh Ellie I can't promise I'm not gonna die but I would never cheat on you. I know that this would be a huge risk but I like you and I want to give us a try."
"Ok," Bishop said grabbing his hands. "Let's do it."
